La Veranda Inn Bed and Breakfast

We were a bit disappointed. No ice or water in the room had to go to the convenience store. The glasses in the room did not seem spotless. We could write our names in the dust on the entertainment center.

My daughter and I stayed at La Veranda while we visited several colleges in the area. We were delighted with our large, comfortable room and attached bathroom suite. Nancy was a delight to visit with and accomodated our morning schedules. The inn itself is situated in a convenient location and we enjoyed walked and exploring the area. And I was impressed by the pet cat who has been trained to sit and roll over. Now that my daughter has been accepted at Eckerd College, we'll be coming back!

The room was large. True on-suite bathroom. Good breakfast. Great location in downtown Saint Petersburg within walking distance of Tropicana Field. Friendly cat on premises. However, our room was not serviced with the bed unmade and towels not replaced on our second day of stay. Individual toiletries not provided. No ice on premises.

Decided to spend a weekend away for my birthday and chose La Veranda as i could travel with my 2 dogs, i did not realize then what a wonderful place this was. The service was spectacular, Nancy is very attentive. breakfast was very good, my dogs loved it here and we took them to the dog beach at Fort De Soto Park for 3 days in a row so they had such a great time as well. The rooms and the INN is very cozy and welcoming, there are a lot of areas to sit outside or inside to relax, read a book or watch the dogs play. This was definitely a great choice, we were very close to restaurants so we walked to them for dinner, great bar around the corner Northeast Tavern and withing walking distance!!! this Inn is absolutely fabulous and we will definitely be going back again and again.

My wife and I and my wife's twin sister and husband drove down for a little R&R and some local shopping from Jacksonville, Florida. We found Nancy and Jay to be gracious hosts. Nancy was a joy to visit with and made us feel right at home. We liked that there were places within walking distance to eat and do some shopping. The inn is easy to find off the highway and easy to reenter upon leaving. We were treated to a great breakfast each morning with good and hot coffee.We all enjoyed our stay and plan to come back again next year and stay with Nancy. Thanks for all the fresh mango's Nancy!

My girlfriend and I spent the night here, and it was a great place to stay for the night...very close to the bay, and all of the shops and restaurants....our host was very cordial, and the breakfast was personally prepared by her and was great...all and all, it was a great place to stay, peaceful and comfy...Tom S

We are a nonprofit organization called the Cancer Education Foundation. We found Nancy and La Veranda almost a year ago. We cannot express our gratitude for her incredible generosity and support for our organization! We frequently host our meetings and conferences at La Veranda. We could not be happier with the wonderful accommodations and welcome atmosphere that Nancy and Jay provide. From spacious and beautiful rooms to welcoming spaces to host meetings, the picturesque veranda and the loving hearts that keep this place running-- We love it all! Our members stay at La Veranda as often as possible and we highly recommend that you do to!

This was my fourth, or fifth, stay. The rooms/suites are comfortable and each one has a distinct personality. Nancy and Jay are great hosts - they are attentive without hovering. Room access is great since all the rooms are accessed directly from the porches giving guests privacy and a place to sit and enjoy the Florida weather.

This B&B is a beautiful retreat in St. Pete, being close to everything while maintaining the classic Florida charm. This is the second time my wife and I have stayed here and we are already talking about coming back.

I spent 8 months on the road last year and this is the 4th time in 3 years business has brought me to St Petersburg. Of all the places I have stayed and I must say that I have always found the hospitality and professionalism of La Veranda to be beyond my expectations. The internet works and I can not say that about the Prince Conti in New Orleans, The water is hot and has enough pressure for a good shower which I was not able to accomplish at the Holiday Inn Express in Charlottesville, dining was within walking distance and varied which beats what I had to put up with in Aiken, the price was vastly superior to what I survived in Raleigh. All in all La Veranda is one of the best and most comfortable Bed and Breakfasts I have ever had the pleasure to sleep in and I will return.

My husband, 2 small children (2 yrs & 9 mths), and I stayed at the LaVeranda for 4 nights. We truly felt like we were in a spacious room in a home away from home. Our suite, the Veranda II, met our needs for space and comfort. The innkeeper, was attentive, and helped us out with anything we needed during our stay. There was a very laid back, Key West type of feel to the place, and enough privacy to warrant our family staying, as well as persons there on business, or couples wanting a quiet vacation to themselves. If we have the opportunity again we will definitely try to stay at the La Veranda again.

La Veranda is in the most central location, nestled in tropical vegetation. The wrap-around veranda is comfortably appointed, the breakfast coffee flows freely while the hot breakfast is prepared as ordered., and the innkeeper is always ready to advise and assist her clients.

My husband and I have stayed at La Veranda many times in St. Petersburg and enjoyed every moment spent there. Each suite has its own charm and decor. It is a large mansion with beautiful grounds in a very convenient location to downtown. You can walk to the pier, parks, and great restaurants. We enjoy going to the Tampa Bay Ray games and always stay with Nancy. The owner is a well-educated, well-traveled, gracious and funny lady! The breakfasts are always varied and good! An affordable and relaxing vacation spot.

While traveling to Florida for my best friends wedding, we drove past La Veranda late at night. We called Nancy and she was super friendly on the phone. She put us in a lovely room (Veranda II) and my wife and I were stunned by the coziness and decor. We felt as if we were back home in PA. Our breakfast was delicious each morning for our 3 night stay. Anything that we needed, Nancy was right there to help us out. It is so nice to know that there are people out there who really care about their business and making the customer happy. Well... we were EXTREMELY happy and we plan on booking our stay again at La Veranda next year. A+

A group of 10 professional women educators gather for a few days after an annual national conference. We have stayed in about a dozen B&B's and La Veranda certainly rose to be our favorite gathering place. Nancy was extremely generous, friendly and gracious and the ambiance and furnishings were comfortable and elegant. Quiet location with convenient store across the street providing made to order sandwiches, a cash station, wine, fresh fruit and much more.

I have just returned from a group meeting which we held at La Veranda! What a lovely, well appointed B and B. The rooms, private sitting rooms and bathrooms are all unique and decorated to the theme of the room. The gathering rooms were large, airy and very comfortable for us. We had breakfast on the "veranda" and had the use of the house as we needed it to accomplish our agenda. The Inn is situated in lovely old Sr. Petersburg, walking distance from the bay side beach and restaurants. The innKeepers, Nancy and Jay, were thoughtful about our needs and very helpful as we made decisions about food and recreation. We had a great time and I would return on my own without hesitation!

I just returned from three days at La Vernada B&B. It was a marvelous place and I look forward to returning to it. The rooms are spacious and well decorated. It has a feeling of being home. We were a group of 10 and took over the place yet there was plenty of room to relax and interact comfortably as a group as well as areas inside and outside as well as our indivudla rooms to have some private time. The food was great and Nancy and Jay were wonderful hosts. Be sure to get the Cuban sandwiches from the stop and shop across the street. They also have a pretty decent wine selection. Take time to relax on the veranda either upstairs or down. The place is steeped in history so be sure to ask about it. It's only three or four blocks from the bay and less than that to the trolley. Enjoy!

I went to Tropicana Field to see the Yankees vs Rays and choose La Veranda for the distance,you can walk to downtown St.Pete,The Pier,Museum etc.The Veranda is quiet ,friendly and Jay was kind and helpful to us.My experience is A+.If i return to St.P. i will stay again at La Veranda and recommend it to.

Very charming, comfortable experience. The wrap around porches are wonderful to sit for breakfast or an afternoon cocktail. It has the ambiance of island life. The location was perfect for us- walking distance to the beach and downtown fine dining. I hope to stay here every year!

We were walk inns and were delighted to find this Charming B&B. We loved our Room"Veranda" 1st Floor... Bed was Soooo comfortable. We Loved the Bathroom 2sinks Large Bathtub with Jets also a Shoer. Breakfast was great! Our Hosts gave us 3 choices of Entrees. This was close to the bay and Restaurants

We were booking a last minute business trip and came across this B&B. Decent price right in the heart of downtown, very convenient for our trip and a nice change from hotels. The room was nice and spacious and the bathroom was beautiful, although the whirlpool tub had a mind of its own. They were very accommodating for our late check in and helpful with maps and area info. Right down the block from a weekend market. Breakfast was good and the cats were very entertaining outside on the porch and in the garden. It's a nice little pocket in the city if you have to be there.

Don't expect luxury, but it's clean and picturesque. Our bed was uncomfortable but room was spacious and clean. Veranda upstairs is adorable. Breakfast was mediocre but service was good, on nice china with silver. Appreciated that touch of elegance. For the money, it's fine.
