St. Francis Inn

Had a good stay, all staff were very nice. The breakfast was a little crowded and rushed.

My wife and I stayed at the inn from April 27-May 2, 2013 for our 30th anniversary. This was our first time in St Augustine, loved it, and our first B&B stay. I can't say enough about the inn, the staff, the warmth and friendliness and the variety of interesting people that we experienced here. The staff were courteous and informative, down to telling us which restaurants not to go to. There was always fresh water, iced tea, coffee and tea available. The breakfast exceeded our expectations. Afternoon social hour was a fun time to talk with the other guests had complementary beer, wine, sangria, and delicious appetizer type offerings. Evening desert hour was also a nice treat. We stayed in Anna's room, unfortunately no hauntings to report, but the room was nice, bathroom is very small so if you are a larger person or someone that has a hard time in a tight space it would probably not be a good choice for you but we had no problems . At night there are snacks left out if you need your midnight snack. We also got complementary passes to the lighthouse. We used bikes provided every day as well as swam in the pool which we always had to ourselves. Top notch in every respect Joe the owner was always visible and staff were beyond accommodating from the desk to the kitchen to housekeeping.

We always enjoy St. Augustine, but wanted something special for our anniversary. Although the room we had was small, it was cozy and the staff and the ambiance of the inn was excellent!

Great sales pitch on the phone but extremely poor performance!! While promised a lovely room and from the pictures on the website not being so; what we received was a tiny cubicle of a room with horrible outdated gasrbage furniture, a mirror that could not be used because I'm 5' and it was too high, bad lighting, a 19 inch tv that you can't see from the bed, no tables and no room to store anything, a worn out rug that was completely stained and a bed that should have been discarded years ago. The bed was so lumpy that I feel crippled. The bathroom was the size of a coffin and the shower curtain touched you from every angle so you were showering with every guest prior to you. . We were also asked to pay in full when we arrived, I guess that should have been our first clue as to what to expect. We arrived with my service dog and were told by the staff that we could not use the indoor areas because of safety issues which is grounds for a law suit since service animals are permitted everywhere, finally Kelly came in and said that the dog was permitted everywhere. The staff was rude and made us feel like we were imposing on them at every request. The only staff that were kind were Kelly and Mary. Heather was a nightmare and extremely rude. The only thing the staff is interested in is getting their job done without you bothering them and to get as much money as they possibley can from each guest. The room cost was $159.00 per night and it was not worth $50.00..I feel like we were entirely ripped off and I was so dissappointed with the St. Francis Inn. I was afraid to walk without shoes on that rug it looked so grimy. The last night there when we went to bed there was a spider in the bed and I have pictures to prove it as well. Do Not Waste your money at this inn, stay elsewhere.

Our first time staying at the St. Francis Inn and also our first time vacationing in St. Augustine was simply perfect. The buildings and ground are so beautiful. The staff was always helpful and friendly. So many great free amenities, including hot breakfast, specialty coffee, an evening social with appetizers and wine, and sinful desserts every night. The neighborhood is quiet and quaint, and close enough to walk to most of the major sites, including the Old Fort, Oldest House, Pirate Museum, St. George Street shopping, Flagler College, Lightener Museum, and more. We stayed in the Wilson Suite and everything was great. Loved the two-person whirlpool tub. :) We didn't see any of the resident ghosts, but both my girlfriend and I had a strange experience. But this only added to the excitement of our stay! I read over a dozen positive reviews before deciding on St. Francis Inn. I have no regrets and we definitely hope to return in the near future.

I can't say enough about this wonderful inn, the staff, the warmth and friendliness that we experienced here. Since it was our first trip to St. Augustine, we had many questions. The staff were courteous and informative, down to telling us which restaurants not to go to. There was always fresh water, iced tea, coffee and tea available. The breakfast exceeded out expectations, especially the one that we received in our room as part of our package. Afternoon social hour was a fun time to talk with the other guests and far exceeded our expectations, with complementary beer, wine, sangria, and delicious appetizer type offerings. Evening desert hour was also a great surprise, there were several things to choose from, along with some port wine and other drinks. We stayed in Lily's room, unfortunately no hauntings to report, but the room was absolutely lovely. I also 'snooped' in a few of the other rooms when they were being cleaned. The staff caught me but they didn't care that I was checking them out. At night there are snacks left out if you need your midnight snack. Our package included a carriage ride and a river cruise, both were lovely. We also got complementary passes to the lighthouse. Quiet, impeccably clean, friendly, historic, pretty....all words that I would use to give this wonderful inn the highest recommendation possible for anyone considering a stay in St. Augustine!

We had flight delays so did not arrive until the wee hours of the next morning. Because we had called ahead, we had instructions how to get our room information and key. Staff we excellent and friendly, and we felt right at home during our stay. The room was clean and also unique with some nice touches like fresh flowers. The breakfasts were WONDERFUL. We also had one of the afternoon snack times, and although we arrived towards the end, we didn't feel rushed to leave after the official end time. GREAT place and we hope to return again soon. You won't regret choosing St. Francis Inn.

I surprised my wife with a weekend getaway for our 10yr anniversary. We absolutely loved our time here. The room was nice and relaxing. The service was great. Food was amazing. The staff really go out of their way to make you feel at home. I would recommend the St. Francis Inn to anyone and we WILL be going back.

We could not have been happier. This was our first bread and breakfast stay and we were presently surprised. The staff was exceptional and all the amenities that were include created quite a value.

was a fabulous experience; felt like a king and queen the entire time!! having raised 4 boys we never had much time or money to treat ourselves so this was awesome in every way.. your kindness of each and every staff member does not go unnoticed; the fabulous food just melts in your mouth, the convenience of your property allows one to easily enjoy st aug and all the extra details you have covered to make a stay so enjoyable!!

This weekend was a special get-away. After all of the waiting, this bed and breakfast was completely outstanding. The site is in the middle of all of the history. They have loaner bikes to site see. Everything was with in bicycling distance and this worked out very well for us. Arrangements were made for a carriage ride and site seeing harbor cruise. The food was great. Evening Social time and dessert social time was a balance of great food and wine. We will stay here again.

Great for sitting around and just enjoying a well preserved and landscaped courtyard and neighborhood and taking short jaunts to everything in downtown area. Social hours were relaxing. Staff were cordial.and helpful for all questions we asked. St. Aug has much history and St. Francis Inn helps blend you into it. Ken & Jean Stanford

My only possible criticism, would be if some healthy alternatives such as fresh fruit could be added to the breakfast menu. We stayed on the beach, while the weather did not cooperate we still had a lovely time.

We had an incredible time celebrating our anniversary. Located near everything. The bikes available where very cool. The staff was top notch! We will definately be back next year as the st. Francis was able to grant us a one night stay. A couple of othe nearby inns where not as helpful. We have an 8 yr old and could only get away for 1 night. Thank you to the entire staff for making our stay great!

Quiet, well-kept, pleasant, charming. Room was a bit smaller than I expected. Comfortable bed, brandy in the room, courteous staff - overall good experience.

The St Francis is a lovely inn ideally situated for short walks into the historic district. The suite we stayed in had all amenties that you expect for a bed & breakfast, but the most amazing thing was how quiet it was, Our room was at the top of the stairs and we couldn't hear peopole comimg and going. We only had a short one-night stay to get acquainted with the inn but were very pleased with our accommodations. We enjoyed the social hour and the availability of bikes, drinks and goodies throughout the day. It was in a great location just off from all the main historic areas and the history of the inn itself was evident and fascinating.

Lovely place and close to downtown area

4 of my closest friends stayed at the " cottage" and our experience was amazing! My biggest concern was would it be clean and it absolutely was. This place is loaded with charm from a wonderful breakfast in the courtyard, mango sweet tea at check in and bikes to ride around town! Everyone was helpful and sweet, food was great and I cannot wait to return. After just a weekend I feel like a new, happier, and more relaxed person! You'll be impressed. Rent the cottage! - Sharon

My husband and I chose St. Francis Inn because it was ranked highly on some travel sites, and because of its reputation for being haunted. While we did not encounter any spirits during our stay, we did have a very memorable experience. Location: The bed and breakfast is within walking distance of many tourist sites (including the shops in the historic district), restaurants, and even a local bar. The bed & breakfast has a large parking lot adjacent to the rooms, which was convenient. Service: Outstanding. The lady who checked us in was extremely helpful. She provided us with a map of the area, coupons for local tourist sites, and a coupon for a discounted drink from the on-location bar. She took us to our room and thoroughly explained everything from the thermostat to the check-out policy. The room itself: We stayed in the Courtyard Room, which features a private entrance right off the courtyard; that was definitely convenient. The room is quite cozy; it is rather small, but did not feel cramped. There was a fireplace, a TV with a DVD player, and even some brandy waiting for us in our room. Amenities: The St. Francis Inn is all about amenities. There was a complimentary Southern-style breakfast each morning. The menu changes daily, but there are always hot items and fresh fruit available. They even offered champagne for mimosas. There was a social hour from 5:00 - 6:00pm with local wine and yummy appetizers. If that weren't enough, there was even a dessert hour later in the evening with complimentary dessert. Rates: We were pleased with St. Francis Inn's rates, especially in relation to what we got for the money. We could not have stayed in a hotel in the area and gotten the level of service or the experience we received here. If we stay in St. Augustine in the future, St. Francis Inn will be our first and only lodging choice.

We truly enjoyed our visit and would chose to stay here again. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a sofa, window shutters and potted plants. The pillows were a little tired but the bed was comfortable and we slept well. We really enjoyed a lemon poppy seed waffle on our first morning but the egg casserole the next morning was only ordinary, even disappointing. The upside is that they are very generous, providing coffee and tea all day a cocktail hour, complimentary dessert and noon checkout so, except for two minor disappointments, I think they get it right and being a 5 minute walk to downtown area I would still recommend a stay.

Lovely room, attentive, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Like staying over at a friends house as a kid and being treated like one of the family. Our first trip to St Augustine, but soon we will return, thanks in part to our experience at the St Francis Inn. Thank You All Very Much!

If you're looking to be pampered, this is the place! The staff can't seem to do enough (in their eyes!) to make you happy. They'll make you a latte to order - enough said! The food was good and very plentiful. They have a free cocktail hour and then, later in the evening, free dessert! The rooms aren't cheap but they're well worth it. And the inn has a history - not some cookie-cutter chain hotel. The whole place has character to spare. Can't wait to visit again!

The Garden Hideaway was a great secluded honeymoon destination.

We stayed in the balcony room, which we found out is directly above the dining area. We could hear conversations and loud talking at certain times of the day and night, which was annoying. We love St. Francis, have stayed there frequently, and will again. Just not in the balcony room.

It was a very quiet and quaint bed and breakfast in a great location in the historic downtown of St. Augustine. We could walk everywhere. It was very clean and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. I would definitely recommend this B&B to someone else going to St. Augustine and stay there again myself.

St. Francis Inn is a wonderful, welcoming Inn nestled in old town St. Augustine. The location is quaint and on most accounts, away from the hustle and bustle of daily activities. It and her staff welcome you upon arrival. Adequate parking, close to shopping and sights, wonderful breakfasts, coffees and staff. The front desk will assist you with anything! Comparatively speaking, with Casa Monica downtown, St. Francis is a better value. Granted, you essentially are comparing apples to oranges and Casa Monica is quite lovely, St. Francis is simply more inviting. If looking for a relaxing place to rest and relax during your stay at St. Augustine, consider St. Francis Inn. On a side note, you might want to choose a room opposite of St. George street. Traffic noise as well as pedestrian noise (at times) can get loud. Thanks for the nice visit, and be sure to visit with Zeke. He is a very loving cat who visits the courtyard regularly.

I stayed just one night but will again. The location is perfect for shopping and seeing the old town's sights. The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgable about the area. They provided a real breakfast, not the continental fare and I loved the happy hour featuring local wines. There were guests of all ages and all were considerate. I only wish I booked a longer stay!

St. Francis Inn (and sister properties) are our "go to" B&Bs for St.Augustine - whether it's a a spring or fall history tour, a summer beach excursion, or, in this case, a romantic winter holiday to celebrate the Christmas Season (and my birthday). The city was bedecked in twinkle-lights and the weather was clear, crisp and COLD (for Florida), so we took full advantage of the fireplace in our beautiful room - as did our Westie, Tully. By day, we enjoyed the sites of the City and nearby beaches, but made certain to return for Social Hour for the scrumptious snacks and a glass of wine! In the evenings we dined at one of the excellent restaurants, within walking distance - and strolled the festive, twinkling streets (while Tully was snuggled by the fire). Each morning, a hearty and delicious breakfast awaited us - featuring one of the many well-known recipes of the inn, a new one each day. Great Stay. HIGHLY recommend!

The staff bent over backwards to make our stay enjoyable. High quality breakfast. Limited quantities of the evening snack, better get there early! Free bicycle use was a money saver. The bed was VERY comfortable. I would recommend this Inn. Jay McGathey

What a pleasant experience. The staff were so friendly and wanted to please in every way. Enjoyed it so much went back and will do so whenever possible.

The owners and staff go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable and you have everything you need during your stay. The home cooked food is excellent and the social hour and desert time in the evenings allow you to meet other great guests in a relaxed atmosphere if you want to. The Inn is in walking distance to the heart of the city and if you don't want to ever get in your car the whole stay you don't have to. There are Trolleys that take you almost anywhere you need to go. I have been here 2 times and plan on staying here any time I visit St. Augustine.

I absolutely love this B&B! It was my second time staying here. The first time, I reserved the balcony room and this time, I reserved Lily's room. Lily's room is smaller but absolutely cozy!

Nicest B&B we've stayed at. Anne's room had a very small water closet. Staff was the best.

The St Francis Inn is lovely. We enjoyed our stay very much. I would suggest another room though. The courtyard is very private however the bath room is smaller than it appears in the pics. There is also a noise issue every step the people take in the room above you is heard . Service food and cleanliness is excellent.

We were warmly welcomed. The service was great. The room was clean and comfortable, but the bed was lumpy. It was quiet, relaxing, and we enjoyed the porch.

My husband and I visit St. Augustine several times a year and love the area. To celebrate him turning 50, I booked the Wilson Suite at St. Francis Inn and we were blown away! The staff was incredible and worked with me on several surprises including a home made birthday cake waiting for him in our suite when we checked in and room service breakfast for his birthday morning. Heather & Kelly were great and our week was so relaxing and the amenities were impressive. Bikes to ride, a few free attraction tickets, St. Augustine Shuttle passes available for purchase right at the inn, off street parking, beach property to visit and the food was INCREDIBLE! Great hospitality and comfort in this B&B for our base to explore lovely St. Augustine! The patio was a great place to relax and meet other guests.

This was my first stay in a bed & breakfast, and I have to say - I'm hooked. The staff was incredibly friendly, including the owners (I'd seen on tripadvisor that the owners were "no where to be found" in some reviews). The food - breakfast, social hour & breakfast - was AMAZING! We stayed during the week, so didn't get to experience the weekend brunches, but I can only imagine!! We stayed over Halloween, an incredibly popular time in St. Augustine because of it's history. St. Francis Inn is very popular at this time, because of it's reported "paranormal" happenings. We booked our stay about 3 months in advance, and the only room open was Marie's room. If you read some of the other tripadvisor comments, Marie's room is said to be quite noisy in the morning because it backs up to the kitchen. This is true. If you enjoy nightlife and do not want to wake up before/at 7 am, this is not the room for you. I was "forewarned", so the room "met my expectation". When we left, we were still able to keep our car there and use the restrooms. We got to peek into some of the rooms that people hadn't checked into yet, and they were GORGEOUS! Don't let my review of that specific room deter you. The walk to the beginning of King George Street only takes less than 10 minutes (and there are gorgeous houses to see along the way). Once you've reached the "shopping" street. Because it's set back a bit, it's VERY peaceful for a city with SO much to do. For those who don't want to walk, take a trolley! They stop at the oldest house, which is a block away (Flagler & Lightner Museum are also within a 5 minute walk). When we make our way back to St. Augustine (we live about 3 hours away), this is where we will stay. From now on, bed & breakfasts will be my choice of lodging in other areas. Based on this experience, the lodging was PART of the experience and not just a place to lay your head.

The Inn was very quaint and romantic... the surroundings and ammenities were wonderful. The staff very helpful and accommodating. The newly remodled garden room was magnificant.

The staff at the St. Francis Inn were warm and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and the lattes were an added treat. The Inn was within walking distance of shops and restaurants. Day passes to the St. Augustine Athletic club, light house tickets and access to a bathroom, beach towels and chairs at the Beach Bungalow were an extra bonus. The ballerina room was clean but outdated.

It was our first stay at a true bed and breakfast and I really enjoyed it! It offered a lot and the staff was very helpful. The place was very clean and well decorated. I was amazed how busy this little inn was and yet it remained a quiet retreat from Down Town St. Augustine. I plan on staying at St. Francis inn on my next trip!

We only stayed here for 2 nights but it was amazing. Booked to go back again in January when it is cooler so we can explore St Augustines. Cannot praise St Francis Inn enough for making us feel so welcome,looking forward to coming back. Travellers from the U.K.

Stayed in Garden Hideaway. Room recently renovated-still a few kinks-outside light not working but worked out great as we brought our dog with. Staff is very very helpful and accomodating-arranged for early dessert as we had theatre plans. Location is great for walking the Old City. Food is wonderful-homemade lattes at breakfast-afternoon appetizers-plenty of options for breakfast. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again if ever return to St. Augustine.

Overall the stay was very enjoyable. I would definitely go back, and plan on doing that.

This was our second stay at St Francis Inn and we absolutely love it. When we first got there we had forgotten our coupon and gift certificate. They were able to look up the gift certificate in their system and take our word for it that we had a coupon and applied the savings to our bill. There is alway ice and ice water in the lobby. At 5:00-6:00PM is happy hour with a great snack and all sorts of wines. Later they had dessert. We had missed dessert but Heather saw us out relaxing by the pool and asked if she could bring us some. Breakfast this morning was wonderful. We had egg-in-a-basket and hash brown casserole with a cinnamon roll and lots of other stuff. We loved the courtyard and spent a lot of time there including eating meals. October is a wonderful time to be there. The rooms are quaint, comfortable and unique. Everything is clean and well decorated. The entire staff goes out of their way to help and are very friendly at every opportunity. We will go back every chance we get.

My husband and I had a wonderful babymoon in St. Augustine. I was 36 weeks pregnant and we live in Jacksonville...so we did not want to go very far. St. Francis BB was a wonderful, quiet and quaint get away. Wish we could have stayed longer. The Sunday brunch was delicious and we were able to walk to the Basilica for Mass following brunch. It was wonderful. 100% recommend. Would stay here again in a heart beat.

The staff at the St. Francis Inn was wonderful! They were very helpful with directions and recommended great restaurants. Everyting about this B and B was wonderful, from the time we checked in until we left! We would definitely stay there again and will recommend it to others.

We received a gift certificate to the St. Francis Inn and decided to use it about two months before the arrival of our first child. We had a great time in St. Augustine, and the Inn added to that. The staff was friendly and helpful; the Inn was extremely clean; and the walk to the Historic District took us under 10 minutes, even with my being very pregnant. We had a great time and will definitely recommend the St. Francis Inn to anyone traveling to St. Augustine in the future.

My husband and I recently stayed at the St. Francis Inn while visiting St. Augustine on business. We have never stayed in a B&B, but after our absolutely wonderful stay there we will be looking at staying at other B&B's. They provided a very nice afternoon/early evening of light snacks including hot ones with complimentary wine and beer. Breakfast was also a very nice buffet with both hot and cold items to choose. The location was within walking distance of the various historic points around town and all in all a really nice place to stay. In additiion, the staff was always friendly and helpful. I should also mention they have a little beach shack that provide complementary towels and cold water if you want to go the beach. The St. Francis Inn is definitely a come back to place.

This is the second time I've stayed at the SFI. I've had a lovely time on both occasions. The location is outstanding and very evocative. I enjoy the walks through the historic district to and from the downtown scene. But the best thing about the SFI is the actual building -- try to stay in the Balcony Suite! The next best thing is the generosity of the service and the perks -- lots of yummy snacks and alcoholic drinks. Plus, the friendly staff really encourages you to enjoy the full benefits of the inn. You are made to feel quite at home! Will come back again!

We enjoyed a five-night stay in the wonderful St. Francis Inn. The Wilson Suite was spacious and so very comfortable. The breakfasts were delicious and varied. Coffee and hot tea were always available. Evening desserts were yummy. The staff were excellent, friendly, and helpful. The location is great - we walked just about everywhere. We also took a day trip to the beach where they have several rental units. Inn guests have access to a complete bathroom, beach towels, beach chairs, cold water, and free parking. We cannot imagine a finer place to stay than the St. Francis Inn.

We stayed in the Balcony Room. It was perfect for the quiet get away. The tub could use additional grab bars for those of us with physical challenges. The food was excellent and the staff very helpful. We will return again!

My husband and I stayed at St Francis Inn for our honeymoon. We love this Inn! It is now on our list of "Most Return To" places! Everything was wonderful. My girlfriend and I went their for our anniversary and enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, perfect location to walk anywhere in the old city and numerous perks included at the Inn. The bikes were always available, the social hour with wine and appetizers were great and access to the beach house with chairs, towells and a restroom were fantastic. If I were going to Saint Augustine again I would only stay at the St. Francis Inn.

Within walking distance to old St Augustine. Staff was very helpful. And unexpectedly it had a marvelous pool for a nice dip on a very hot day after exploring the town and lighthouse

Though it rained most of our stay it was ok because Saffron's suite and its front porch were very comfortable with room to spare. All the staff members were extremely helpful and friendly providing great advice and directions for places to eat and see. Will definitely stay again.

My wife and I have stayed at the St. Francis on four separate occasions. We have always been impressed with the accommodations, the staff, and with St. Augustine. God willing, we will certainly stay at the St. Francis Inn again in the future.

We have stayed at several B & B 's in the area, and this is absolutley the best! The Inn is amazing, a beautiful courtyard, and the surrounding area is quiet and clean. They serve some kind of snack, food or drink all day, and they aren't chintzy like some places are. The evening social hour has real snacks and good wine. The people that work there are genuinely friendly and helpful. We stayed in Elizabeth and the room was very comfortable, and spacious. A 100% definate recommendation for B & B travelers.

Recently met my daughter from Savannah as I came from Palm Beach and we loved the discovery of this charming INN complete with helpful smiles and bicycles to explore this fine city. Parking was a breeze in their side lot and the knowledge of why this fine Inn's beginning made it an extra special two nights!

I've stayed at the St. Francis Inn before and have no complaints. The staff is amazing, very helpful and every need you might have is already thought of and taken care for you. The rooms are "seasoned" like every aspect of downtown St. Augustine and this makes the stay even more charming. The food is very tasty, along with social hour, dessert hour, and the availability of snacks/tea/coffee throughout the day. There are bikes to borrow and ride around town, games and movies to borrow, sherry in the rooms, and free access to the beach. If you have anything to complain about, then you are looking too hard! I recommend this B&B to everyone I know just because I feel at home when I stay there. There aren't any pest issues or noise complaints, and there is even ample parking. I visit St. Augustine at least once a year and never have the need to stay anywhere else :D

My family had a wonderful stay at the St. Francis Inn. We booked 4 rooms for family and friends attending our son's wedding in August 2012. The service, food, and staff were undeniably the best in the business. Attention to detail and all the comforts of home, never missing a beat. I would suggest you use caution in the room selection, which varied quite a bit. We stayed in the very lovely Elizabeth Suite which had plenty of room. Some of the rooms that our party chose were extremely small. One in particular was so small and so musty smelling that I requested my mother be moved. I upgraded the room to a much newer, larger room across the street, which was lovely! Although they were extremely accommodating I don't feel the original room was acceptable to rent at all. Maybe a little updating and change of carpet would alleviate the musty odor. Bottom line - wonderful stay, great value, but word of caution on room selection.

We had a wonderful stay at the Inn which included a comfortable room, helpful and entertaining staff and most of all Zeke. The food was great and plentiful. It felt like home.

Celebrated our 5 year anniversary and couldn't have been happier. They offer so many extras, by our first night (of 3) we had already decided we would have to come back again.

A special bottle of Champagne and a Birthday card awaited us as we entered our room upon check-in. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. Our room was very pleasant and smelled nice. We absolutely loved the Sherry that awaited us every evening on our coffee table. Yum!! The food was delish from the Breakfast to the evening desserts (what a nice ending to each day). We will recommend it to others.

We had a very nicely updated room in a old historic home with lots of character - all within easy walking distance of old town St. Augustine. The breakfasts were amazing and the early evening snack (with beer and wine included) was a great way to wind down after a day of sightseeing. The flask of sherry in the room was a nice touch too. We would definitely recommend this B&B.

WE LOVED IT! Staff, food, location - all were top notch. It would be nice to have some way to hang clothing (at least in the Ballerina room. not sure about other rooms) - even if it is a hook & hanger on the back of the door. We truely felt at home. The accommodations were quaint and lovely. We enjoyed our stay very much. It was great to have a place to come back to and relax after walking around ST. Augustine and to find refreshments and goodies available to us.

The place was beautiful, clean, and homey. Fantastic location; in down town but not on a busy street. The staff was extremely warm, friendly and helpful with questions. The complimentary breakfast and dessert were delicous. I wish it was a little cheaper so that it might become a more frequent stay, but it is still definitley worth the money.

A very old guesthouse,with a history reaching back to 18th century and with a quaint charm, lovingly restored. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Beautiful shady garden for breakfast. Large parking lot. Convenient location to reach all sights on foot, the farthest, Castillo de San Marcos, on the other side of Old Town, in 15-20min.

We found this B&B online. We had never stayed at a B&B before. This was a wonderful experience. Great service, wonderful breakfast, cozy and clean room. We loved having the use of the bikes. It's a perfect area to bike a short ride to downtown. Would definitely return to this B&B!

Great area! Old rooms very old. The breakfast was great! But the service was not great. It was sad that on social hour the wine bottle were empty and no one was there to make sure the area was replenish same applies to breakfast. We were there at least 30 minutes after social and breakfast began. If service improves ST Francis would be worth the stay and money spent.

My boyfriend and I were recently talking about how wonderful it would be to stay at a bed & breakfast downtown Saint Augustine. Originally, we planned on picking a different location until I stumbled across an ad for the Saint Francis in on the computer. As soon as we saw "haunted bed and breakfast"; We knew we would be staying here. Upon arrival, we were greeted by friendly staff members who seemed more than overjoyed; Which was lovely. When we got to our room we were amazed at how beautiful it really was. It looked almost completely different than the pictures we saw online; But in a good way. One of the many things that grabbed our attention was the welcome letter. Plus, the complimentary wine, food and bicycles were absolutely perfect! We had just expected one free meal at breakfast but as the day progressed we grew to love the place even more. The free movie selections were also great, the food was delicious! The history of the place is also very interesting as well; Including the story of the cute little grey cat, Zeke. We promised each other that we would come back again and stay in every room. We even joked about asking the staff if we could live there! haha. We will definitely be staying again. :)

When I booked a getaway at the St. Francis Inn in St. Augustine I really thought the amenities listed on the website (complimentary with your reservation), were too good to be true -- but they WERE true! I was blown away by the "bend over backward" service by the staff, wonderful breakfast and evening beverages and snacks, comfortable and charming room and grounds, and last but not least -- complimentary use of Huffy Cruiser bikes! The St. Francis Inn will ALWAYS be my "go to" place in St. Augustine!

Very welcoming staff who made us feel at home immediately and informed us of St Augustine's things to see and do; restaurant recommendations very helpful. Food was delicious: their daily Social Hour with appetizers, homemade desserts later in the evening, and wonderful breakfasts in the mornings. The Overlook Room was charming and very comfortable, although a bit pricey; it was worth it to stay right in the historic area and be able to walk to many attractions, shops, pubs, and restaurants. Also, the St. Francis is located so near to the sightseeing trolley that we used it on multiple days to get around. Unfortunately, didn't have enough time to borrow bicycles to get around or to go out to their private beach area. Would love to go back!

We stayed at the St. Francis Inn after renewing our marriage vows... it was a wonderful place for our second honeymoon. :) We stayed in the Garden Hideaway... very private... loved the hot tub! The food was outstanding and we were very impressed with all the amenities. There was always something available to eat or drink. The staff was extremely helpful, attentive and friendly. Fabulous!!!

My boyfreind and I took a two day vaction to St Augustine and wanted the whole experiance, so we decided to stay at the St. Francis Inn. It was the best decision we ever made! The staff made us feel like we had known them forever! The breakfast was delicious, and the inn was so warm and inviting. We will definatly be going back for the holidays!

My husband and I had not stayed at a bed and breakfast before. This place was perfect. It very much exceeded our expectations. Last time we were in St Augustine we stayed at the Santa Monica and were not impressed with it at all. We were so relaxed and felt very comfortable being at the St Francis Inn. Everyone was so friendly and accomodating.Have already booked another stay in the same room we were in for later this year. This time for 3 nights instead of just 2. We decided on St. Augustine for a relaxing/romantic three days and we couldn't have been more pleased with the St. Francis Inn. We have stayed in many B& B's and St. Francis by far has been the best. The most amazing and pampering staff. Refreshments and a friendly face all day long. All the ladies at the Inn go aboove and beyond to make you feel welcomed and help with even RAINY day advise! My wife and I spent a wonderful weekend in St. Augustine at the St. Francis Inn. The Inn is located downtown within walking distance of everything. The staff is wonderful and cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable. We really loved the beach access the Inn has set up. They own a beach cottage (as well as a house and bungalow) where you can park and walk to the beach (which is just yards away). They provide towels, chairs and access to a full bathroom including shower. Complimentary bottled water is also available. The B & B was very pleasant and we enjoyed our stay. The rooms are small and the photographs make them look larger. Shower and toilet very small. The service was good but as you would expect for the price.

I always enjoy coming to St. Francis Inn. I'm making it a fun goal to stay in every room. I most recently stayed in Marie's room. Everything was wonderful from the welcoming staff to the delicious food prepared at each social event throughout the day. I always love coming here, and I will continue to do so.

The St Francis Inn was by far the best B & B we have been to in a long time. The staff was very helpful and friendly and the accommodations and amenities were superior. The food was excellent not only do they offer a hot and delicious breakfast but a social hour with free adult beverages and appitizers at 5pm as well as delicious deserts at 8pm. The room was nice but nothing special. I felt that the air was making myself and my husband congested. Possibly in need of new air filters. Could use some updating, but all in all a nice place to stay.

This B&B was located within walking distance of everything to see in St Augustine. When you returned from sightseeing they always had drinks and snacks available and a happy hour and desserts in the evening. The breakfast buffet was delicious. They also have special parking spaces available if you go to the beach. All in all this is a great place to see a great city. Yvonne Schweitzer

This was our second visit to St. Francis and we are already planning our next visit. This is a very nice Inn that offers many room choices. So far we have stayed in two rooms and liked them both very much. The large beds and Jacuzzi tubs are very nice additions. They offer an amazing breakfast each morning and a nice social hour and end the evening off with deserts that are very tasty. The staff is always very helpful and courteous, especially Heather who kindly assisted us with many questions about local places to eat at and visit. One of the hidden perks is that the inn is far enough from the rustle and bustle of the downtown area that it is quiet, but it is close enough that a short walk gets you to anywhere. The St. Francis also has free onsite parking, which was one of the original reasons we chose this Inn over others nearby, that coupled with the other amenities, such as free bikes, the breakfasts, social hour, deserts, a beach house that is fee to park at, and many others I can’t remember off hand, this B&B is the best value in St. Augustine.

We had a 3 night stay at the St Francis. Everything was wonderful. A step back in time with all the conveniences. It was our first visit to St Augustine and the staff could not have been more friendly and helpful while we were planning our daily itinerary. Little things like the glycerin soaps in the room and the sheets, OMG!! We had a wonderful time and we will be back.

My friends and I stayed at St. Francis Inn from May 28 to May 31st. This was a first experiece for my friends at a B&B and they are now sold on the idea of staying at one. The service was excellent, the friendliness of the staff was superb. The Inn was close to the historic district, everything was within walking distance. We will stay again if in the St. Augustine area.

Wonderful b&b! The room was clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom was small but shower was nice size; all sorts of extra amenities included such as free sherry and mints in the room and always something to snack or drink in the lobby area; the breakfast was phenomenal; for anyone who enjoys b&bs, this place is superb!

Let me start by saying "we are not usually B+B types, we usually stay in hotels". However, as we were looking for something to do over the Memorial Day weekend, we received an email from "VisitFlorida" and the St. Francis Inn was displayed. After some research, we decided to book the weekend. Overall, the experience was excellent. The staff member at check-in was amazing. The room was very nice and the amenities included in the room rate made the rate well worth the value if one really takes advantage of all of it. The location was a reasonable walk to the Historic section of Saint Augustine and there are many restaurants and things to do in that area. There are a couple of very minor points worth noting. The other staff members we encountered, while good at their jobs and very professional, were not as warm as the person at check-in. Also, they did not seem to take overly seriously the oncoming tropical storm. Being Floridians and watching the forecasts, we checked out one day early (on our dime, which I expected and understood) to avoid the storm. This was a "tough" decision on their part as they had to weigh up the risks of causing undue concern vs safety. Saying that, the lack of concern for the oncoming storm did match most of the folks downtown that same day as we did a few things before leaving the area). Overall, if one likes the B+B experience, this place is one we suggest.

We will be returning to this place, the staff could not do enough for us and all the other guests. On a quiet street but still very close toall in the historical district. The rooms are beautiful and all have their own twist on comfort. The off street parking was a bonus plus the trolley bus stops just around the corner so the car stayed in the car park the entire time we were there. Booked after viewing website. Service & food was better than expected. Environment was peaceful and quiet at night. Very convenient location. Walked to most points of interest. Our only complaint is that the mattress was not comfortable. Would have stayed a third night but could not tolerate another night of restless sleep.

We just stayed two nights and I was wishing we could stay more. We definitely will stay there again if we're ever in the area. The people who worked there were SO kind and helpful. She seemed happy to offer their service and truly want you to have a great experience. The various food and beverage services were my favorite feature. You won't go hungry there! St. Augustine is one of our favorite places, and the St. Francis Inn is partly why. We love staying at the Inn and occasionally at the Beach House. The breakfasts are delicious and the people are wonderful.

Positives: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at St. Francis Inn! We reserved a third floor room which was immaculately clean. The bed was large and very comfortable. The Inn is situated just outside all the major hustle and bustle of the tourist activity but an easy walk to everything you want to see in Old St. Augustine. If walking is a problem for you, you can buy tickets and go just around the corner to the Oldest House Museum and catch the trolley which will take you to every point of interest in the historic district. The happy hour and evening dessert times were pleasant additions to the already great service. Breakfast was delicious each morning! The private parking area was a plus. We liked the fact that they also provided parking at the beach, along with chairs, towels, and water, if we had chosen to access it. Negatives - Since it is an OLD building there is some noise factor ...creaks from the staircase and doors opening and closing as other guests return late and outside street noise (horse and carriages, street sweepers, etc...), which can disrupt your sleep if you are a light sleeper. The large tub/shower in our room had no handrail and you had to step high to get in (which can be a hazard for some who have back or hip problems or are elderly). Also, the shower water temperature fluctuated from very hot to very cold - not conducive to leg shaving, girls! Ha! Bottonline: St. Francis is a lovely old Inn with excellent service and a great location and we would return for another stay as well as recommend it to others. Lisa and Nate -Jesup, GA.

We were greeted by the best staff. The food experience we wonderful. The location was perfect but best of all was the hospitality. It was exactly like it was described, very quaint and very welcoming.

First time at a B & B. The room was adorable, bed comfy and cozy. Loved the little touches, mints on the pillow, sherry in the room, fireplace.Stayed in the "Courtyard". Very quiet. Only down side was the people in the room above were constantly walking back and forth. Loved the social hour with wine, beer and snacks. Even my boyfriend who is not big on socializing met 2 couples from his home town and had some nice conversation. Had a nice waffle breakfast and great cappucino coffee. Would highly recommend it

This is an exceptional B&B with fantastic amenities; good food, nice location, even the pull-out couch mattress was great!

We Stay here annually, and although it ia a bit pricey, we have found it to be the best B&B for ambience and amenities.

Location, people, food and accommodations were first class and comfortable. I particularly liked having lunch, (from a locale cafe) on our "private porch" outside our room.

We were not disappointed at all with our stay at the St Francis Inn. Built in 1791, it's old, and that lends to the charm. The Innkeeping staff were great, I can only rave, about the room, the service and the amenties. After walking and driving through town, I did not see another Inn that looked nearly as quaint or remote. What's important for St Augustine? Parking, discounts, quiet, location (near trolley stop) and the St Francis has it all.

From the moment we entered St. Francis Inn, we were made to feel welcomed and at home. The Inn was clean and inviting; the staff friendly and helpful. We stayed in Elizabeth's Suite and thoroughly enjoyed the extra space to relax, read and watch TV. The bed was very comfortable. The Inn is located within walking distance of just about everything, which is a real plus. We have enjoyed staying in B & Bs whenever a suitable one has been located in our travel area. St. Francis Inn rates as one of the best regarding breakfast selections, availability of snacks and desserts - good value for the price of the room.

The Beach Cottage provided a great place to rendezvous with our two adult sons. We used many amenities, including the WiFi, full size fridge in the kitchen, and jacuzzi bathtub. We enjoyed the breakfast at the main inn and got a recommendation for a French Restaurant in town where we had a delicious meal.

We stayed for a long anniversary weekend and just loved it! I could not get over how comfortable we felt. A big plus for us was how helpful the staff was and this B&B is a "green" B&B, which was so very appreciated.

My stay at the St. Francis was a great experience. From the detailed directions I was given on the phone while approaching the Inn on my day of arrival, to the friendly staff and the exquisite meals prepared! The St. Francis and all of their staff are a Class Act. It is a great location because it is an easy walk to the historic district, but far enough away so you don't feel like you are packed in with all the tourists. I was at first, taken back, when the staff called me by my first name my first day at the Inn. I had to turn around to see who knew my name. They really take the time and effort to make you feel right at home. I would highly recommend the St. Francis for your next stay in St. Augustine!

The purpose for our visit was to explore St. Augustine. My husband had business there on Friday 2/10, we extended our stay to learn about the history of the city. We are from the west coast of Florida. The location of St. Francis Inn is excellent for walking or biking the town, we did not move our vehicle the entire weekend. The grounds are very attractive and well maintained. The dining room was well maintained, food excellent and kitchen staff accommodating and friendly. The front desk though busy, handled everything efficiently. The Courtyard Room would be the only drawback of the trip. In the bathroom the tub and commode are extremely close together. The size of the bathroom could be a problem for some folks. Over flow towels are placed on the back of the commode. There is no shelving outside of the shower for toiletries. The sink is located outside the bathroom near the queen bed. The only usable mirror in the room is above the sink, I am 5'2' it was a stretch for me. The other mirror was located in the back of the wardrobe but you had to hang your clothing in front of it. The glass tables in the room were sparkling but the wood front of the bathroom sink was extremely dusty as were the blinds and baseboards.

We want to apologize again for the issues you experienced in the Courtyard Room during your recent visit. As we stated in the letter we sent you (shortly after your departure) which included a Gift Certificate to use toward a future visit: we have purchased additional towel bars and a shelf for the restroom and have hung an antique mirror (lower)in the bedroom. We very much appreciated all of your suggestions and are always looking for ways to improve the guest experience.
