Enter the house that was the home of E.B. Alling, a well-known Orange City mayor, for over 40 years and go back in time to the formative years of Orange City. Learn how Orange City was founded during the expansion of modern civilization into Florida along a prominent transportation route provided by the St. John's River. Hospitality being her strength, Nan's warmth and love will immediately make you feel like a close relative who has come home. You won't want to leave. We look forward to providing the opportunity and environment that will allow you to accomplish everything you're looking for from your vacation.

We only stayed for 1 night, but wish we had stayed the week! The location of the Alling House was easy to find and convenient for accessing downtown De Land and all the fantastic restaurants we discovered during our visit. We stayed in the Homestead Cottage which provided comfortable seating as that is all we needed after a hectic Christmas. There were plenty of movies, books, games provided, but we just loved walking around in the courtyard and simply hanging out! I can totally picture renting the other cabins for a family gathering. We will be back to enjoy a longer stay and eat at the Tropi Shack (our new favorite for Cuban Sandwiches).

We were only able to stay one night due to previous plans and we wish we could stay longer. We will definately be back for a longer stay. Gerald and Nan are wonderful people, we were greated by Gerald on arrival and given a short history of the house and grounds. Our cabin "The Wilderness Cabin" was beautiful and the wild west decorations were fantastic. The rooms are more than comfortable, very clean and they have everything you need for your stay. The grounds are beautiful and a very nice palce to just walk around and relax. We will be back for a longer weekend stay and look forward to enjoying Gerald and Nan's hospitality.

We have stayed at Ailing House B&B for many years while visiting John Knox Village, Nan & Gerald are excellent hosts, available for answers and serve a most excellent breakfast. The room we stay in is always clean, there has never been a problem. This is a B&B we look forward to staying at.

My husband and I stayed at the Frontier cabin for a weekend. We were amazed how Nan and Gerald were able to furnish the cabin with so many beautiful details. The property is peaceful, the breakfast was delicious. We had a wonderful time.

My husband and I made a last minute decision to stay in the area during a recent visit with our daughter at Stetson University. Reservations made the night before our arrival were confirmed first thing in the morning. We were greeted at check-in and given a tour and brief history of the home as well as a tour of the grounds and one of the cottages the next morning. We stayed in the main house which was quiet and comfortable. The private bathrooms were spacious and updated. A family style breakfast allowed guest to meet one another. The baked french toast was delicious when paired with juice, coffee, eggs, fruit, muffins and bacon/sausage. The price was great! We have already decided to book another stay next month.
