Enter the house that was the home of E.B. Alling, a well-known Orange City mayor, for over 40 years and go back in time to the formative years of Orange City. Learn how Orange City was founded during the expansion of modern civilization into Florida along a prominent transportation route provided by the St. John's River. Mr. G and Nan were so welcoming and accommodating. Loved the tour of the Main house and all the nick nacks. 3 of us in the Homestead Cottage was perfect. Warning get use to bending head at top of spiral stairway (I only bumped my head once). Although the cottage had all the utensils we needed to make a breakfast had we gone shopping for it, the $7.00 breakfast at the Main house was worth way more than $7.00!!! I know we will be returning with more giggling girlfriend in the future to tryout one of the other 4 cottages. Thanks Nan and Mr. G for a truly blessed home.

We just want to say thank you for all the work you put into making our stay very comfortable and welcoming. You thought of everything, with snacks and bikes ready for our use. The cottage was cozy and artistically decorated. We loved how each cottage was different, with its own special theme and furniture. We had a beautiful view from our front porch. The whole place was covered in a blanket of shady trees and had a gorgeous field of oaks. There is even a romantic and pretty gazebo, ideal for weddings. There was also a side walk to take a stroll through the all of the cottages which is also helpful to move luggage. The place had a peaceful fountain and a two fire pits, complete with free wood. Nature around the property was dazzling with life. The cottage provided many necessities and had much entertainment, like board games, cards, books and movies. We also had the breakfast, which was out-of-this-world-amazing! We really appreciate all the effort and time you put into this, but mostly for your loving hearts. Our vacation was very relaxing and calm. This was a remarkable experience and we definitely hope to come here again !.... With grateful hearts , The Harbour family from Palm Bay , FL

At last the perfect place to stay in Deland! It's all the little personal touches and excellent service we received here that really makes this review a 5. Our daughter attended Stetson University for the past 4 years and didn't realize there was a place as nice as this so close by. I would highly recommend Alling House B&B to all Stetson parents and anyone for that matter visiting the Orange City/Deland area.

Thanks to Gerald and Nan for another great stay. We stay here usually twice a year when visiting my mother and sisters in the area. The kids look forward to sleeping on the bunk beds and the little boxes of cereal, a decadent treat for them. Clean, comfortable, quiet and secluded enough to allow our kids to play in the yard without our needing to hover. A great place to stay. We have never eaten on site so it met my expectation of not having eaten there.

These people are so friendly and helpful. They really made us feel at home. The room was great, breakfast was great and our trip with your canoe was outstanding.

Stayed in the Homestead Cottage. Kristi was always available and helpful for any concern. Detailed cleanliness, met any need you could think of with supplies. Quiet neighborhood away from busy streets. We will certainly be staying here again when we are in the area!

Great hosts; took us on a tour and shared the history of the house with us. Excellent accommodations, well kept and wonderful decor in the "themed" rooms. Provided every amenity we could possibly need, right down to the Q-tips. Delicious homemade breakfast, more than we could eat (and that's saying a lot). Room rate quite reasonable. Already planning our stay for next year.
