Enter the house that was the home of E.B. Alling, a well-known Orange City mayor, for over 40 years and go back in time to the formative years of Orange City. Learn how Orange City was founded during the expansion of modern civilization into Florida along a prominent transportation route provided by the St. John's River. Hospitality being her strength, Nan's warmth and love will immediately make you feel like a close relative who has come home. You won't want to leave. We look forward to providing the opportunity and environment that will allow you to accomplish everything you're looking for from your vacation.

It may be a cliche, but it is so true at the Alling House. Nan and Gerald are friendly, courteous and caring. Breakfast is always outstanding. The options for accommodations fit a wide range of travelers' needs. I've stayed here 1 to 2 times a year since they opened, and members of my family do the same. We've never been disappointed!

Gerald and Nan Hill are warm and friendly hosts with a beautiful family which you might be fortunate enough to meet. Their respect for the history of the area shows in the manner in which they've preserved as much of the main house as possible, while making the place very comfortable and compliant to modern codes. I stayed in the Green Room but I caught a glimpse of the Gold Room one morning. I think I would pick that one on another just me trip. I got to see three of the four cottages in the back. They were all beautiful and I would love to stay in the Railroad Cottage if I had a family. Breakfasts were fantastic! Fresh fruit, sausage, bacon, juice, Nan's homemade souffles, casseroles, and cinnamon muffins. It was all good. Should the weather break badly, they have a generator to keep the lights on. I'm very fortunate to have found Alling House online. It was only a few $ more than the national chain hotel and offers so much more. Joe Stanko, Chicago

My husband and I wanted to to just get away and so many things were booked. I searched for a Bed & Breakfast and came across the Alling House. After reading the reviews I decided to take the plunge (without knowing anything about the area at all). Boy were were pleasantly surprised!!! From the moment we got there to the second that we left we were smiling from ear to ear!! The property is beautiful and the history is intriguing. Gerald & Nan (the owners) are so gracious and hospitable!! The room was PERFECT and the breakfast was delicious. The breakfast setup was so nice!! The Alling House is DEFINITELY (very much) WORTH it!!! The Rodriguez Fam

We only stayed for 1 night, but wish we had stayed the week! The location of the Alling House was easy to find and convenient for accessing downtown De Land and all the fantastic restaurants we discovered during our visit. We stayed in the Homestead Cottage which provided comfortable seating as that is all we needed after a hectic Christmas. There were plenty of movies, books, games provided, but we just loved walking around in the courtyard and simply hanging out! I can totally picture renting the other cabins for a family gathering. We will be back to enjoy a longer stay and eat at the Tropi Shack (our new favorite for Cuban Sandwiches).

We were only able to stay one night due to previous plans and we wish we could stay longer. We will definately be back for a longer stay. Gerald and Nan are wonderful people, we were greated by Gerald on arrival and given a short history of the house and grounds. Our cabin "The Wilderness Cabin" was beautiful and the wild west decorations were fantastic. The rooms are more than comfortable, very clean and they have everything you need for your stay. The grounds are beautiful and a very nice palce to just walk around and relax. We will be back for a longer weekend stay and look forward to enjoying Gerald and Nan's hospitality.
