About

Enter the house that was the home of E.B. Alling, a well-known Orange City mayor, for over 40 years and go back in time to the formative years of Orange City. Learn how Orange City was founded during the expansion of modern civilization into Florida along a prominent transportation route provided by the St. John's River. Hospitality being her strength, Nan's warmth and love will immediately make you feel like a close relative who has come home. You won't want to leave. We look forward to providing the opportunity and environment that will allow you to accomplish everything you're looking for from your vacation.

I have stayed twice at the Alling House. Everything about it is great. Love the cottages and the rooms in the main house. Gerald and Nan are great hosts and really welcome you to their home. The breakfast is really good. Thank you for everything!

Weekend away

We enjoy staying in one of the cottages. Very peaceful. Well stocked. Close to Deland and the beach. Deland has some great dining options as well as a small town appeal.

Wonderful Stay!

We stayed in one of the cottages. They have everything you need. Full kitchen and hosts kindly leave orange juice, milk and coffee. Washer and dryer with laundry detergent. Great location! Close to Blue Springs and lots of great restaurants in DeLand.

Lovely quiet place

I stayed in one of the cottages. Nice that they are pet friendly. Feels like you are out away from it all, but you have everything you need within a 5-10 minute drive. I would stay here again.

Quiet and greenspace in the midst of everything

4.0 on June 12, 2016

I stayed in one of the cottages. It was wonderful that they are pet friendly, and my dog adjusted immediately. Fresh towels arrived everyday. The necessities for breakfast were in the refrigerator, as well as water and various kinds of coffee. A very quiet place to stay. I enjoyed the lovely gas fire pit right outside the cottage. Very charming, and lovely owners.

Weekend stay

The owners took a long needed vacation and the substitute innkeeper made us feel welcome, honored a JKV discount, and made a great breakfast, even accommodating my husband's special dietary needs. We'll stay again!

Great stay

Our cottage (Frontier) was nicely decorated and clean. We could have used the kitchen in the cottage to make breakfast, but the breakfasts served in the house for $7 extra were excellent. The hosts were friendly and knowledgeable about the area.

This was our second visit to Alling House and they did not disappoint. This time we stayed in the Railroad Cottage, a two bedroom suite with lots of railroad themed accoutrements. Quite an interesting cottage. The staff is always attentive and friendly. I recommend the Alling House highly. Steve Gordon
