We encourage our guests to communicate their concerns during their visit since our priority is to make all guests comfortable and happy.
In response to the guests’ directions concerns, although our website gives detailed directions, our guests missed the turn off. It should be noted we emailed the guests several times discussing directions as well as offering scenic points of interest along the route. We apologize for not giving clearer directions over the phone once the guests were lost.
It is common practice for hotels and B&B’s to require payment upon arrival when credit cards are not used. We, currently, do not accept credit cards.
We thank the guests for their suggestions regarding the luggage racks. They were updated after their visit.
The most surprising comment in the guests’ review was their dissatisfaction with the breakfast. Other guest’s comments have been “wonderful”, “delicious”, “way too much food” as seen by other reviews listed here. Our breakfasts consist of a cup (~5-8ozs) of fresh fruit, homemade breads, and a variety of egg or bread based entrees. We provide a generous portion for the average person with additional quantities available on the table. We usually have leftovers. In this case, the guests opted to skip dinner after a long flight from Europe. We think it is unfair to judge a meal’s quality under these circumstances

In our opinion, part of the B&B experience is the fellowship of other travelers at breakfast. We are a small B&B (only 3 rooms), so we elected to have a reasonable, fixed time for breakfast to enable all of the guests to enjoy that time together. We try to meet the special needs of our guests, as witnessed by the other reviews listed, here. This particular guest chose to play tennis early each morning, dealing with rush hour traffic in downtown Naples. We made him a special full hot breakfast an hour and a half earlier than our normal breakfast time during the ten (10) days he stayed with us.
As it clearly states in our site, we are in the country approximately 8 miles from downtown Naples. We offer the peace and quiet of being on 5 acres in the country while being only 20 minutes from downtown Naples not the 30-40 minutes that he stated. Our B&B is located in North Naples. This location is growing and offers activities and dining within 2-5 miles from our B&B.
Our pool is currently not heated. In the winter, the temperature of the pool is about the same temperature as the Gulf of Mexico. That temperature can be in the upper 60’s which is warmer than the Atlantic off of Cape Cod in the summer. People swim in the Gulf and people have swum in our pool. With over 100 guests visiting our B&B in the short time we have been in business, no other guest has complained about the non-heated pool.
This guest could have elected to stay in the hotel where he played tennis each morning. He could have swum in their heated pool and paid 4 times the price of our B&B without breakfast but he chose the greater value of our B&B.
We, of course, are sorry our guest was not pleased with some of his experiences in our B&B but we feel we responded well to his many other requests.
