Artfully blending the hushed privacy of a boutique hotel with the intimacy of a romantic bed and breakfast, The Tropical Inn is a haven of tranquility in a most unexpected central location: at the midpoint of legendary Duval Street, within walking distance of all Key West attractions. This romantic Key West bed and breakfast consists of the lovingly restored main house, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and three charming cottages clustered in a lush tropical garden with a fabulous waterfall pool and spa. Meticulously clean, professionally designed interior and garden spaces are tastefully furnished in a tropical motif evocative of the European colonial era in the East and West Indies. Rooms at this lovely Key West inn have private baths, queen and king size beds, minifridges, ceiling fans, air conditioning, telephone, cable TV, and Wi-Fi Internet access. A microwave oven is centrally located for the convenience of guests. Most rooms feature adjacent porches or decks, and three Garden Cottage Suites have very private outdoor areas with their own spas! A tantalizing expanded continental breakfast buffet is served each morning on the garden terrace. This hospitable Key West B&B is a family owned and operated establishment. An emphasis on guest comfort, personal service, and attention to detail is evident throughout this charming Florida Keys bed and breakfast.
The Gypsy Mermaid's Escape is adjacent the upstairs veranda, providing a convenient place to relax and people-watch as the every-changing scene on Duval Street passes by below. It is handsomely furnished and imaginatively accessorized in appointments gathered from faraway ports.
The Bamboo Room, a garden-toned haven of comfort, features a teak and cane poster bed with a palm tree quilt and an ample desk for writing your memoirs ... or just postcards from Paradise ...
The Key Lime Loft opens through French doors to its own private sun deck. It is furnished in natural woods mellowed by time and wicker the color of sun-bronzed honey, all under a sheltering vaulted ceiling. Poised high above the garden and rooftops of neighboring cottages, it's your romantic island tree house!
The Banyantree Suite has a spectacular overview of the garden and pool from its spacious private deck, where at night the stars seem close enough to touch. Featuring a 4-poster bed and an adjoining room with day bed, the suite comfortably accommodates three guests. Casually elegant indoor-outdoor living, classic Key West style!
The Mango Summer features an antique wicker armoire, a high, wrought-iron queen size bed, and sunlight filtered through Plantation shutters, coaxing you to linger awhile. And why not? You're on island time now.
The Poinciana Patio is a relaxing, poolview retreat with vaulted ceiling and French doors opening to the garden that "bring the outside in". The handsome wrought iron queen size bed and day bed -- both covered in bright, fiesta colors -- give this room a sunny air of carefree comfort.
The Coconut Cabana adjoins the back porch of the Main House, for a convenient outdoor area. Inside, a vaulted, open-beamed ceiling of pecky cypress and sleek, contemporary stone tile floors and bath create a secret island hideaway.
The Conch Courtyard has its own private, gated patio and the ambience of an Old Florida cottage -- but with every modern amenity. Artwork by locally proclaimed artist, Alan Maltz, graces the walls, which meet a dramatic vaulted ceiling of pecky cypress. The Conch Courtyard assures you a carefree, barefoot holiday on your island in the sun.
When it's got to be special, it's got to be The Tuckaway. One of the Garden Cottage Suites, luxurious, private ... bordering on decadent! King bed, exotic Indonesian furnishings, private reed-screened porch with whirlpool-for-two. Very romantic!
Seductive ambience unequalled in Key West! A king size Empress Bamboo bed draped in clouds of netting, a rainfall shower, stone tile floors, vaulted reed ceiling ... and a private patio with inground spa. How romantic can it get?
Entered by way of a quiet lane outside the garden gate, the Pineapple Hideaway is the most private of the Garden Cottage Suites. Stone tile floors and bath, vaulted bamboo reed ceiling, rainfall shower, a kitchenette, covered deck, and private patio with Jacuzzi make the Pineapple Hideaway perfect for a romantic escape from Reality!

We absolutely loved our time at the Tropical Inn. Perfect location, in the middle of Duval St. Convenient walking distance to just about everything. The room was great. Quiet, clean and very comfortable. The staff was outstanding. They made sure all was taken care of. Very helpful with recommendations for restaurants, bars and our shopping experience. We will definitely stay at the Tropical Inn the next time we visit Key West, FL.

Tropical Inn proved to be a great choice for our stay in Key West. First, location, location, location. The Inn is on Duval St and close to a number of places to see and eat; however, it is not downtown in the more noisy area of Duval. The service was friendly and helpful and offered suggestions for restaurants and activities. The property is well kept and includes a nice courtyard with pool and hot tub and an honor system bar. The rooms are a small but quaint with alots of character. The breakfast was a basic continental but there are a number of places close by that offeres full hot meals. We are hoping to return to Key West in the not too distant future and hope to stay at the Tropical Inn.

We had seen most of Key West when the children were growing up, but for this special anniversary, we looked for a place that was right in the middle of the art gallery district (on Duval Street), but was still a "hideaway". We weren't quite sure that it wouldn't be impossible to find a place that met both criteria - but we did, at the Tropical Inn! To top it all off, it was as carefully and as aesthtically appointed as the pictures made it out to be, combined with a "down home" feel, and the owners could hardly have been nicer. We know where we're going to be staying in Key West from now on.

Our first trip to Key West and we fell in love with The Keys and The Tropical Inn. Perfect location on Duval, but yet quiet, private and relaxing with their beautiful pool and tropical settings. Rooms were beautifully appointed, very clean and private. I have never stayed at a B&B or Inn, but this was just perfect. The staff was amazing, and the breakfasts every morning were delicious. We can't wait to plan another trip and our first call will be The Tropical Inn
