Wonderful stay at Bed and Breakfast!

Totally relaxing stay at this charming inn. Friendly professional staff ready to help when needed. Delicious breakfasts served at your convenience throughout the morning in the tropical gardens. Loved our four day stay. Will definitely return !

Beautiful Inn in the Keys

5 on May 27, 2015

We stayed here for our anniversary and it was perfect! The room, the courtyard, the service and the location were wonderful. We stayed in the Lime room. It is one of t he smaller rooms but we loved it. It's located in the courtyard so we had extra privacy and a great little porch to sit out with our coffee. The room was so clean and the daily maid service was great. They cleaned everyday and replaced all the towels daily. The breakfast every morning was wonderful. It was so nice to start the day in the beautiful courtyard. The employees that work here are wonderful and very helpful. They know the island well and can help book any excursions you may want to go on. I highly recommend this great little place and any future trips to the keys will be spent staying here.

Best of Key West

4.6 on April 19, 2015

We were disappointed with the city of Key West (a tourist madhouse but some good restaurants) The Sun Room is up in the palms, like a (tree house) with plenty of sun and a great little porch to relax in. The garden where breakfast is served is delightful with charming accents and foliage galore. The pool is small but deep enough to actually swim in. Inn is across from a church, enjoy the bells! The concierge service is excellent and booked all our dinners and activities; this was special, we stay in a lot of B&B's and innkeepers will help you out but not this level of attention and local knowledge. Worth a visit to Key West to stay here and discover ways to avoid the bad and enjoy the best.

we spent 2 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The very best part were the beautiful and private grounds where we spent several hours just relaxing.

Key West Gem

4.8 on February 18, 2015

What a great four days in Key West! Conveniently located in Old Key West, The Mermaid and Alligator B&B is beautifully furnished and exquisitely landscaped. The hosts and concierges are gracious and helpful and will arrange dinner reservations, taxis, boat outings, etc. Breakfast was always a treat and you have a chance to catch up with the other guests over a glass of wine at 5 o'clock each day. The Mermaid and Alligator is the best B&B we've ever had the pleasure to enjoy.

The Mermaid and The Alligator

5 on December 17, 2014

It's not very often that one happens upon a hidden gem, but we certainly did with the Mermaid and the Alligator. The rooms are exquisitely appointed with every ammenity to provide a relaxing, pampered atmosphere. The common rooms shared by all the guests provide a relaxing atmosphere where you have an opportunity to unwind after a day of touring and to view the artwork and artifacts collected from around the world by the owners. The gardens, where breakfast is served poolside every morning, are breathtaking. The entire property is truly a hidden oasis among the delightful craziness of Key West. We cannot imagine staying anywhere else that would make you feel so welcome and pampered. We are anxiously awaiting out next visit.

Amazing, yet again!

5 on November 17, 2014

My mother and I visited Key West for the second year in a row this November for our annual mother/daughter getaway and have stayed at the Mermaid and Alligator both times. The second stay (5 nights) was even more wonderful than the first, if that is possible. The rooms are comfortable and the décor well thought out - lots of interesting items to check out during your stay. The gardens and seating areas are filled with beautiful palms and other plants. For an entire week, I awoke to church bells and singing birds as opposed to a clanking alarm clock. Housekeeping staff are meticulous; they don't forget any details when making up your room. Dean, Geri and Rebecca are amazing hosts, and really did all they could to make us feel right at home. They served wonderful breakfasts to us each morning, helped with dining recommendations and transportation, provided a relaxing wine social every evening, and were there to chat and talk about everyone's favorite topic - the resident pup, Caya. We are already thinking about when we will be able to return to Key West, and of course, to this lovely inn!

A quiet oasis after busy Duval Street

5 on November 06, 2014

Stayed here for 4 nights in October. Fabulous! We highly recommend this inn. Breakfast each day was wonderful as was the wine in the evening. Everyone made us feel welcome and special. They arranged a sunset cruise and kayak tour for us. Both were outstanding. We will definitely be back in the future.

Honeymoon perfection!!!!!

5 on August 04, 2014

Loved our stay!!!! Couldn't have had a better honeymoon! So happy with every single part of this beautiful bed and breakfast. Amazing hosts, adorable dogs, delicious breakfast, lush tropical gardens. Pure relaxation environment. It was perfect!!! Had everything you need for the beach and makes all reservations for you. Goodies and snacks all throughout the day and wine served at 5pm everyday. They have fresh Costa Rican coffee served everyday which fills the house with the most amazing smells all day. Did I forget to mention that if you don't like your pillow you can choose from 3 other types? It was perfect. We stayed in the sun room and had our own sunning deck which was even better for star gazing. Total privacy when you want it or a community of interesting people to relax in the pool with and have a glass of wine. We made amazing friends on our stay who we will keep in touch with and I just adored Dean and Paul. Such interesting people and conversations. We had an amazing honeymoon and we will absolutely recommend this bed and breakfast to everyone going down. Be back soon, Ashley and Ken Coffin ( Cassells)
