Authors Guesthouse is a private compound of historic Conch style houses, suites and rooms, dedicated to authors who called Key West home. All rooms are air conditioned with private baths, cable television,telephones and refrigerators. Authors is located in the historic Old Town district of Key West, close to all activities. Cancellations made within 14 days of your arrival date (30 days for Holidays and Special Events) forfeit the entire deposit. There is no refund for shortened stays or early departures. Room numbers for specific rooms can not be guaranteed. "No Shows" will have the remainder of the reservation canceled after the first night.

    Harry Truman Room: This room can be combined with The Margaret Truman Room to form a suite. One Queen Bed, Private Sun Deck, Refrigerator, Microwave, Private Bath. Harry Truman, our 33rd president, cherished the tranquility of Key West. Ernest Hemingway Cottage: Living Room, One Queen Bed, Day Bed (two twins), Full Kitchen, Semi-Private Terrace Area, Private Bath. You can imagine "Papa" pounding out The Snows of Kilimanjaro or For Whom the Bell Tolls on the old typewriter that sits on the desk. Hemingway won the 1954 Nobel Prize for Literature. This cottage has a living room with a day bed, a bedroom with a queen bed, and full kitchen and bath.
    Margaret Truman Room: This room can be combined with The Harry Truman Room to form a suite. One Queen Bed, Off Upper Sun Deck, Refrigerator, Microwave, Private Bath. Margaret Truman, President Truman's daughter, enjoyed Key West as her father did and became a well-known mystery novelist.
