Filled with a million memories and countless stories, the Artist House is an enchanting and historic guest house in the heart of Old Town Key West, just steps away from shops, restaurants, bars, water sports and boating. Recently refurbished rooms feature private baths, mini-fridges and LCD televisions. After just one peak, you'll understand why Robert the Doll loved to call this place home!

Lovely home very close to Duval. Staff were exceptional. We stayed in the Sun Room which is their smalllest room. It can only be entered through a stairway in the back courtyard which is very steep. Be prepared when bringing luggage up. The room has a refrigerator which was very nice. The shower was tiny and a bit uncomfortable. There was a refrigerator in the room. The breakfast was outstanding for a B & B and exceeded our expectations. They also provide free beer and wine during happy hour. We paid $10 less per night for a room much much smaller than the other queen size beds rooms with difficult access. Someone looking for privacy in a B & B may opt to chose this room, However, everyone dines for breakfast and happy hour in the courtyard which is where the entrance is. We intend to return on a non holiday weekend when rates are less and in any other room in the house.

In almost 40 years of global travel, this has been one of the most enjoyable stays yet. The warm welcome is unparalleled. Happy Hour and breakfast are just superb in every detail. Easy access to Key West attractions is the best in town. We didn't need our car at all. Many thanks to a helpful and accommodating staff. Art and Donna Steinberg, Reston, Virginia.

I stayed in the Morning room. Very cute with a small balcony. The hotel was in the middle of all the action. could walk to everything The staff was great - ready to help with whatever we needed. The price was average, but worth it to be withing walking distance to everything. I thought the history of this place was very interesting. The breakfast was very good, and the 4 pm wine and appetizers was a nicely added feature. I would recommend this hotel.

We stayed in Ann's suite for our 6 night vacation. It was clean, beautifully decorated, very roomy & quiet. There was a refrigerator & coffee maker, king size bed, TV & comfortable couch. We had a large private bathroom with a new shower/tub combo, wish I had time for a bubble bath! Everything was well taken care of. The house is beautiful! I cannot say enough about the staff!!! Jo, also the owner, who greeted us at check in was so helpful with her recommendations which were fabulous! Then we met Laura, we could have spent a whole day chatting with her! She's so knowledgeable and helpful, I miss talking to her! And Cindy was also very nice & helpful. You're in good hands with any of them! Breakfast had a large selection every morning, pastries, breads, bagels, English muffins, cheeses, meats, eggs, fresh fruits, yogurt, cereal, coffee, tea, juices....I'm sure forgetting something! This is also a wonderful location, it's very central, easy to walk to everything! Close enough to all the action on Duval street, but without all the noise! We would definitely come back in the future!

We stayed at the Artist House for 3 nights during our trip to Key West for our Anniversary and had a wonderful time! We stayed in the "Sunroom" but I referred to it as "the tree house" because to get to the room, you had to go up a steep staircase outside the house which takes you up into the trees. The room was comfortable and very cute and I felt it had more privacy than possibly the other rooms in the house would have. The bathroom & standup shower were very tiny, but if you don't mind a smaller bathroom, then it won't make much difference to you. They offered a continental breakfast in the morning which included pastries, cereal, fruit and yogurt. Then they had wine and snacks during happy hour each afternoon. The Artist House staff was very nice and accommodating. We had a great experience and would definite stay with them again!

We got married in Key West on April 10 and booked the Turret Suite for the week. It was PERFECT. The Bridesmaids were able to sleep over, and the Suite has 2 full baths, which were very convenient. We were able to have the hair and make-up team come to the Suite with enough room to get 9 girls ready. The staff made sure we had everything we needed and even offered the boys drinks while we they were waiting for the girls on the porch. The house also made a beautiful backdrop for wedding pictures. We couldn't have asked for a better experience or day. We will definitely stay at the Artist House on future visits to Key West and highly recommend others to do the same. It's only a few steps from Duval and has great history. There's no better place to experience Authentic Key West.

A remarkable place to stay. Our family of 5 truly enjoyed our 3 nights in the Turret room. Super-friendly staff, nice breakfast and the afternoon happy hour is a treat. Just be aware that the ghost tours of Key West also like to stop by the house - sometimes late at night...

We stayed for four nights at the end of March 2015. Laura greeted us and within minutes we were learning new things about the isle, despite this being our 16th visit. Super friendly but not intrusive, just what you want for a B&B stay. And although cliche', the Artist House truly exemplifies the phrase: Location, location, location. You are literally steps away from the water and the most intoxicating street in the USA: Duval. I felt so comfortable with our next Inn Keeper, Cindy, I tried, but failed, on an April Fool's joke. Oh well, there's always next year. But if you don't have to wait, book it now. Enjoy.
