An Island Oasis

A wonderfull old colonial style house that has been converted into a very comfortable B&B. The only thing it lacks is full air conditioning. Situated in a very quite area but within two minutes of a beach and the end of Duval street.

We enjoyed our stay at Island Oasis, Heron room. Quiet and quite comfortable and a good place to relax after being out in the hectic pace of Key West. The porch is a great place to watch the circus go by.

An Island Oasis was walking distance to restaurants, beaches, and shopping on Duval Street. Since it is off the main street it is mostly quiet. Some parking was available, which was nice because parking is hard to come by in Key West. The rooms were clean and provided all basic amenities. The downside was the breakfast. We're used to bed and breakfasts with a full meal and this was sorely lacking. Continental breakfast included bagels, little boxes of cereal and some fruit. We had breakfast out every day instead, but as for accommodations, this place was excellent and we'd go back to stay (just not to eat!).

My husband & I stayed at Island Oasis the day after Christmas. It was nice & well kept. The breakfast was decent, fruit & bagels were served. The hot tub was nice, since it was chilly that weekend. The only complaint I have is they were changing management & no one seemed to know what was going on. They need to inform their employees of changes before they make them.

This was my first time staying at a b+b. I'm glad i did. Got a very warm welcome when i arrived at An island oasis especially from the 2 kitty cats who were newcomers on the premices.( love for animals) that's a plus for me. The room and grounds were better than i expected them to be. I stayed in the private cottage which was very very cosy. Clean and everything looked new. The only bad thing i can say about the room is that the aircon was abit noisy. Breakfast was hearty with a variety of fruit, bagels with creamcheese, oatmeal, juices, coffee tea etc. In general, keywest was a nice place to visit and staying at the oasis made it even nicer.

This room was nice and clean and private. Only 1 block from the U.S. southernmost point and 1 block for Duval street, but nice and quiet area.

Everything was nicely arranged and although we stayed only for one night, it was good. The rooms are clean with a nice bathroom.

My father and I had an absolute blast at this B & B. The location, quality of room, ambiance of the facility and the managers, Amy and Melonie were perfect. I don't have one issue or problem to discuss. I highly recommend to anyone to stay at this beautiful place.

What a wonderful experience! We came down for the Key West Songwriters Festival and innkeeper Amy could not have been a more hospitable. We plan to come down again next year and book the entire property!!! You can't go wrong with An Island Oasis! Don Poole

The Island Oasis isn't so much a B&B as it is a ramshackle "room for rent" type setup. No one to greet us on arrival. No one there for a pre-packaged breakfast. Not one iota of charm. No common room to meet the other guests or the "owners" (if they exist). Paid a lot less for a lot more all across the country. Avoid.

Great location in Old Town, but close to all the fun! The staff (Melanie and Amy) were very friendly and gave good advice about places to eat and things to do. All in all, we had a wonderful time and would love to come back again!

Nice place just a block off of Duval on a quiet street. Easy walk to all the attractions. Amy and the staff where very nice and knowledgeable about the area. Make sure that you check with them when booking trips or purchasing tickets as they know how to get discounts and can make reservations for you. Breakfast was simple but good. Sitting under their giant mahogany tree was fantastic, the garden is well kept and the pool small but clean. The rooms were always kept VERY clean and they are kept by the local staff not a cleaning crew so the personal touch is there. We would recommend this B&B. The only downside was that the A/C in our room while VERY effective was quite loud.

My wife and I enjoyed two nights in Key West recently and thoroughly enjoyed the stay at An Island Oasis. Breakfast time was like sharing a meal with family even though we only just met. Amy was an excellent hostess, anticipated needs before we felt them, and shared a wealth of details of Key West to make our stay even more refreshing. Staying at this B&B made our visit perfectly rewarding. We would come back again during any season! A great stay.

The place is in a very convenient location- just 2 blocks from Duval St., the beach with jet ski and the "90 Miles to Cuba" marker. The room was spacious and clean, with a comfortable Kings bed and an extra couch. We had enjoyable outdoor breakfast. However breakfast time could be longer than only 1 hr. We can definitely recommend the place.

The place is like home. A beautiful bed and breakfast, outdoor seating, just 2 blocks from Duval, and right near the trolly stop. Staff was excellently friendly and helpful. I'll be back again and again!

I could have booked a room in an ordinary motel but instead got a taste of old Florida which was very refreshing. I enjoyed my stay very much.

We had a great room off to the side with a porch area and direct access to pool. The room was big with a big bed and nice dark hardwood floors and ceilings. It was comfortable and quaint and I would stay there again. No complains. The bed was a little uncomfortable but not a big deal. The staff was very helpful and welcoming.

We found "An Island Oasis" to be a very good value. Located towards the quite end of Duval and close to South Beach worked out very well for us. I would stay there again but I would opt for the larger room. Even though we didn't spend much time there a little more room would have been nice, but I believe we had the smallest room available. For the price you couldn't beat it though. The breakfasts were good and the staff was great!

Room was brilliant and Kenny could not have been more helpful - 'Osprey room is fab'

After hours of dealing with planes and cabs and all that is horrible about travelling, it was a welcome change to be greeted with such hospitality, a clean room, and a clean, relaxing shower. I wanted to go snorkling and parasailing while I stayed here and they even booked those trips for me at my convenience. I was truly at peace. Thank you so much An Island Oasis for your wonderful bed and breakfast.

Great location on the quiet side of Key West.

Very convenient location,excellent breakfast,fresh friut etc.Our room was small but comfy.There was maintenance ongoing but the workers were very polite and respectful.

Very pleased with our visit, we'll be back. Kenny, the manager was very helpful and knew key places to see and visit. Continental breakfast was also excellant.

Stayed 7/17 to 7/21. Michael (owner) gave us a briefing on the island and where to find good food, bike rentals and even where to avoid as we checked in. There's a bike rental close by and we kept them in the enclosed yard at night. Breakfast is only from 9-10 am but was very well done- it's served outside so the limited time frame makes sense. The yard is beautiful and it felt like coming home each time we came back to our room. We stayed in the Egret suit and had a bed, a sofa-bed combo, a small kitchenette and plenty of room to spread out our dive gear. The best recommendation I can give about this place is that I enjoyed our stay, I will come back and I will recommend it to friends!

The best thing about this B&B was the location. right near the water, and duval street. all options within walking distance. Very very friendly people. lived up to the laid back keywest lifestyle. Though near everything it still had the slow feel we were looking for. Great place overall

The hospitality of the Island Oasis exceeded our expectations. We spent 2 of the most relaxing and quiet nights of our lives there last May. The room and garden were beautiful, the breakfast delicious and the location perfect. Our morning "greeters" in the garden (esp. Miss Lisa, their pup dog) made us feel like we were at home when we were missing our own pup terribly. We can not wait to return!

The Island Oasis was really a find - I feel as if I got lucky when looking at the internet sites, as I cannot imagine enjoying any hotel or B&B more than Island Oasis. Hosts were very helpful in giving information and were warm and welcoming from the moment of arrival. Thanks for making the very first Key West experience truly fun!

Gussie and Amelia (red) were womderful ! Amelia did a fantasitic job on the rooms very clean. She helped up book reservations and trips and was very helpful ! She even took time away from cleaning to help us ! Gussie was so charming ! We will be staying next year and will recomend it to our friends ! Thank you so much !

Gussie, Tom and Red (staff) were great. Eager to help with recommendations and reservations for all the watersports. We went on a sunset cruise that was wonderful. We will definitely return and will tell all of our friends and family about this tropical paradise. Thank you for making our first vacation to Key West so nice!

The Inn was wonderful. What we liked most about the inn was the staff and the room itself. Breakfast was truly enjoyable each morning. We found this hideaway on the internet.

We loved staying in this bed & breakfast. It was down by the Southernmost point, half a block away from the beach, it was quiet and peaceful there. It really did feel like an Oasis, especially as we ducked under palm fronds to get to our room. We got one of their cottage rooms, right next to the hammock and dipping pool, (which was a luxury on those hot days). Clean, cool and comfortable room. Complete with a king size bed, hardwood floor (and ceiling), a mini-fridge and microwave (thank you!), cable with lots of channels, wicker dresser, chair and tables. The bathroom was excellent, clean and well equipped: the shower had a caddy, a shampoo/gel dispenser right in the shower, and a towel just for makeup. Plus the complimentary breakfast was exciting... bagels, fruit, cereal, juice, muffins... a real money-saver. The place was cosy and romantic.

Suzy & Mike were great hosts and thier recomendations were spot on. We especially enjoyed the "Danger" cruise. Room was clean and breakfast was great. Everything is within walking distance and we highly recommend it. Lisa, Bodacious and the cat were fun as well!!

Having traveled all over the country and visited several great B&B's before, I was quite surprised to find such a great hideway in Key West! Suzie and Mike went out of their way to take great care of us! The room was nice and the new jacuzzi was even better after a night on Duval street!Great job.
