Shawdowlawn: This beautiful corner room features large wrap around windows that overlook Riverside Avenue and the treetops of Lancaster Street. Pale yellow walls accent the original heart of pine flooring, antique oriental rug, crown molding, custom draperies, turn of the century armoire and king sized four poster Bernhardt iron bed.
Park Suite: Our most spacious and elegant room, the Park Suite is perfect for a romantic getaway or a relaxing escape from a hectic workday. The room features original heart of pine floors complimented by a one of a kind Persian rug, spectacular crown molding, hand made window treatments, antique secretary desk, marble topped wardrobe and king sized four poster iron bed.
Margaret's Window: Once a porch used by the Kelly family to bask in the afternoon sun, Margaret's Window is a charming spot to make your temporary home. Seven windows surround you, allowing you to gaze upon the open sky. The pale yellow walls and original heart of pine floors join together with streaming natural light, making this quaint room undeniably cheerful.
Roosevelt: Take a step onto the original heart of pine floors in the Shades of sage green complement the Spanish moss hanging just outside your window enveloping you as you lay upon the elegant king sized bed with antique velvet tufted headboard. Sit upon the hand woven Oriental rug and enjoy the gentle glow of an original fireplace. The room features period furnishings, including an exquisite tiger maple gentleman’s chest and secretary desk. Soak the day away in the large oak rimmed claw foot tub,
St. John's Place: Deep red tones and toile accents, along with original heart of pine floors, await you in this elegant corner room. Two large windows frame the unique bed, it’s headboard crafted from a one hundred year old door. Two additional windows allow you to lose yourself among the swaying palms and live oaks of Riverside Avenue while relaxing on an original built-in upholstered window seat. Custom draperies, Persian rug and delightful rocking chair complete the refined décor.
Wind the staircase to the third floor, pass under an exquisite 19th century crystal chandelier, and arrive at Bishopgate’s door. This airy corner room is a favorite of our guests. Awash with natural light, a palette of soft colors and an almost surreal quiet, the Bishopgate is as peaceful as it is charming.
Feel like you are on top of the world or, at the very least, within the walls of a whimsical tree house in this thir floor charmer. Aptly titled, The Oak Room looks out upon an ancient live oak covered in delicate Spanish moss, gently illuminated when evening falls. A gabled ceiling, original heart of pine floors and a color palette of sage green and soft yellow contribute to the room's earthy appeal. Open the large dormer window and the enjoy breezes from the nearby St. John’s River.
Encompassing half of the top floor, the Windsor Suite offers a level of privacy suited for both romance and solitude alike. Architectual details such as original heart of pine floors, gabled ceiling and dormer windows pay tribute to Jacksonville's rich history. The spacious bathroom features a large tiled walk-in shower, a pedestal sink and a two person jacuzzi tub.
The Petite Lancaster is an intimate space meant for sharing. The Riverdale’s Carriage House was once home to the Kelly family’s cherished steeds along with the elaborate coaches they would pilot. Today, this restored Queen Anne style bungalow welcomes travelers from all over the world. The quaint room features two antique twin beds, an large bathroom, ample closet space and a private entryway.
The larger of the two rooms located in the inn’s carriage house, a picturesque building teeming with historical significance, the Lancaster is private retreat all your own. Ideal for extended stays, the Lancaster comes complete with a small refrigerator and microwave.

The Riverdale Inn is beautiful and only a short walk to great views of the St. Johns River. We stayed 4 days/3nights and it wasn't long enough to see and do everything we wanted to. Linda and Carolyn were perfect hostesses, and we didn't want for a thing. Breakfast and High tea were both excellent. Unfortunately the Row Restaurant was closed, I would look forward to eating there. It was the best birthday ever. The beds are very comfy. The Inn is convenient to many good shops and restaurants. I would definitely stay again and would recommend it to everyone.
Fantastic alternative to mediocre downtown hotels.

I live in the riverside area of Jacksonville so I have my family and friends stay here when they come to visit me. Everyone I have sent here had loved it! The house is gorgeous and the staff is so friendly and accommodating! The rooms are all so cute and there is a room or conjoined rooms to fit every situation. It is in a perfect location; only a couple houses from the river and a few blocks from the best shopping and restaurants. Highly recommended by myself and my family.
