A two-story, bungalow built in 1923 located in the Historic Riverside/Avondale district and in walking distance to antique shops and restaurants and the St.John's River.
We are a mile from the Cummer Museum of Art and Gardens, the Five Points shopping area and the shops of Avondale. Downtown Jacksonville and the Landing, where the Sports Complex and the Times-Union Center for the Performing Arts are located, is just 3 miles from our B&B. We are conveniently located to both I -10 and I -95 and Atlantic, Neptune and Ponte Verdra beach are about 15-20 miles from us.

    • Cancellations:
      Cancellations received less than 3 days prior to stay require forefeiture of one night's lodging per room reserved. Unfortunately, there are no refunds for extended stays, however, arrangement can be made to apply deposit to another date if needed.

    Sit by the fireplace and enjoy the art work and books on the shelf. Relax and have a glass of wine before heading out to dinner at one of our great neighborhood restaurants. The living room is a common area we welcome our guests to enjoy.Hand crafted mosaic that features stone,glass tiles, mirrror and hand-made clay tiles designed by Patti.
    Fix yourself some breakfast in our bright,warm dinning room at your convenience.  Come down in your robe - if you like. We are casual here at the Downing Street B&B and want you to feel like you are at home. No need to be formal and you don't have to dress up! A contental breakfast with hot coffee, danish,waffle, muffins,toast, fruit, hot or cold cereal and some hard boiled eggs are amongst some of the choices for breakfast. The Innkeeper may even surprise you with some homemade banana nut bread.Enjoy your stay in the bright and airy Green Leaf room which features a Queen sized bed and art work created by the Innkeeper and local artists. The Green Leaf room also has two comfy, overstuffed chairs in which you can relax, read or watch TV. A desk with Internet access and a private bath with a shower stall are additional features of the room.
    Snuggle under the down comforter in the handsome Willow Branch room which features a double bed and is appointed with antique armoire, desk with internet access, a sitting area where you can relax, read or watch TV. There is a private bath of tub/shower combination and cozy terry robes  Both guest rooms are located on the second floor and afford our guests with privacy ,but access to the on-site Innkeepers who are eager to assist you in enjoying your stayArt Nuevo, hand-crafted tiles set in mosaic on a bench.
