    FERN COTTAGE is a beautiful traditional Bed and Breakfast in east Fort Lauderdale. It is just 5 minutes to the beach, downtown, Las Olas shopping and approx. 15 minutes from the Fort Lauderdale airport. Choice of two suites available for Winter season visitors. EAST SUITE - 3 Night minimum. Three room suite comprising of Bedroom with antique double iron bedstead, lots of closet and drawer space, imported Jaipur quilt. Dressing room with tortoishell glass vessel sink, wood and marble vanity, mandala artwork and oversized brightly painted hammered mirror. Bathroom with jacuzzi tub and rainfall showerhead. NORTH SUITE - 4 night minimum. New this Season. Large, sunny bedroom with tiled floors and Oriental carpet. Full wall windows with wooden blinds on three sides. Separate door to gardens and pool. Queen platform bed with imported linens. Seating area with club chairs and coffee table.Antique drum table and chairs. Bookcase, TV console and illusion fire.     • Minimum stay: 3 nights minimum

    • Deposit amount required: 50% of the cost of your stay is required to secure a reservation. A reservation is NOT confirmed until the deposit is received.

    • Cancellations: Deposits may be paid by cash or travelers check. Balance is due upon arrival by any of these means. Because of the limited availability of rooms, last minute cancellations affect us significantly. In the event that you must cancel, change dates, shorten your stay or make any change to your confirmed reservation, your deposit could be refunded less a 10% booking charge, if 30 days notice is provided. If cancellation is made within two weeks of your arrival the deposit (less the bookkeeping charge) will be refunded only if the room is re-rented for the entire length of your intended stay.

    We spent 10 wonderful days over the Christmas and New Year vacation in this B&B. I drove in from Miami and met friends and family who had arrived there before me. I was transported from hot and muggy Florida to a gentle and sweat British cottage under the tropics. The owner is the most extraordinary and graceful person and she took care of each one of us with so much kindness. The place is pristine, well located with all modern appliances. I would have stayed an extra month if I could. The place is a little jewel, the garden is magnificent, it is a gorgeous getaway. Many many many thanks for making this vacation so special.

    My husband and I stayed at the Fern Cottage for 3 nights and we couldn't have picked a better place. We stayed in the north suite which was roomy, very private, comfortable and decorated beautifully. Freya was the most wonderful hostess and took care of us with whatever we needed. She has a beautiful back yard where we swam in her pool and bbq'd dinner on her gorgeous patio. The whole place is spotless and clean. In case you forget any toiletries or supplies, Freya will most likely have some for you. The location of this bed and breakfast is very convenient to all the spots we wanted to visit. We will definitely be back to visit Fort Lauderdale and most of all we would love to see Freya again! Dan&Jenny

    We stayed for 7 nights and booked the North suite. Everything about our stay was first class. The cottage is beautifully furnished throughout and our room was a delight- bright and airy, great attention to detail and next to the swimming pool. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and Freya is the perfect host - warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble (she even did our laundry for us!!). If you are thinking about staying here then don't hesitate - book it and enjoy a quite glass of wine or a gin and tonic in the wonderful garden before you sample some of the great local eateries. Our only disappointment was that we could only stay a week - we could happily move in and we will definitely return!

    Our recent stay at Fern Cottage was our first B & B experience and it more than exceeded our hopes and expectations. The accommodations were comfortable, well appointed and inviting. The cleanliness of the bedroom and bath was very much appreciated (we frequently question the cleanliness of hotel rooms.) We enjoyed the surrounding decks and gardens which were lush, beautiful, and organized into a variety of relaxing areas. It was nice to have a quiet, private pool as well. Many hotels charge for daily parking, but we were able to park our car in the driveway of Fern Cottage. Best of all was getting to know Freya, the owner. She hosted our stay, and provided us with friendly service, lively conversation…. and total privacy, whichever was appropriate for the time. It is obvious that Freya puts a lot of loving care into her B & B. Fern Cottage is where we will stay from now on when we are in Fort Lauderdale. Phil & Susan

    We cannot say enough good things about Fern Cottage and Freya! Her home is even more beautiful than the pictures. From the moment we arrived Freya made us feel as comfortable as though with family. The bedroom is dreamy with comfortable bed and bedding. The bathroom is beautifully decorated with spa-like quality. We enjoyed the pool area with adjacent lush gardens - colorful by day and romantically lit at night. Breakfasts were top-quality favorites served on elegant china. We were overwhelmed by Freya's helpfulness and attention to ensuring that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. We look forward to our next visit. Freya, thanks for all your efforts and personal extras that made our stay so delightful!
