Hotel DeFuniak, built in 1920, is the center of one of the most intriguing and historic towns in the southeast, Defuniak Springs, Florida. In 1997 the hotel was painstakingly restored as one of Florida's most elegant and romantic historic hotels. Nineteenth century European and American antiques abound throughout the entire hotel to recreate the rich ambiance of a time lost. Every room has its own unique theme from the Safari to the Dutch Romantic to the French Country. No matter which room you choose, you will experience the warmth and luxury of another time and place.
We are also privliged to have massage therapist Rose Simons on-staff who is very experienced in sweedish massage, sports massage, therapudic massage, ear candling and a variety of other healthy treatments.

      A 12-ounce choice NY strip hand cut and prepared by our owner, who is also the executive Chef. The steak is nicely seasoned and char-grilled to your specifications and topped with sliced grilled tomatoes, sliced hearts of palm and finished with a peppercorn-brandy demi glaze and sauce bearnaise.

    The Hotel Defuniak is a designated historic structure built in 1920. A total, top to bottom restoration in 1998 was done with the upmost care to retain the old time feel yet bring modern amenities to the building.This photo shows our lobby and front desk and emphasizes the ornate trimwork throughout this historic hotel.
    This is our main dining room which can accomodate over 100 guests. Our gourmet-yet-casual menu can be found on our website. We have a full bar and an ample wine list sure to please any pallate.This is a photo of one of our rooms, the Romantic Suite and is one of our most popular rooms. Our website has many many more photos and virtual tours of all the rooms.
    This is the "living room" of the Safari suite. The room has been decorated in a safari theme and features artifacts from Africa and other exotic locations. This is our most requested room.This is the "Dobbs Hat Room" featuring a 4-poster bed and other uniquie items which will take you back to another time and place.
