Glen Gordon Manor

– Huntly, VA

Bed&Breakfast.com Diamond Collection

Over the years, Glen Gordon Manor has hosted members of the British royal family and set the scene for many memorable hunts and balls. Overlooking Shenandoah National Park from 45 acres of pasture, lawns, gardens and parkland. The captivating retreat glories in views of the Blue Ridge Mountains and neighboring farms and vineyards. Tracing its roots to 1833 as a Wells Fargo stagecoach stop, the main house brims with nostalgic settings: a fire-lit entrance hall, a baronial oak hunt room with minstrel gallery, a stone wine cellar, and a charming country kitchen. Guest rooms echo the warm radiance. Luxuriously appointed Glencroft Cottage suites and spacious Gordon Mews House lend further hospitality, along with a sparkling pool and stables. As a guest of Glen Gordon Manor you will have the option of dining in the dining room of the manor house for a full four-course breakfast, or if you prefer we will send breakfast to your room. We have an extensive garden that will provide the seasonal ingredients in your breakfast, as well as fruit trees that still remain from a past orchard. We raise our own organic free range chickens for the eggs that go into the many breakfast creations. What we don’t grow ourselves we procure from local farmers as much as possible.

Smithfield Farm Bed and Breakfast

– Berryville, VA

In the foothills of the Blue Ridge, apple blossoms begin their annual bud. Wildflowers along the roadsides, a burst of color, while bluebirds perch on old fence posts, weathered with age. The morning mist fades away, and a brilliant sun spreads warmth and light across the rolling hillside. This is Smithfield Farm: a memory of the way life used to be, a place where memories are still made today. Set in the gentle hills of the Shenandoah Valley, Smithfield commands a majestic view of fields and orchards, mountains and forests. From the main entrance, the house greets its guests with traditional Federal period architecture, a classic 19th century manor house constructed in brick and stone. Inside, an elegant, sweeping staircase adds beauty to the grand hallway, while to either side spacious rooms are flooded with sunlight, reflected from the warm hardwood floors.

"Wonderful visit"

"My husband and I recently stayed at the inn and were delighted with our experience. This was our first time at a 'bed and breakfast' type of lodging and we weren't sure quite what to expect. Anna was a lovely hostess and very knowledgeable about the area. Nancy, the housekeeper, was a sweetheart. Our room, although not the one I originally chose, was like "sleeping in grandma's bedroom,'( the room with the bed in front of the three windows) turned out to be a great choice for us. We both agreed that we had three of the best nights of sleep we had had in a long time. If I were to change anything, it would probably just be to offer home baked goodies instead of tinned cookies, but that is a very minor point. We plan on visiting the Inn again when we're in the area and would certainly recommend it to others."
