We have stayed here several times and love it every time! It is not the same as staying in a hotel. It has personality. The rooms are good sized with a refrigerator and you can use the kitchen there anytime. The pancake breakfast not only tastes good but they make it fun and it is a great way to get to know the other people staying here. Just around the corner from the heart of downtown St. Augustine. Love it!!
Thank you for your review, we strive for happy customers!

We came up last weekend for a wedding, and had our 2 young children with us (ages 5 and 11 months). This is exactly as advertised a family & budget friendly Inn. The location is perfect right off St George St, King St a stone's throw away, awesome! Yes Harry's gets loud and I could hear people talking under my window in the middle of the night, but it didn't wake my kids so I was good. My 5 year old was in love with the toys in the common room, and when I asked him what his favorite part of the trip was ( I was thinking he would say the Fort) He said "the bunk beds!" What impressed me most though was the hospitality. When we arrived the gentleman who checked us in went down and help my husband park and helped with our bags. After we checked out my husband asked Conrad where we should park so we could sight see for a few hours before we drove home, and HE GAVE US HIS PARKING SPOT! Totally above and beyond! If you are looking for a plush typical hotel or B&B this may not be for you, but if your looking for something different and kid friendly this is great. P.S. We didn't at breakfast there because I'm gluten intolerant, but they looked and smelled amazing!
Thanks for staying with us and writing a review. I'm working on putting some plexiglass on the inside of the windows to deaden the street noise. Any we do try to have some gluten free pancake mix on hand.

Pros: 1. The staff are awesome...friendly, accommodating, funny, and down-to-earth. 2. Family-friendly: quiet times are enforced, staff are great with kids, and place is safe 3. Location is in the heart of the downtown area. You can walk almost everywhere. 4. Rooms are large 4. Basic essentials are provided Neutrals: 1.This is listed on a B&B website, but it feels and looks more like a hostel. We had a young child (less than 2) with us, so we were not looking for romance. So, no big deal. 2.pancakes, coffee, and fruit on one of the mornings were all great, but this is all the breakfast is comprised of. Very adequate, but nothing fancy. Cons: 1. Location is in the heart of the downtown. (Yes, I already wrote this in the pros section.) Harry's restaurant and bar is located a block away and plays loud music all night. One of the nights we were there, they played until 2am. The windows do not block the sound of the music or the people walking by as they leave the area. The staff tried everything to accommodate us (even called the police), but the reality is that this is the downtown area and the bar is allowed to play loud music until they close. Luckily, Harry's doesn't have music every night. Mainly on the weekends, holidays, and school breaks. So, keep an eye on that and you will be okay. If you are older, perhaps you don't mind staying up late and this is a non-issue.
Thanks for your review. You are right in that our location is both a blessing and a curse at times. Harry's does a Mardi Gras thing once a year and they blow away the neighborhood with noise until 2 AM. They hire off-duty cops at $33 an hour for 5-6 hours, and I guess this entitles them to do what they want. Our complaints to the police fall on deaf ears, but I do plan to take this BS up with the chief. We can't change the front windows to modern dual pane windows because of the "Historic Architecture Review Board". I do plan to look at adding a plexiglass panel to the inside as a way of creating a dead space and deadening street noise. Soon I hope! As you said, nothing fancy. All the other 'fancy' inns are above us in the listings. We strive to provide the best deal for visitors. And as you mentioned you had a young child with you, most other inns don't accept kids under 12, if at all.

We heard about this place from a friend. My husband was a little iffy at first, but after browsing around the website, changed his mind. The entire stay was perfect. It was a relaxed home-like atmosphere and probably the first place we have stayed with our 4 kids where they felt comfortable being kids. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and we felt very welcomed. It was like we were just staying at a long-time friend's house, rather than a hotel, which is exactly what we were looking for. Breakfast was delicious and the kids felt like we were at home eating pancakes in our own kitchen. I would recommend Pirate Haus Inn to everyone I know!
"It was like we were just staying at a long-time friend's house, rather than a hotel" -- Exactly what we are aiming for, I am going to post this on our web page! Thank you for staying with us!

One of the best B&B experiences in the U.S. A real international, cross-section of humanity flavor. And a bargain. We felt like guests, not customers.
Thank you so much for your review!
