Fern Court was built in 1889 in order to welcome prominent families to the San Mateo/Palatka area. While the Flagler, Morgan and Bailey families occupied the house as residents and visitors for the first few decades, the building has served in several capacities over its more than one hundred year existence. For the past few decades, Fern Court has offered visitors to Northern Florida an opportunity for rest and relaxation as a Bed & Breakfast. Come stay with us and enjoy our elegantly decorated rooms, as well as our sweeping wrap-around veranda. You will enjoy the 2-acres of orange, grapefruit, and plum trees all while being close to all that Northern Florida has to offer. This was our first B&B experience and I had a phenomenal time! Rebekah and Joseph were extremely hospitable and made us feel very comfortable. Rebekah even took the time to suggest places for us to sight see and dine. When we arrived, Rebekah mentioned that she had an extra room if we wanted to switch to a larger bed. We loved the atmosphere altogether. The next day we came down for breakfast and had the most delicious french toast ever! Along with having a great morning start, we met another couple there that was very sweet. I couldn't have asked for a better weekend.

Fern Court is an exceptionally beautiful place set in peaceful San Mateo. Our favorite room's were the Queen Palm and Plumeria. It was a wonderful stay! The attention to detail and care in this B&B brings the warmth of a home away from home. I'm already planning to return to Fern Court as the perfect place for our writing retreat!

Magnolia Suite
The soft carpeted Magnolia Suite bedroom is decorated with creams, reds and greens - and boasts a carved wood King Canopy Bed with Italian Toile Magnolia lamps. The Magnolia Suite includes a relaxing sitting area, a 32" flat screen television and a sleeper sofa which sits on original hardwood floors. The sitting area also includes access to a small refrigerator and Keurig coffee maker. The bathroom glorious tiled bathroom hosts double shower-heads beneath an original stained glass window.

The Queen Palm can be reserved alongside the Bougainvillea for a large group or family stay.
