This magnificent home was built by a Flagler heiress in 1914, right in the dunes of St. Augustine Beach. Now a bed and breakfast, it was named one of the Top 10 Small Resort Inns in Florida, it received the AAA 3 Diamond rating, and is still very laid back and pet friendly! Check out our reviews on .tripadvisor Fall asleep to the hum of the Atlantic Ocean. Wake to spectacular sunrises. Enjoy breakfast while watching the waves through a speckle of sea oats, palm trees, and occasional pelican fly-overs. Grab a surfboard and catch some swells, or drive over the Bridge of Lions into historic St. Augustine, only a ten minute drive. Visit our website for a closer look.

My Soulmate and I were married here. We loved everything about this wonderful home, from the warm and friendly owner and staff members to the creative and delicious breakfasts to the beautiful beaches. Thank you so much, HSS family, for a wonderful, unforgettable, and perfect experience! Thank you, Patty and Rae for all you did for us!

My friend and I just returned from a stay at the Sea and Sun and we loved every minute of it! The Innkeeper and Staff were marvelous and always accommodating to us, the room was lovely and very convenient, it was very quiet and restful and we were invited to gatherings in the main 'parlor' every night, although we were unable to attend because we just got in too late! The food was great and we loved the 'pet friendly' atmosphere, with the three adorable dogs who live there! This was a perfect 'getaway' in every way, and we intend to come back, hopefully, at the end of this year. The house is so beautiful and the historic aspects are most interesting, if you are a history buff, and even if you aren't. The beach is very close and not crowded, so you are free to go down anytime, sit, relax, enjoy the surf and sand. I would highly recommend The House of Sea and Sun to anyone, families included, if you want a beautiful, quiet, friendly place to return to each night...We loved it!

We stayed here and enjoyed every minute of it. The house is absolutely stunning and the location couldn't be better. Patty was very warm and prepared a great breakfast every morning. Her dogs are adorable, too. We stayed in Molly's yellow room and found the accommodations satisfactory. Great Place, highly recommend it

We stayed in Suite Louise. It had several views of ocean. However, the bathtub in the living area took up space that would have better served us with a little table and chairs, or a lounge couch instead. There was almost zero shelf or cabinet space in the bathroom. Just a single sink with a shallow medicine cabinet. There is room to put a couple shelves in bathroom, which would house the curling iron, etc... So, i found it cumbersome to get ready in such a small bathroom. The shower was nice and big though. The lamps above the bed (which was very comfortable for sleeping) did not shine upon the book enough for good reading at night, and bulb was missing from one of the lamps. This would be an easy fix and greatly add to the pleasure and ease of falling asleep...reading a boo. Also, there were ants in the bedroom. due probably to the dry doggy food that we put down for our furry baby. Lots of ants! I didn't notice them until the night before we left, so I just stomped them (as many that didn't run down the cracks of floor.) All that said, those are all things that can be fixed and make the Suite Louise a perfect room. The hostess/s were very nice and breakfast was good. Love the fact that the house was pet friendly and that they enjoyed pets of their own. Would we go back there?? Yes, we will probably will, but we will choose a different room. The house was an old Circa house of 1914 and the furniture was relative to that age, making it very historic.

The moment I entered 2 B Street to check in for a weekend of R&R from work I was met with amazing Atlantic breezes while parking my car and letting my dog out into the backyard to play on her leash while I checked in with Patty Steder the owner, and was also greeted by a wonderfully welcoming staff including Rae, Rebecca and Kim! These names will all stick in my head for top notch customer service. All of the Staff were amazing and anyone I might have left out thank you for catering to ALL of my requests for nearby restaurant suggestions, things to do and even advising me of nice local places in the area to avoid high prices and try some excellent local Seafood! I MUST say I NEVER missed a breakfast during my 3 night 4 day stay. The House of Sea and Sun Breakfast is Just as good as their accommodations and views offering omelets, pancakes, homemade breakfast bars, coffee, fruit, waffles, Cheese eggs, bacon and more made fresh and served to your table! I am getting hungry and already looking forward to a return visit. I love nothing more than a good breakfast being catered to me while enjoying it over the sunrise. My room was the Plum Room at the House of Sea and Sun St. Augustine Bed and Breakfast located on the ground floor with privacy from the Sand Dunes but still amazing views of the Atlantic from the Community Patio and easy access to let my dog out. Speaking of dogs. There are NO PET FEES and they have no CLEAN UP fee for the pet as long as you clean up after yourself. This is just unheard of at so many B&B's that hardly allow pets. I can see why The House of Sea and Sun Bed and Breakfast in St Augustine Florida was rated one of the top 10 Bed and Breakfasts in the St. Petersburg Times.

As a B&B Connoisseur of sorts with over 33 Independent Stays ranging from the USA, Puerto Rico, and Ireland this one takes the Cake and is now comparable to my 5 star Castle B&B stay just outside of Dublin! Now I don’t have to fly back to Ireland to get the same type of treatment I received in St. Augustine, FL at the "House of Sea and Sun"! That says a lot coming from me and read why if you plan on visiting the Best St. Augustine Bed and Breakfast that also comes packed with Flagler and Rockefeller history. That’s right I stayed where JD and Henry talked Oil! I am a lover of history and Henry Flagler! This house was his lived in by his Niece who was the heiress to the Flagler fortune. I can now say I have not only stayed in one of my top Bed and Breakfasts yet, but also ate breakfast where Rockefeller and Flagler talked about the Oil Business and visited with family. The “House of Sea and Sun” B&B also boasts -5 Star Breakfasts Every Morning Overlooking the Atlantic with inside and outside dining “Our 1st Morning Breakfast consisted of Omelets, Pancakes, Hash browns, Fresh Fruit, Coffee, Orange Juice, and Sausage made on request. The innkeeper Patty and Staff went well out of her way to drive to the store the next morning or night before, as she seemed to have overheard my son wanting chocolate milk! We were not only impressed but stunned by this type of service/gesture for any B&B we have ever visited. If you have never been to a Bed and Breakfast you must understand on average, and in most St. Augustine B&B instances as well as around the country and Ireland included from my experiences consist of very stale food that we pass up 95% of the time, difficult parking, unfriendly staff, etc... which was definitely NOT the case. “ - Short Walks to the beach - Private Backyard - Balcony, Grill, Patio Dining overlooking the Atlantic - Excellent Parking - Full House usage, including Board Games, Internet, Computer, and TV for a possible Rainy day

My boyfriend and I spent a LOVELY evening at The House of Sea and Sun in August. Patty was incredibly gracious and kind, and we will definitely be back soon. Some highlights: the beautiful beach view from our room upstairs & the gorgeous claw foot tub, the delicious breakfast, Patty's wonderful dogs, and the overall sense of warmth and joy surrounding the B&B. I would recommend The House of Sea & Sun to anyone visiting the St. Augustine area!!!

Our daughter and her husband renewed their vows on their 10th anniversary, the wedding on the beach was beautiful. Patty, Rae and the staff were outstanding, helpful, friendly and met our needs and request. As our whole family took over the house, they were great with all of us and our grandchildren. We definitely recommend them highly.

As a frequent traveler to B&Bs I was pleasantly surprised to find this beach side gem a few years back. I have travelled extensively in the US and abroad and stayed in some of the finest hotels in the world, but never have I had the incredibly personal experience that Patty provides at the House of Sea and Sun. Besides the stunning house and location, the absolute attention to detail in the service is bar none. The scrumptious breakfasts, delightful happy hours and impromptu dinner parties make even the most jaded foodies drool in anticipation. I have not slept in all the rooms yet, but it's on my "bucket list"! I will definitely be back again and again!

Preserving this grand old beach house has been Patty's passion and burden for years. Sharing its ambiance with guests makes it all worth it, especially with a glass of wine. As often as she can, however, she steals away to see her grandchildren.
