Strawberry House Bed and Breakfast

We had such a great time in this quaint area with Guy and Brenda! They are so hospitable and entertaining. The food was amazing and we are planning our next stay with them this summer!!

We stayed with Guy and Brenda on March 6th & 7th 2013 during the Florida Strawberry Festival. It was our first experience staying at a B&B, so we didn’t know just what to expect. Our stay can’t be adequately described in a just a few short words. Our innkeepers, Guy and Brenda Ford have those unique personalities that are rare to find together. From the minute you walk into their home, you’re not only treated just like family, but better! Brenda reminded us of a favorite friend who’s never met a stranger, has a particularly warped sense of humor and who you just can’t be around and not soon catch the enthusiasm and love of life she blossoms with. Guy is just the same. He even went above and beyond by making a special stop on his way home from work to pick up a half gallon of banana pudding I’d been fretting over that was on the menu of a local restaurant. We kept them up past their bedtimes swapping stories and jokes on the front porch over coffee when the sun went down. The best part was they gave as good as they got. Finding a host and hostess who can become great friends in the course of just a couple of days is an added, unadvertised bonus that comes with your stay at Strawberry House. We’re already planning our next visit and sincerely hope that they’ll have time to sit on the porch and swap stories until the sun comes up.

Didn't know what to expect, but Brenda and Guy made it easy, welcoming us like family. The house is charming, the food was delightful and much more than I expected. The location is great, but the best part was visiting with Brenda and Guy, which is, of course, optional, but they are so interesting, witty and warm! We will be back the next time we are in the area.

Brenda is a hostess extraordinare! She and Guy welcomed us, made sure we were comfortable and let us come and go as we liked. It was better than visiting family. We would stay there again if we return to the area.

Strawberry House was a wonderful find in the charming town of Plant City. The food and service were outstanding. Guy and Brenda were great hosts. The best part was the incredible value of $79!

Place was very clean, room was spotless & bedding was fabulous (very comfortable & cozy). other guests were interesting. Really enjoyed our stay.

What a wonderful get away. My sister was visiting from Virginia and we both needed a little break. So nice not to have to worry about day to day responsibilities. Thanks you Brenda and Guy for your wonderful hospitality!

Let me tell you about The Strawberry House Bed and Breakfast, this place made me realize how important I am. Total comfort and kindness from Brenda and Guy. When I first arrived I didn't know what to expect, it was my first visit to a Bed and Breakfast. But thanks to my Life Coach who suggested that I indulge and take some time for myself to think she told me about the Strawberry House. This place is AWESOME and I really want to be selfish and not tell anyone about it and keep it to myself but in my journey of life i've learned that success unshared is failure and my stay there was a complete success. Brenda and Guy greeted me with love and kindness with open arms and told me to relax and enjoy myself. I'm glad I listened to them because thats exactly what I did. The following morning Brenda wripped up a breakfast that I just couldn't believe, unfortunitly you will have to visit to experience her amazing breakfast. Sorry for leaving you in limbo!!!! I travel the country for a living and I stay in some of the finest hotels you can amagine and I will say none of my stays in hotels can compare to my stay at The Strawberry House. My plans are to visit The Strawberry House atleast once every other month just because I deserve it. Thank you my life coach and most importantly Guy and Brenda Ford for giving me such a great and memorable weekend at The Strawberry House. I love you all!!!!

My wife and I visited this delightful B and B in September and we were made to feel very comfortable by both owners. We are planning a return trip to Plant City in November and we're really looking forward to another stay at Strawberry House. Jim H., Fort Myers, Florida

Had an absolutely fabulous stay at Strawberry House Bed and Breakfast! Brenda and Guy were so sweet and Brenda made the most phenomenal breakfast!!! I stayed in the Angel room and the sheets were so soft I wanted to take them home with me. I was able to use wifi downstairs, and there are so many comfy seating areas I was bouncing from room to room. There were some treats at night that were delicious and coffee/tea/water/soda available as needed. I couldn't have asked for better hosts - I'm so glad I made the decision to stay at Strawberry House!!! Thanks Brenda and Guy! Denise Gomez

We wanted a relaxing night away from the kids in a cozy atmosphere..and we sure found it at the Strawberry House! The strawberry theme decor is the best! So much fun! The chocolate goodies were extra yummy and the fresh garden roses in our room were a delight. And then there's breakfast! We awoke to the smell of french toast and sausage and greeted the day with a bright and cheery table filled with down home cookin'. The food was plentiful and I would doubt anyone has ever left the table without a smile on their face. Guy and Brenda are the most gracious hosts and made sure our stay had all the fun extras that make staying in a B&B so much nicer than a chain hotel. We stayed in Annabelle's Angels room and it was neat and clean and the bed was like sleeping on a cloud! It had the best fluffy chaise that I immensely enjoyed curling up on with my latest literary find and hot tea - in a pretty strawberry mug of course! We will absolutely be back to try out the Bear Cave...unless my heart beckons too loudly for that comfy chaise! This B&B is a must for your bucket list.

We stayed at the Strawberry House for the first two night of our honeymoon. Incredible place, most loving and caring owners, awesome breakfast, and wonderful people to meet sharing the house. Booked it again for next year.

Our group of four couples stayed at Strawberry House this weekend. Guy and Brenda are very friendly Gators to be sure -- greats hosts and what a nice big breakfast that everyone enjoyed - and there was plenty. Such a great start for the day. Of course there was strawberry shortcake set out among other late nite treats the evening before. The house is 101 years old, neat as a pin, and full of charming things to marvel at. The big front porch was screened in, allowing us to sit and watch the busy Strawberry Festival goers and car show enthusiasts passing by -- all while we visited and relaxed. To be fully forthcoming in this review, I'd slip a bedboard under the mattress in our Angel Room. We'll stay at Strawberry House again.

We were looking for a B&B in the Plant City area that we visit every few years and found The Strawberry House. We we called for reservations, we found the dates we wanted were during the annual Strawberry Festival, so we were fortunate to be able to book our 4 nights. Everything was great--the room was large, clean and cozy, and the breakfasts were bountiful. Innkeepers Brenda and Guy just kept filling our plates with food and then there were always special "goodies" sitting out. We had to catch a plane on Monday morning and they accommodated us by having our breakfast early. They make everyone feel welcome. We would definitely stay again and would recommend it to anyone wanting to enjoy central Florida as it is minutes from I-4.

I was looking for a B & B in central Florida and had so many to choose from, but I immediately booked the Strawberry House after speaking to Brenda on the phone - she sounded so pleased at the possibility of having us stay that I couldn't resist! Well, let me tell you, perfect location, beautiful decor, comfortable beds, fantastic breakfasts, delicious snacks, and best of all, Brenda and Guy were the most wonderful hosts you could ever want to meet. They made our stay so special including flowers, wine, and a balloon for my husband's birthday and our anniversary, and shared suggestions for retaurants and shopping. We had such an enjoyable stay and hated to leave, but we plan to return.

Brenda told us she would be overjoyed to cook us a specialty breakfast for my wife and I. We booked the last available room. We pulled up to the bright home, just minutes and walking distance from downtown Plant City, Brenda and her Husband, Guy were warm and a friendlier face could not be found. After receiving a guided tour and getting the keys to the front door and our room, we grabbed our bags, and, of course Guy offered to help. Every room was tastefully and wistfully decorated. And, as you may expect at the "Strawberry House" strawberries were everywhere: in the yard, on the porch, and throughout the kitchen, as decor and food. As we walked up the staircase, we fell in love with the decor: antiques, toys, books, Norman Rockwells, and decorations galore. Our room itself was had beautiful stained hardwood floors, dark woods and stuffed bears, everywhere. Of course there was a full cable TV and tt was complete with King Bed and Electric Fireplace. The in room Bathroom and shower were quaint but more importantly,pristinely clean, and outfitted with anything you may have forgotten. As we went to explore the town, Brenda offered her services for anything we may need...which always includes sweets, treats, cakes, and something with Strawberries. After our exploration and dinner in plant city, we returned to find a tasty yummy strawberry cake with light icing.We enjoyed it immensely while we relaxed working on a puzzle. Then we had seconds, and thirds, and some chocolates after that, and some sleepytime tea before heading up to bed. Then Breakfast came. The "especially for my wife" breakfast was perfect. Fruits, grits, muffins, fresh biscuits and gravy, jellies, butter, sausage, juice and coffee. Enough for an army. After loosening our belts, sadly it was time to go. Brenda saw us off and made sure we had everything we needed once again. It was perfect. Can't wait until we can do it again.
