I am so glad we stayed with Martha and Jean Michel. The experience is very unique because of all the special details. The design and lavish artistic elements of the cottage have been created by Jean Michel (a charming french-man) and are fun to notice and admire. We enjoyed swinging in the courtyard while listening to the fountain and birds. The backyard garden is cool and filled with unexpected surprises. Martha made delicious home made bread for us. We also had a special dinner with the best salmon I have ever tasted. We loved Martha and Jean Michel because of their kindness and hospitality.

Martha and Jean-Michel -- As first-timers visiting your wonderful home, business, restaurant last night, I wanted to say "Thank You" on behalf of our happy group of friends. What a refreshing pleasure and contrast it was to come and visit you -- and avoid the crowds of over-booked turn-the-tables-quickly Tallahassee restaurants. It was such a lovely and relaxing evening…….beautiful setting……terrific service and special attention…..gourmet-level customized meal…..fine spirits……..awesome dessert……and, we were just so happily wowed. We know that we'll always remember our 'first time' with you --- but it will be just that…..only the first time. We expect to be back -- regularly……. Thank you for your new friendship and your wonderful treatment of us all for a unique and memorable Valentine's Day…. Cheers -- and know that we will selectively spread the word…. all our best, Ron

I took my wife to the Cottage B&B for a special Birthday dinner. Martha and Jean-Michel, the charming innkeepers, gave us a very delightful and memorable dining experience. We started off with a wonderful salad and homemade rosemary bread. We progressed to a fabulous jerk-maple salmon with an extraordinary side of brandy cream rice and asparagus, tinged with a light tangerine sauce. "Super delicious"! We ended the evening with a luscious mint chocolate cake. The evening couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you for making my wife's Birthday extra special. "Cheers"!

Dear Martha and Jean M. - We just wanted to thank you for a lovely stay. We enjoyed everything, your special home, the delicious food, but mostly your words of wisdom. Thanks again and see you soon. Many blessings. Andrew and Claudia

What an unexpected pleasure to have dinner at The Cottage for a belated Valentine's Dinner. The sauce on the shrimp was incredible, the sweet potatoe soufflé was perfect - not too sweet. Coupled with a salad and wonderful wine the dinner was divine. Then Martha's signature chocolate cake was a perfect end to a perfect night. Great friends, great food in a lovely spot! Kudos to Martha and Jean Michael. We plan to come back! Best, D Rich

We had an absolutely wonderful home cooked meal. We were fortunate that Martha and John Michael were able to spend time chatting with us at night and in the morning, when they prepared us a light delicious breakfast before we took the "long" trek back to Tallahassee and reality. We were very, very pleasantly surprised at this gem in Monticello, nay in the entire big bend region. If you are looking for a unique B&B that has reasonable prices, two owners that treat you like family and a charming decor then check this place out.

Martha and Jean-Michel at the Cottage B&B helped provide the absolute best Valentine's Day experience both my girlfriend and I have ever had. The hosts were continuously exceptionally warm, friendly, accomodating, and equally charming. I decided to have the optional thai shrimp dinner beforehand and it was outstanding. Also, the hosts were kind enough to add a Valentine's Day touch to the dinner and bedroom. The Romeo & Juliet room, in which we stayed, was very clean, comfortable, and aesthetically romantic. If my girlfriend and I decide to do another B&B in Monticello we will surely decide to re-live another exceptionally enjoyable experience at the Cottage.

Hi Martha & Jean Michael. Thanks for the pictures. Just wanted to take a minute to compliment you on your beautiful home. This was our first B&B stay and it will not be our last. You both were very pleasant and great cooks. The morning talks over coffee were very nice, you made our Thanksgiving weekend awesome. Jean Michael & his handy work is seen throughout the entire place. The man can do anything & the details are just unreal. I do hope to visit again. Hope you both have a Very Merry Christmas!

Hi Martha and Jean Michel, We wanted to thank both of you for a wonderful stay at your house. I know we were only there late in the evenings and early mornings, but your house was so comfortable!! Your room was very comfortable and clean. Your breakfasts were awesome and it was so nice to be able to talk with both of you. You are 2 wonderful people who care deeply about your customers (friends). You treated us like family and we appreciate it. My son needed that friendly environment so he could focus on staying relaxed and to be able to perform his best with the Florida State professor. Thanks again for sharing your home and I will definitely spread the word to others as well. Happy Holidays and hope to see you both again in the future. Paul and David M

My husband and I had such a wonderful time staying and visiting with Martha and Jean Michael. They are special people. All I have done is talk about them and their beautiful home, and wonderful cooking. I sure wish I could get the “gang” together for a get-away next month, but unfortunately won’t be able to come back that soon. Looking forward to another visit in the future, though. This is a "Thank you" for their wonderful hospitality!
