The Douglas House

We were very pleased with our accommodations and hosts. We arrived with a truck and trailer that we could not find parking for and the hosts assisted us with everything we needed to make our stay memorable. Will definitely go back!

I just spent 3 nights at the douglas house for my 24th birthday and I am so pleased with this guesthouse. We stayed at one of the suites for 6 people and it was great. The room was nice, clean, and very spacious. The location of the douglas house is amazing. Half a block from duval which is very convenient when you want to bar hop. The service was also great. The two gentleman at the front desk were very helpful with the tours we should take! Amazing stay and I would definitely recommend to all of my family and friends.

The Douglas house is in a great location and the rooms are spacious suites which are kept very clean. We spent our anniversary here and it was wonderful to have a room with a full kitchen. Floyd was very attentive and responsive to any questions. I will most certainly be returning on my next trip to Key West.

I booked at the Douglas House off the internet sight unseen. We were very surprised (and pleased) and enjoyed our stay. We will be back!!!

I don't believe they are enough adjectives in the dictionary to describe our Fabulous,Wonderful, Most Comforting, Peaceful, Serenity, Courteous, Professional, Excellence, THE BEST IN THE WORLD & PERFECT place to stay.The Douglas House and their professional staff Steven & Floyd were the best weekend host, so attentive, details to perfection, so accommodating and gracious and I must repeat, THE BEST IN THE WORLD. The Douglas House will always be my FIRST CHOICE when returning to Key West.....

We absolutely loved the Douglas House! The staff was absolutely wonderful & gave us the best advice on where to eat & visit (Thank you Steven & Floyd!!!) We will definitely stay there again! The room was very clean, and I’m VERY picky about cleanliness and the grounds were beautiful. Just off Duval St. Close enough to walk to the restaurants & bars, but far enough away that you can't hear them! Great experience & definitely exceeded our expectations! (There wasn't dining, but I had to rate it. There was always fresh coffee & tea by the pool.)

Everything was wonderful.. With in walking distance to all main attraction, never moved the car once we arrive. Staff was so friendly and always available. Room was superb... The grounds were beautiful.. Plan on many future visits...

Clean, quiet rooms at a good price. Quiet area, yet close to Duval Street.

This was our first trip to Key West and we wanted a nice place to stay that wasn't extremely expensive, but at the same time close to Old Town. Douglas House met both of these criteria. Just a half block off of Duval St. it was close to some shops and restaurants but the most action was on the other end of Duval, which is a mile long which made our end very quiet. They do not offer breakfast any longer. We stayed in Peach Palm #4 which is right off the street. It was very clean and neat. It had a small front porch with 2 chairs to enjoy the cool breezes during the day and evening. The porch was enclosed with lattice and had a secure and locking door. Locking French doors led from the porch to the bedroom. The bedroom had a queen side bed, 2 end tables and a corner cabinet with a TV. The bed seems to be a little antiquated. It was very bouncy...although we usually sleep on a Sleep number bed so it could be that we just aren't used to a regular spring mattress! A small refrigerator and microwave available. The bathroom had a shower with curtain, sink and a stool. Their was a medicine cabinet over the sink.The towels in our room were very nice and thick. A window air conditioner kept the room plenty cool but was noisy. We preferred using the ceiling fan. The wi-fi is nonexistent! There is a small pool in the middle of the housing complex, Towels, coffee and tea were provided poolside. An ice machine was situated in the deck area along with a soft drink machine. There is some parking in front of the Inn and other free parking is in their lot just down the block. We totally enjoyed our stay at the Douglas House. We like the idea of staying someplace that has the feeling of being in a home rather than some hotel room. If we ever find ourselves coming back to the Keys we will definitely return here and will recommend to friends to stay at the Douglas House.

Since I last stayed there they have increased security gates and vastly improved the decking around the pool. Good improvements. Loved my stay there. Wish there was a continental breakfast, though.

My Husband have been staying at the Douglas House for over 15 years and still love it as much as day 1! The rooms are kept exceptionally clean as well as the daily maintenance care of the outside premises. The owner and staff are very friendly and more than accomodating to one's needs. Although there is no dining at the Douglas House, there are more than enough local places to eat. We always look forward to our stay at the Douglas House and can't wait until next year's stay!!!!

Could not have asked for anything more. Rooms were spacious and clean. Floyd at the front desk was very helpful with places to eat and attractions. Me and the wife will be back!

We stayed at the Douglas house in June. Rooms were very nice and clean. The rates were very reasonable. The staff was helpful and pleasant. Right off of Duval and yet very quiet. We had a great veranda off of our room. The pool is very relaxing. We decided to get married there. They have a great little garden patio area right off of the pool area. There were 2 other couples down with us. My friend picked some flower from around the Inn (with manager's permission) and made me a beautiful bouquet. The wedding and the stay was wonderful and we (including the other 2 couples) would recommend staying here to anyone.

I went to the Douglas House with my sister and two friends. The suite that we stayed at was really nice, and the the private balcony and full kitchen were an added bonus. The only complaints were that the washer and dishwasher were loud, and the cook wear in the kitchen was warped, and not enough chairs at the pool. Other than that we found the place to pretty close to perfect. I would definitely go back to the Douglas House.

We had 6 guests and stayed in the Palmetto room. We loved the place and would definately stay there again

Four of us girls decided to get away after a cold winter in the Midwest. The Douglas House was just the ticket, clean, convenient, just off Duval and quiet. The garden and pool is awesome! The breakfast of cereal and muffins is enough to get the day started. This was my third time there and I will be back again soon. Definitely worth the visit! Oh and the staff was very helpful.

A lovely inn just off Duval at the quiet end. We loved the pool and gardens and the big veranda outside our room. The breakfast wasn't much, but got the day started on the terrace. The staff was pleasant and helpful. We'd go back!

What a great B&B! Wonderful garden and pool area with hot tub, clean attractive room with hardwood floors, great staff and location. Breakfast was very ordinary. We enjoyed our private porch for people watching.

This was our first time in the Keys , stopped at the visitors center on the way down and this is the place we ended up with, What a great last min find. The rooms were clean the staff was great. Super location !! We had a great time.

this is absolut the best and most cosey stay ever. I´v been travelling around the world and seen many. the tree house in canes and one in noosa in australia is a like and very nice. But the douglas house has a pool and is clean too. The staff is the best ever. Ben - the front desk manager - is really helpfull and do everything for you get the best rate and stay in the douglas house and around your further travel. We all think this was the best stay on our vacation. thans Ben.

The grounds are so lovely and romantic with fountains and trees. We really enjoyed the peace and quiet. The employees were exceptional, very pleasant and always there if you needed them. The suite was more than we expected and very comfortable. I have stayed at many Bed & Breakfasts in Key West and enjoyed every one of them but the Douglas House is at the top. If you are looking for a Bed & Breakfast that is quaint and romantic you must stay at the Douglas House!!!
