Very nice resort

4.6 on December 21, 2014

Beautiful heated pool, lush tropical environment, very nice hosts.

nice gay resort

3.2 on November 18, 2014

Comfortable setting to relax and enjoy the weather. Rooms were nicely sized and comfortable. Carpet was a bit dirty in our room (socks ended up discolored) but its southern florida. Pool was wonderful. Warm and clean, comfortable to skinny dip in the pool.

Very Relaxing

Everything was just fine. We had hoped for a hot tub, but there was none. Everyone was very friendly and the grounds are great. We will be back.. Although we are rating the dining ok, there was none.

Interesting Stay

3.2 on November 03, 2014

My stay was for two nights in a regular room, which was upgraded to a large, full one bedroom apartment free of charge. I was very much so impressed with the free upgrade. The pool and the common areas are very clean and neat, and so are the front and the sides of property. The manager was very nice and pleasant; he checked me in quickly, offered to tell me about the area and escorted me to my room. At one point I accidentally locked myself out of the room around 10pm. I had to call him after his business hours and he was nice enough to drive out to the property to let me back in. There was not a fee associated with this either. Upon entry into the apartment, it seemed to be very clean. I looked at the tile floors in the living & dinning room and they had no shoe marks or any sign of un-cleanliness. However, I cannot speak the same of the bathroom and the kitchen. Bathroom was full of little bugs, not sure what they were, but there were several of them and they were dead. There was also hair in and around the tub and the floor. The bathroom floor towel was dark, meaning the bathroom floor was not cleaned prior. Also, the running water was yellow. I thought maybe the apartment wasn’t used for a while so the water just needed to run for a while, but this wasn’t the case, it was yellow for the three days/two nights I was there. My toiletries weren’t replaced, even though I used up the shampoo and the shower gel. Similar story in the kitchen. On the surface it looks very clean, but once I opened a few drawers it was completely a different story. There were a lot of dead bugs, mostly small roaches and one big roach. I left few of those drawers opened, so the cleaning crew would notice it. They in fact did notice it and cleaned it out; however, they only cleaned out the drawers I left open. The bugs and small black spots (roach feces?) in other drawers and bottom cabinets were left un-cleaned. The refrigerator could have used a good cleaning too.

Weekend getaway

I make frequent trips to Ft Lauderdale and frequently stay at Cheston House. They always make me feel welcome and accommodating . The rooms are clean and comfortable. It's a short walk to the beach .

About what I expected

3.0 on August 04, 2014

Was a nice room and clean. However, the a/c was noisy and the water heater was set to scalding and could not be turned down...showers were an adventure. There are better/more popular options for the same money.

Great place for a laid back weekend

4.6 on July 12, 2013

This was my second stay within a few weeks. Staff was very attentive, would wait until I left or was at the pool to make up my room. What 4-5 star resort does that? Staff remembered who I was, even though I am a bit of a wallflower. Recommended several great places to eat, and made sure I hade everything I needed. Hope to return soon, even though it is hotter than hell in Ft Lauderdale this time of year!!

Amazing vacation

Great Place to Stay

5 on March 30, 2012

This was our first stay with a Gay Guest Resort/House in 15 years. We can not express how great The Cheston House was! We were in Fort Lauderdale for business and were able to add 2 days for ourselves and could not have made a better choice. The entire property was scrupulously clean and well maintained. Chuck and his crew are very genuinely kind, helpful and friendly. Cheston House is not the place if you want to be around Twinks, but if you are a man and don’t mind being around other men this is a great choice. Easy walk to Beach and local restaurants, the Gay Beach is a little bit of a walk South to Sebastian Street, but the sights are eye popping and worth the little bit of exercise. We will happily stay at The Cheston House again when we are back in South Florida. Thanks
