Inn Details
The best thing about the island of Muhu is its unspoilt nature. With its blossoming meadows (Muhu has 23 native varieties of orchid), vast juniper forests, and the proud limestone cliffs and caves of Üügu, it offers experiences that feel as if they were already lost from other places. The 12th-century gothic church of Katariina and the Koguva fishing village open-air museum are worth seeing and experiencing, as are the 11th-century Muhu castle and the Mäla village graveyard, dating back to 2500 BC.
The natural environment of Muhu is inhabited by foxes, wild deer, wild goats, wild boar, elk and many varieties of bird, and would you believe it, Muhu also houses the Laasu ostridge farm.
And as the name of Muhu’s port Kuivastu indicates, it rarely rains on Muhu!
