Exceptional B & B! Dave and Jane are wonderful hosts and the accommodations are beautiful! This was our third stay at Pickwick Inn and we will stay again when in the area.

The owners of the Pickwick Inn Bed & Breakfast are friendly and helpful, and they are definite people-persons. The room we stayed in (the Agatha Christie room) was comfortable and delightful in its clever little touches of whimsy. We stayed for two nights (Friday May 1st and Saturday May 2nd), and the breakfasts that we were served were sumptuous and delicious. I really appreciated the fact that the lady of the house took pains to keep noise to a minimum when I was taking a nap on Saturday afternoon. In addition, each room has a bookshelf loaded with books applicable to its room (i.e. Agatha Christie mysteries in the Agatha Christie room).

So much attention to detail. An example: health care products in the medicine cabinet that are from other decades

Note: Our ratings reflect the fact that we have visited this B&B before! This was our second stay at Pickwick and we will return. It's location affords easy drives to the Kettle Moraine hiking trails and Oxford Lake, biking trails, Lake Geneva, and Madison. It's rooms are quite adequate for our stay: we're not into Victorian fussy. Breakfast is always an abundant treat: eggs, a meat, fruit, OJ, coffee. A full refrigerator stocked with free water and other canned drinks is available to guests. There's a nice parlor for reading or relaxing. You can walk to a nice restaurant, Ivan's on the Square, just a block away. During the warm weather, breakfast is served on the screened porch. One can sit on the big swing and enjoy the quiet ambience of a small town. The hosts are pleasant and welcoming family people. They will engage when you want to engage and leave you alone when you're not. We have met 3 other couples during our two stays (usually during the week) and all are quite nice. Some stay at the Pickwick while visiting nearby.

We stayed 3/20 - 3/22. We had planned a little get away for my husbands Bday, and to be honest, we were a little scared having never been to a B&B. Dave and Jane are such kind and thoughtful hosts! They really put us at ease and made us feel so comfortable. The Inn is beautifully decorated and even has a couple different sitting rooms, with fireplaces, for you to enjoy. They also have a big TV and movies, if you are so inclined, as well as a huge cabinet loaded with games. We stayed in the Charles Dickens room, and loved it. Especially the jacuzzi tub, which was huge! The room was adorable and spotless. There is a fridge outside the rooms that they keep stocked with complimentary drinks, including wine coolers and mikes hard lemonades ect....thought that was a nice touch. The breakfast that was were served was outstanding! Not only was the food delicious, there was enough to feed an army! Best apple pancake ever! They are located right by "the square" which has several bars and restaurants. Based on recommendations from Dave and Jane, We ate at Ivans on Friday. Food was great, met some really nice people too. We also hung out at one of the bars both nights and had a great time. The people around here are so friendly! The Inn is also near Lake Geneva, where we spent some time Saturday afternoon. Saturday night we went to Mukwanago (short drive). Stopped at Pam's fine wines for a free wine tasting before dinner. Great little place, could totally hang out there. Across the street is Fork in the Road, which is where we ate. The food was awesome! We also picked up a pie from Elegant Farmer because we were told we had too, and it was very tasty. In between all our outings, we would pop back into our room to nap, relax in the sitting room, or chat with Dave and Jane. I have to say, this was the most relaxing get away we have ever had. Great place, great people, great food, great area. Thank you so much, we really enjoyed our stay!

We just celebrated our 20th Wedding Anniversary and spent three nights at the Pickwick Inn in the Louisa May Alcott room. We will be back. You simply cannot find a better experience for the dollar, period. Each room is quaint, the food was amazing, the hosts were so welcoming and easy to engage, there is a wonderful restaurant within walking distance, and others nearby. And it is quiet. There is a warm and comfy room with fireplace at the foot of the curved stairwell that leads up to the rooms. That common room is great for reading, sipping beverages, chatting, etc., and is really just as much a part of the experience as the private bedrooms. It is somewhat isolated from the rest of the house so as a guest you do not feel like you are intruding on the hosts' "space". Short 15-20 minute drives to nearby attractions makes the Pickwick a very affordable retreat compared to the pricier places nearer those destinations, and the quick trips afford relaxing jaunts through pastoral scenery that enhances the overall adventure.

Excellent breakfast. Very clean. Old world charm. Loved the whirlpool. Even got a free glass of wine at Ivans for mentioning that we were staying at the Pickwick Inn. Very nice couple own the B & B.

We stayed in the Louisa May Alcott room this past weekend. It was wonderful! The room was very large and had an amazing fireplace that really warmed up the room on a cold night. Everything was spotlessly clean and well thought-out. In addition, the bed was so comfortable we could barely wake up for breakfast! We were, however, very glad we woke up for breakfast! The food was plentiful, delicious and kept us going until the mid afternoon. The house itself is gorgeous; very large, quiet, and comfortable. There are two main sitting rooms, both of which we took advantage. Extras including hot tea and coffee, bottled water and drinks, plenty of interesting books and NO TV in the rooms were all appreciated!!! The location was also very convenient for siteseeing in Lake Geneva and hiking in Kettle Moraine South. We hope to come back again this summer with friends! Thank you again to Dave and Jane for a wonderful weekend getaway.

We just needed a quick get away from the Ill. Wis. border. Who would have thought that going an hour away bring so much relaxation. We ate at Ivan's across the street. The food was delicious. The morning breakfast was outstanding as well as the conversation with Dave and the other guests!! 5 stars from us!!!! I highly recommend this bed and breakfast!!

It was our first time experience to spend a weekend at "bed & breakfast" and we couldn't pick a better place! House is magical, room was cozy and breakfasts delicious. It would be also hard to find more friendly people than Jane and Dave, hosts and owners of Pickwick Inn.

Thanks for the nice review. We do get a fair number of first-time B&B'ers, and many are surprised how much they enjoy it. We're glad you did.
