    Our sunlit front dining room is set for a delicious breakfast with fellow travelers. Enjoy breakfast served between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m., with early coffee and homemade spice biscotti out at 7:00 a.m.
    Enjoy our spacious living room, with several seating areas, a gas fireplace lit in the cold weather, and a buffet stocked with snacks and an assortment of instant hot beverages.
    Room 6 has a queen bed and a cozy sitting area with an electric fireplace. The ensuite bath has an old-fashioned clawfoot tub for soaking. The room overlooks the garden behind the Inn.
    Room 1 has a king bed and a large ensuite bath, with an electric fireplace. Ask about our celebration packages to add a special touch to your weekend.
    Room 4 has two full-size beds, perfect for a girlfriend getaway, completely with shopping and spas, or family members traveling together to experience the rich history of the Shepherdstown area.
    Room 5 has a queen bed made in West Virginia and an ensuite bath with cheery yellow walls.

    Best B&B Ever!

    The inn was beautifully decorated, very inviting and quite comfortable. The innkeepers treated us more like family so it was difficult to leave when the time came. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Jim and Jeanne really pay attention to detail. They thought of everything to be sure our stay was a truly wonderful one. I highly recommend Thomas Shepherd Inn!

    For those looking to visit historic (including Civil War sites) as well as charming places, the Thomas Shepherd Inn is just the right place, located as it is in downtown Shepherdstown West Virginia. The inn itself is comfortable and clean and is worth spending time in the spacious guest parlor. Jeanne and Jim are great hosts, making the guest feel right at home, from the moment one arrives to the time one leaves. Put the Thomas Shepherd Inn at the top of your list.

    Another fantastic visit to Thomas Shepherd Inn!

    Once again I was not disappointed with a fantastic stay at Thomas Shepherd Inn. My room was ultra comfortable, my breakfast divine and I did a little shopping within walking distance. Each visit brings me back to their local Thai restaurant Kazu which is always great. I stayed in Room #4 which has two queen beds and a nice wingback chair with lamp for reading. I was also able to order a super inroom massage. Ask the innkeeper about this. If you find yourself in Shepherdstown or neighboring areas like Harper's Ferry, Antietam or Martinsburg - I wholeheartedly recommend this B&B!

    Best Lodging Choice in Shepherdstown!

    Thomas Shepherd Inn is a fabulous place to stay when visiting Shepherdstown or nearby Harper's Ferry. The rooms are clean, spacious and very comfortable. The inn is decorated well and very inviting. We enjoyed dining with other guests over a fine breakfast both mornings. You can park behind the inn and walk to local stores and restaurants within one block, including a small bakery with a case of fresh baked goodies and nice coffee. It is worth stopping in there if just to absorb the aroma in the bakery. We recommend this inn to any and all who enjoy fine lodging in a great location.

    Noisy traffic

    At a 4-Way-Stop intersection of US 230 / 480, Railroad a few blocks away, very noisy with traffic at night

    We are sorry to hear now that this guest was unhappy with their stay; sorrier still that s/he made no mention of this problem during the stay so that we may have worked to find a solution, such as relocating to one of our two guest rooms that are away from the street. All of our windows have double or triple panes and the clock/radio in each room can provide ‘nature sounds’ if desired. The railroad tracks are ½ mile away on the other side of town, not a few blocks. We can only point to our high percentage of repeat guests and our other reviews as evidence that the noise at night is not bothersome to a great many people. If you are extremely sensitive to noise, please discuss that with us when calling for information or a reservation and we can help you with your choices.

    A wonderful experience

    Every year or so, my brother, sister, and I get together for a "family reunion." These mini-vacations are very important to us, so we try very hard to stay at a place that is beautiful, comfortable, and interesting. At our last reunion, we decided to have a Civil War themed vacation. After a lot of research, we chose the Thomas Shepherd Inn. It is a gorgeous B&B, it is near every place we wanted to visit, and the owners, Carol and Ed, are the perfect hosts. What more can you ask for?

    We had a wonderful stay at the inn. It's so well-kept, and the innkeepers were very friendly and inviting. The room we stayed in, #1, was absolutely beautiful, and the breakfast that the innkeepers served in the morning was by far the best French toast we've ever had. Our favorite B&B we've ever been to!
