This was a beautiful bed and breakfast with wonderful owners that treat you like family. The food was delicious and the attention to detail was wonderful. I am looking at the calendar for 2015 to see when we can go back.
The owner was friendly and welcoming. Although we arrived a bit earlier than check-in time, they quickly finished preparing the room for us. Breakfast was good and filling, nothing fancy but fresh eggs, bacon and fruit juices. The room was a disappointment. The heating vent was blowing cold air right onto our heads at night. The knob in the bathroom sink would come off. The bedroom and the bathroom in which we stayed definitely need upgrading as they are old. Perhaps the owner is planning to do this already, which would make the place good value for money.
The Grandview Lodge is a very cozy little place in what feels like the middle of nowwhere. We appreciated the silence and the fireplace in our room very much. The host was accomodating, cooked breakfast for us in the morning and gave us tips about what to do, eat and see in the nearby town.
My wife and I stayed here while we were driving through the southeast U.S. as part of our vacation. The hosts were an absolute joy and did everything they could to ensure it all went well. The scenery was lovely as well as we just made it before the trees shed their colorful fall regalia. Everything we wanted (Smoky Mountains, Biltmore, Blue Ridge Parkway, etc.) was just an hour away. Finally, as part of our trip, we got the gift certificate to the Chef's Table, which we highly recommend. In short, everything was great and we look forward to our next opportunity to visit our newest N.C. friends. Almost forgot--the breakfasts were great!
The Yellow House has been one of the best experiences for a weekend getaway. Our room was spotless!!!! Shawn and his staff went out of their way to make us feel special but also comfortable enough to make ourselves at home. The breakfast they serve is something from an upscale restaurant and if your tastes are not exactly what they are serving they will cook you something different. I can not wait to go back and visit!!!
We stayed in the Magnolia Suite and it was wonderful. The owners were very friendly and helpful with suggestions. The downstairs exercise area and game room was exceptional. The Garden Room where you eat breakfast was always warm and inviting and had a special treat available each night. It was a delightful area and we can't wait to visit again.
The Yellow House is a classic, pretty, Southern B and B, with great facilities and amenities and AMAZING customer service. Shawn and his team make you feel welcome at every point -- from the early emails and phone conversations, to check in, to daily yummy southern breakfasts, to wine and cheese at 5 pm, to check out. The rooms are spacious, clean, and nice, Mine had a fireplace and a tub with jets. And you will never go hungry with the myriad snacks in the main house. Stay here for sure. You will be glad you did!
My wife and I stopped through on a whim to see the ginger bread house competition at the Grove Park Inn. It was short notice during Thanksgiving weekend, so the prices were off the chart at most other establishments. We gave the Oak Hill B&B a try and were so glad we did! Shell and Deb were the most delightful hosts and the food she prepared was prepared with love! It was delicious and quite satisfying! They work as a team and are very attentive and helpful. We are looking forward to our return in the spring!
I have stayed at the Yellow House numerous times over the last five years because of the lovely accommodations, outstanding service, location, and charm of the place. There are few inns or bed & breakfasts I have enjoyed so much! Thank you for your gracious hospitality.
The House was very nice inside, the room was quiet, well decorated, cozy. The breakfast was on time and severed well. The Lady of the House was very kind. The location is close to the main Hwy, very convenient . We will go back !
My husband searched online and found this place for us to stay. Wow! He did a great job. He and I stayed in the Rocky Mountain Suite. It was very nice. The bed was very comfortable and the whirlpool was roomy. The breakfast each morning was good and hot. The service was great. Very interesting history with the house. I would definitely stay there again. Met some very nice people. The pictures posted on this site are the true pictures of the house. Close to downtown Waynesville. Great restaurants and shopping. Within driving distance of several sites. Glenn and Jen are wonderful hosts and are full of information about where to go and what to do. You cannot go wrong here!
Deb and Shell provide excellent service. Great location being outside of Asheville but still close enough to take advantage of the city. Would and probably will stay again.
We were pleasantly surprised by the feel & hospitality at Grandview Lodge. Our hosts were delightful & our breakfasts were delicious using local ingredients. Very reasonably priced for quality of room & amenities on the property :-) Conveniently located to food & local attractions, yet a wonderful rural feel. We didn't get to utilize firepit because we were worn out from our daily outings & our Son was on a walker recouping from a broken femur. Our room was handicapped accessible & if weather had been a little warmer we would have utilized the rockers on the covered porch outside our room. We will definitely return to this cozy yet spacious property. Comforts of home yet a camp-like feel conducive to meeting other guests...glamping :-)
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Andon-Reid recently and had a wonderful time. The couple that own the place are exceptional. So friendly and helpful. Giving us suggestion on places to go and even making reservations for us. The house is beautiful and there is so much to do and see around there. Less than 30 minutes away from Asheville as well. Highly recommend the place.
We SO enjoyed our time at Brookside Mountain Mist Inn! Our room did indeed have a mountain view. This inn is across the street from the Waynesville, NC Country Club and in a very nice neighborhood. The grounds are spotless, the food was outstanding and Carolyn and Dina made us feel like we were their very welcome guests!
We have stayed in 5 star hotels that did not offer what the Swag provided. We stayed in the Terrace Cabin and with the rustic beauty and scenic view I was in love. There is no TV just WiFi and Sirius radio. This was our first visit but we had a couple who was on their 22nd visit. There was so much great food from breakfast, to our picnic lunch (where you have a choice of a bag lunch, backpack or picnic basket) to a the hors d'oeuvres and then a 4 course dinner. While at dinner they come into your room and turn down your bed and leave chocolates (I am diabetic and they even left sugar free chocolates for me)! The wonderful Dan and Deener who developed this wonderful paradise and shared it with everyone is still there everyday. They know everyone and treat them like family. They sit with everyone, eat meals and socialize and give great facts and the history learned was amazing. If you can, you have to visit this rustic paradise! We can't wait to come back. Everything was wonderful and I wish I could have stayed longer.
This was our first experience staying at a Bed & Breakfast and Andon-Reid Inn exceeded our expectations. Mark, Cary, and Ashley were gracious hosts. We are looking forward to our next visit.
