Although the Fenster-Davis Suite has a dedicated bathroom, visiting the bathroom requires a walk down a shared hallway, past the main stairway. It didn't feel very private, or convenient -- especially when making a trip in the middle of the night. Although the weather in Richmond was cool during our stay, the room was uncomfortably warm. There are no thermostats accessible to the suite. Other than these two concerns, everything was exceptional. It is a beautiful B&B with fantastic service and location.

We spent two nights at the Grace Manor Inn and this B&B and Richmond itself were the highlight of our trip. The house is gorgeous - the pictures don't do it justice. The rooms are immaculate and tastefully decorated. The owners are kind and make a delicious breakfast. The coffee was SO good. There is a nice big pool in the backyard but it was too cold to swim during our stay. We stayed in the Zimmerman Suite on the top floor. It has a large bedroom and living room. The bathroom is just outside the room. It's literally two steps away and completely private. There was a room across from our room (also gorgeous - the Shortt Suite) but it was not occupied during our stay. The Fensterer-Davis Suite was the only suite on the second floor and was the biggest and grandest. The location is very central and we were able to drive to all of the sites in about 10 minutes. Monument Ave is a 1/2 block behind the house and the statue of Lee is about a block down. We were able to walk to it and take its picture at sunset. We debated between one of the upscale hotels or this B&B and we are SO glad we chose the Grace Manor Inn. It was maintained and run like a high end hotel but with history and character. Thanks for an awesome visit!

We had a great time staying at the Grace Manor B&B! The place is in walking distance to many highly rated bakery and restaurants. The property is immaculate, and our suite was comfortable and nicely decorated. The proprietors are a very cordial couple with three amigos, their friendly Yorkies. The best part was gourmet three course breakfast. We would definitely stay there again.

What a wonderful time we had at the Grace Manor Inn! The house is gorgeous and beautifully decorated and maintained by innkeepers Albert and Dawn. We stayed in the Fensterer-Davis suite on the second floor where we had a bedroom, sitting room and private bath. We also spent a lot of time sitting in and admiring the incredible detail of the main floor rooms in this 100+year-old house. Albert and Dawn are very knowledgable about its history and also regaled us with tales of the time, effort and love they have put into keeping it looking so beautiful. During our two-night stay Albert made us two amazing 3-course breakfasts - complete with dessert! - and he also had wonderful recommendations for dinners and sight-seeing. He never steered us wrong. Albert and Dawn own three little yorkies that are very sweet and sometimes visit but they don't live on the premises so no worries either from a noise or an allergy standpoint. We can't say enough about what a great weekend we spent here!

Oh, where to begin.... We drove down to Virginia from Connecticut for a long weekend. We left around 4 in the morning so I knew that by the time we came into Richmond in the evening all I would want is just feel at home. The wonderful, gracious, and kind hosts of the Grace Manor Inn made it possible. Before we even stepped foot in the exquisite Manor, Albert called in the morning to confirm our arrival and was accommodating to our estimated arrival time. Once we arrived, he met us at the gate and was a perfect host. He gave us a brief history of the house which just added to the charm of the home. The establishment itself was both beautiful and comfortable. It was evident that this wasn't just a B&B to pay the bills; it was handled with love and care. The entire manor was best compared to something Gastby would have loved but with a Southern charm. We stayed in the Shortt Suite on the third floor which was a wonderful space which had a private bath and sitting room. The room was quiet and we did not hear anyone in the house. Breakfast was...well, it was something I will miss every day for the rest of my life! Albert and Dawn took care to make something new, different, and delicious every day. A three course breakfast and a Bellini is something every day should start with! There were three other guests when we were there and it was wonderful to sit and chat with everyone in the mornings and have company to indulge in the meals with.It was near devastating the learn that the Manor was up for sale and I only hope the new owners will give it the same love, attention, and kindness that Albert and Dawn have for their property and their guests. We wish them the best of luck in their new endeavor! Also, the yorkies are adorable (and not noisy!)

Did a quick Google search for B & B's in the Fan/Museum District and The Grace Manor Inn was the most interesting. Beautiful manor house, circa 1915 with gorgeous appointments. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious served by a very engaging host. Highly recommended!

I recently opted for something other than a standard hotel during a recent business trip. Did a search for B&B in Richmknd and found a true gem. So much hospitality I almost didn't know how to act! Absolutely stunning and well worth it.

Upon arriving you should drive around back into a small alleyway directly behind the house that has ample parking right next to the carriage house. I would suggest calling prior to arrival to coordinate your check in so the innkeeper is there to greet you. You enter the house through a locked gate adjacent to the parking area that acts not only as the entry and egress for the house, but also serves as one side of a Sally port for the homes three resident Yorkies. This gate is also where you will be greeted by the innkeeper (Albert Schick) which was a very friendly fellow, eager to please and will probably offer to help you carry your luggage inside and up to your room. There is a pool, not from the 1910 era, but a much more modern added amenity tastefully done that blends very nicely with the adjoining garden area and back of the home. I should point out, the home sits on a double lot, so it probably has the most spacious outdoor relaxation space of any home in the area. There are four rooms to choose from in this Inn, each uniquely decorated. There is one suite on the second floor across the hall from the owners suite, two more suites on the third floor and a fourth suite above the detached carriage house out back. Each suite in the main house has its own sitting room, bedroom and private bathroom. The sitting rooms are attached to the bedrooms via an interior passageway and both rooms each have their own hallway door, however the bathroom is only accessible via a hallway door. Wifi was available throughout the house. I found the bed to be very comfortable and definitely the best mattress I slept on during my two week trip around Virginia and Maryland. The home is splendidly well maintained, impeccably clean and is truly a magnificent sight to behold. Built in 1910 and has been kept near to its original construction and has been furnished with period pieces that suit the home very well and lend to the overall grander of the home.

One of the few remaining B & Bs in The Fan, Grace Manor Inn is peaceful and beautiful, with friendly innkeepers (three of whom are very nice Yorkshire Terriers), great food, and attractive, comfortable suites. There is even an outdoor pool, although it was too chilly to swim when we were there it was beautifully maintained in the fall. And if the weather cooperates, Grace Manor Inn is within walking distance of lots of great local destinations. Highly recommended!

Everything about the Grace Manor Inn is great. Beautifully decorated, clean, great food, great service and very very nice owners. We stayed during Easter weekend. Another guest told us he been staying there every Easter weekend for almost 10 years. It's located just off Monument Ave and about 3/4 mile from the Museum of Fine Art. Walk on Monument Ave to see all the beautiful architecture of "The Fan" district. Not too far from VCU and far enough to avoid students if you want to. One of the owners also owns The Carytown Cupcake shop. We recommend a visit there for some great cupcakes. Take some to a park with a coffee for an afternoon picnic. Tell them you're staying at the Grace Manor Inn for a little discount. Albert was really accommodating and let us keep our car parked at the Inn after checkout so we could stroll the Monument Ave Easter Parade. Super nice folks.
