  • Acorn Inn's renovated horse barn, is now a cheerful lodge, housing ten cozy bedrooms (complete with original stall doors!), a lounge called the UnCommon Room, an 800-sq.ft. Reception Gallery, 2-kitchenettes, a wrap-around deck and a covered patio. Ideal for weekend and overnight events of all kinds!
    This is what we call the "UnCommon Room" at the Inn, a colorful lounge with comfy chairs and futon couches, folk art, photos, tapestries, soapstone bakeoven fireplace, TV (with Dish Network programming), games, and more! It is one of two spacious meeting rooms which provide creative, relaxed conversation space.
    Room 8 (on the east-facing side of the Inn), one of ten cozy, art-filled bedrooms (originally horse stalls!) Each room has central heat and A/C, as well as a ceiling fan, and big window to let the sunshine in.

    Acorn Cottage, across the road from our Farmhouse office and Inn, has a full kitchen, bedroom w. queen and twin, bathroom with tub/shower and living room w. queen sofa/bed. Ideal for couples, small families, privacy, and meal prep savings.

    Relax on the Cottage deck with your morning coffee or in the evening with your preferred beverage---sure to be serenaded by sounds of the natural world!
    Cozy kitchen in the Acorn Cottage has a full oven/stove, toaster, coffee-maker, microwave, kettle, and numerous pots and pans. We put the breakfast goodies in the fridge (oj, coffee,tea, home-baked breads, and more) so you can wake up whenever you want.

La granja, hogar de los dueños, cuenta con dos camas queen habitaciones, compartiendo un baño, y está abierto sólo cuando Cottage Inn y están ocupadas.     Labourday Weekend Stay

    This is the third year in a row that I've stayed at the Acorn Inn and my plan is to continue to come back at last once a year. Kathy and Martin are very accommodating. They always have strong coffee, a great breakfast, and have fantastic ideas for things to do around the area. I stay at the studio and it's a beautiful place with a deck overlooking the mountains. The beds are always clean and neat, as are the bathrooms. Highly recommended. Kathy and Martin make me feel at home.

    Three Times In A Row -

    We have stayed here for multi-day events on three occasions and would recommend the inn, the innkeepers, and the locale to anyone. The location is sublime. The attention to detail was spot on. The area is beautiful. Martin and Kathy made us feel like lifelong friends rather than "just" guests. We'll return any and every time we're in Nelson County.

    A Week in a Horse Stall

    October in Nelson county is beautiful, and Acorn Inn was perfect! Kathy and Martin are very accommodating, friendly and knowledgeable hosts. The rooms (stalls!) are cozy and comfortable, the bathrooms fine, the whole place is spotless. The towels even smell like a mountain morning. But the star of the place is the FOOD! We were totally spoiled by the variety of home made offerings each morning. If you are staying in Nelson county, forget the high-priced places. Stay at Acorn Inn.

    For people who want a clean, simple, interesting, friendly, inexpensive place to stay while travelling, or to escape the city for a few days, the Acorn Inn is a wonderful place. Perfect for gatherings of like-minded friends or family.

    Wedding Reception

    I rented the Reception Area for our Granddaughters Wedding Reception and we also rented the 10 rooms in the inn for family and friends. Kathy and Martin were so helpful, we couldn't have done it with out them. There was nothing we asked for that they didn't provide and help us with. I would recommend this Inn for Family events of any kind. We are going to plan more family get togethers there. Look for pictures coming soon on their web site we are planning on sending them. It was a wonderful weekend. They are the best Inn keepers and just wonderful people. The Breads were the best in the morning with our coffee. Can't wait to visit again. Kay and Bobby Knight

    Acorn Inn - wonderful hosts

    My wife and I do the art and craft circuit. We found the Acorn in to be very reasonably priced, clean, and wonderful hosts in Kathy and Martin. We stayed in the converted stable so rooms were a little small and we had shared bathrooms. Very festive atmosphere as place is decorated with many art pieces of Kathy and those collected from their world travels. You will not find anyone more knowledgable about bike touring.     I had a great experience at the Acorn Inn last fall. The innkeepers are very helpful, they cook the best bread and muffins in the area, and the coffee is remarkable! Very celan rooms and restrooms. This is a gorgous, quite place, great for a getaway.

    great cottage

    We stayed in the cottage, and it was fantastic. It was very cozy, and the innkeepers were very hands-off. We would come home from our day trips to find the fridge full of freshly baked goods and juice for breakfast the next day. Very quiet and off the beaten path. No better place for stargazing. We did have to drive 10 minutes to use our cell phones...not a complaint, just an FYI.
