Ardmore Inn

We love the village of Woodstock, VT but hadn't stayed there before. We choose the Ardmore Inn from the B&B.com website and we're so glad we did. The host was charming and the breakfast was fabulous! We highly recommend it!

I recently stayed at the Ardmore for three nights with my daughter while attending the Dartmouth reunion in Hanover, NH. It was worth the drive between Woodstock and Hanover. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and hope to return. Woodstock is a great place to visit but the Ardmore made it even more worth visting. It is very clean, the rooms are fresh with great beds and bedding. Charlotte makes extraordinary breakfasts and there is always a treat like cookies and lemonade to greet you upon your return in the afternoon and evening. Charlotte and Cary are great innkeepers and make you feel so welcome with their generosity and hospitality.

We have stayed at many B&B's, but the Ardmore Inn is the best we have ever experienced. The hosts, Charlotte and Cary, were so friendly and warm that we felt immediately at home. The rooms are all beautifully furnished, the linens wonderful, and the breakfasts are just delicious and inventive from fresh ingredients, and are beautifully presented. Even the table linens were different each morning! The books and prints in the library and and in each room were extraordinary, pointing out the owners' love of literature, art, and Vermont! And the fact that there are no tv's or phones made the experience even better. Freshly made cookies each afternoon accompanied by cider, coffee, or tea, was just wonderful. They even provided cookies on the morning that we reluctantly left them. We would return in a heartbeat!!

Gail and I have been visiting the Ardmore for several years now. We go twice a year, during the autumn colors and the December holidays...... I can not say enough good things about the warmth and pleasantries we receive. We feel like we are not just going to a B&B, but rather visiting family!!! The Hollingsworths are truly special people!! Charlotte was just the right mix of friendly and helpful and unobtrusive. The room was large but cozy and had a great vibe. And the food was delicious and fresh (fresh from the oven homemade scones anyone?). A+.

Our first stay at a B & B was fantastic. Beautiful rooms, gourmet breakfasts and a innkeeper that was informative about the quaint village of Woodstock, Vt. The inn location was easily walkable to all village stores and attractions. The local restaurants were exceptional. I would not hesitate to stay at the Ardmore Inn on our next visit to Vermont. We enjoyed every moment at the Ardmore Inn. Charlotte, the Ardmore Innkeeper, treated us like special guests, and guided us through the rites of passages for Dartmouth graduation ceremonies. My graduate was actually soo busy with revelry. We appreciated Charlotte's guidance. The best part of graduation events, other than the joy of watching my only child take the Hippocratic Oath, was staying at the Ardmore Inn, Woodstock, Vermont. My concern about distance to Hanover was unfounded. The Ardmore Inn and Woodstock were the perfect respite during graduation because of congestion, unavailability of dining and space to move in Hanover. Charlotte prepared the best synchronized to order breakfast for all guests. I watched her prepare her recipe from scratch for scones that were the best, flaky delicious ever. The Raspberry Jam served was perfect! Her frittata recipe, garden fresh vegetables, baked not fried, superb. All-in-all meals were the best ever and the stay was perfect. The beds were exquisite and linens, the finest. The Ardmore Library reflected Charlotte’s eclectic taste in literature with local history and Nature books. Her prior experience in publishing and books was evident by the relevant selected books both in the Library Room and disbursed throughout the Inn at strategic locations. The daily papers were always available on the period early American library desk. The Ardmore furnishings are perfect New England Americana. By the way, Charlotte accommodated my 96 y old Mom and me and made this visit a great event and memory for us. What more could I ask for in life than to have my mother be at her granddaughters’ graduation from Dartmouth Medical School and have every part of the event go perfectly. Maybe Emily will return to Dartmouth for a graduate program or specialty training and we can stay at the ARDMORE. Charlotte went well above and beyond providing excellent accommodations. I want to return, soon!

My husband and I just stayed at the Ardmore Inn over Memorial Day weekend while attending a wedding in Woodstock, Vermont. As innkeepers Charlotte and Cary Hollingsworth were terrific. We arrived a little early after a very long drive from Virginia but our room was ready. Charlotte had lemonade and homemade cookies awaiting us in the dining room. We stayed in Tully on the second floor facing the street but noise was not a problem with the air conditioner running. I loved the sound of the church bells from across the street. The room was clean and attractive in decor. (There was a portable hanging rack for our clothes rather than a closet or wardrobe but that didn't matter to us.) The breakfast that Charlotte fixes is outstanding. Other wedding guests stayed at the Ardmore Inn and they agreed that the food was delicious! Woodstock is a charming New England town. I hope to get back someday and if I do I will definitely stay at the Ardmore.

Nestled within beautiful Woodstock, VT the Ardmore Inn offers a wonderful home away from home vacation destination. Comfortable rooms a delicious breakfast and outstanding hospitality were provided by the innkeepers, ask for Charlotte’s chocolate chip cookies, they were out of this world good.

Charlotte was a wonderful host and provided us with fantastic restaurant recommendations as well as a delicious breakfast! Our room was clean and comfortable and we could not have asked for more. An excellent value!

The innkeeper, Charlotte, remembered everyone's name and cooked fabulous breakfasts every morning. The beds were very comfortable, towels very luxurious. Charlotte provided many helpful hints and places to visit. I'd definitely go back. She provides recipes too.

Charlotte and Gary have created a Bed and Breakfast that exceeds any we have stayed in. From the minute we checked in to the hug at the end of the stay, we couldn't have been more happy. Breakfasts were amazing and when we asked for the recipe for one of the breakfast scones, Charlotte had it ready for me at checkout. We will definitely be back at highly recommend it to anyone looking for the ultimate B&B experience.

We loved everything about this charming B & B. The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable and the linens were like new. The inkeeper went out of her way to suggest for things for us to do. We know the area pretty well but thanks to her we found some new attractions to explore and enjoy. The breakfast was one of the best we have ever had. The whole experience couldn't have been better and we will definitely be back.

The Ardmore Inn is such a wonderful inn to stay in. The Inn has quite a bit of history all on its own. Very clean and crisp. Close to walking to dinner if you wish, and the breakfast that comes with your stay was a 5-star, outstanding breakfast. The Ardmore Inn should be on the map a 'must stay in' Inn. Top 10 list.

A terrific Inn with attention to detail. The Innkeepers took the time to give us local information to help us make the most of our visit. There is a great deal of thought on the part on their part with regard to every aspect of your stay. Each days breakfast was new and amazing. Great location to access all the area has to offer with easy walking convenience to local restaurants.

The innkeepers went out of their way to make us feel at home from the minute we arrived (homemade cookies, tea, coffee) to the sumptuous breakfast feast uon our departure. Convenient locaiton walking distance to town, definitely would stay there again and recommend to others. Only negative was no TV to watch the Olympics!

This was my first B & B experience and it exceeded my expectations by a mile. We were so well taken care of . . . . from suggestions of what activities fit our needs, dinner reservations on a very busy weekend and many thoughtful and caring touches throughout. We definitely felt that our hosts wanted our entire trip to be a wonderful experience. We will definitelty visit the Ardmore again!

We stumbled upon Ardmore by accident. When we arrived, Charlotte was very pleasant. Asked if we had any dislikes or alergies for breakfast, I mentioned I did not care for nuts. She had already made some cookies with nuts but went out of her way to make oatmeal cookies for me. The linens on the bed were so crisp and clean! Breakfast was the best B&B breakfast I had ever had. We stayed one night at the Ardmore Inn after a day of skiing. From the moment we walked through the door, Charlotte could not have been more welcoming. The cider and cookies served in the afternoon were wonderful. Charlotte provided some excellent recomendations for dinner. Our room was immaculate a beutifully appointed with antique furniture and local artwork. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in the lovely village of Woodstock.

The Ardmore Inn is beautifully restored. Walking through its rooms and hallways makes you feel like traveling back in time. Charlotte, the inn-keeper, also cooks wonderful breakfast, one of the best I've had in a B&B. Great amenitites and wonderful service, what more could you ask for?

Charlotte and Cary's motto is: Arrive as a guest, leave as a friend, and exactly that transformation takes place with guests who enjoy all the pleasures the inn can give them: a very warm welcome, a cozy living room with a fireplace, lots of books and magazines to enjoy, the warm apple cider and tea and coffee, everyday fresh homebaked cookies, a top of the bill breakfast, no TVs, very pleasant and relaxing. Furthermore, Charlotte is a walking library on where to do what, townhall plays, restaurants, and outdoor activities.

Spent last night at the Ardmore, and had a very nice time. Charlotte was more than helpful with dining suggestions, where to shop, where to go to the movies. Breakfast was amazing, as well as her cookies! Room was comfortable, nice sheets and bed.

A perfect stay for our 15th wedding anniversary down to the complimentary bubbly waiting for us after returning from dinner. Charlotte was an exceptional innkeeper!

We adore the Ardmore and visit two times per year. The innkeepers are very friendly and knowledgable of the area. The inn is immaculate. Many of the rooms have been upgraded from pictures on the website. The rooms are bright, cherry and very comfortable. The breakfasts are wonderful - 3 courses and you get to pick your entree on a menu the night before. Charlotte is a wonderful cook. We also love the cookies, lemon bars, or any other treats that offered in teh afternoon/evenings. We absolutely adore this inn and the town. There are lovely country roads for long walks and 2 covered bridges in the area.

We stayed at the Ardmore in mid July and had a wonderful experience. The bed is heavenly and the breakfast is delicious and plentiful... You will not walk away hungry. Thank you Charlotte for a wonderful stay.

A very nice B&B in a good location. Wonderful hosts who served an excellent breakfast. Afternoon tea and lemon squares were a special treat. And a parting gift of lemon squares was unexpected and greatly appreciated. We highly recommend this B&B.

Except for the front room location on a busy street, our stay was delightful and the gourmet breakfasts, beautifully served with elegance.

This is a fantastic B&B. Clean, comfortable rooms, hospitality at it's finest, three-course breakfasts that rival the finest restaurants. An experience not to be missed!

Nice quiet Inn where you can relax, read a book, get some sleep. Breakfast is wonderful, and innkeepers friendly, helpful. Minor complaint, there is a bit of road noise but you need to expect this since you are so close to town and the main road. The room we stayed in had a jacuzzi tub and we were able to enjoy that and be warm. The room was on the chilly side. Would recommend this to others and stay there again.

this was the best place we stayed in during a three week tour of New England, and perhaps from Old England. Comfortable, welcoming, wonderful food- nothing else needed!

This was a great place. very comfortable, hospitable hosts, excellent breakfasts. lots of attention to details (was spotlessly clean), and over-the-top willingness to recommend day trips, wake reservations, etc.
