I had friends who recommended the Lavender Mermaid Farm B&B on my weekend visit to Pittsburg. Michelle, one of the innkeepers met me at my private cottage. It was more than I could ever have imagined. The king size pillow top bed, fine linens and towels, handmade lotions and toiletries, were only topped the next morning, when my breakfast was delivered to my door. I opened the retro metal box to find the most luscious goodies, all homemade by Michelle. A fresh fruit parfait, honey yogurt, and granola, warm blueberry scones wrapped in a towel, served with lavender peach jam. Orange juice, and a potato crusted quiche with prosciutto, Italian cheeses and herbs from the garden. In the evening just looking at the beautiful moon and stars, what else could I want. Well, a fresh new homemade breakfast will arrive when I awake from my wonderful dream..

This was just "what the doctor ordered" when it comes to unplugging and having a peaceful night away out of the city. The Bluebonnet Cottage was tastefully decorated in soothing cool colors and the atmosphere was quiet and, refreshing. We had heard about this place from family and friends for several years. I'm glad we finally had the opportunity to try it out. We will definitely keep this B & B on our list of "go to" places when we visit East Texas. It is less than 2 miles away from the lovely Los Pinos winery where we dined with family and friends. Thumbs up to Ms. Smith for her gracious, warm hospitality. We'll be seeing you again.

1 night is not enough! Went to the Wine in the Pines event nearby, checked-in at our B&B. We were greeted with a warm welcome and a tour, and showed to our cottage. It has all you need from wonderful lavender soap to truffles by the bedside table, private porch overlooking the woods, after a wonderful dinner at the nearby Los Pinos Winery for dinner and wine tasting we rested comfortably for night in our cozy cottage. A wonderfully warm and perfect breakfast was delivered to our door with all you could want for and more. Special little personal notes from the Inn Keeper for our Anniversary gave us that extra special attention. As we sat on the porch breathing in the nature and relaxation we wished we would have booked it for 2 nights. Next time we will. This is a great get away in the country but close enough to still have fun. We will definately be back.

A friend and I stayed at the Lavender Mermaid one weekend while attending a wedding in the area, and the inn-keeper (Michelle Smith) did everything imaginable to make our stay a pleasant one. The room was comfortable and very clean, and the bathroom was outfitted with plenty of soft towels and comfy robes. The decorations were in keeping with the Lavender-theme (as were the cute, all-natural toiletries in the bathroom). Breakfast was delivered each morning in a little vintage cooler, and it was always a delight to open it and see what tasty things were on the menu for that day (her quiche is delicious)! All in all, a wonderful stay and an outstanding inn-keeper!

Our stay was absolutely wonderful! It is quite obvious the innkeepers put their heart and soul into providing their guest with everything they need for a perfect stay. The breakfast alone is enough to make me want to come back especially the baked French toast!! It will live in the memory of my taste buds for a very long time! The setting is beautiful and abounding with birds and deer. The accommodations were immaculate and decorated with great taste. My stay was perfect and I highly recommend this bed and breakfast to all!
