    The Main Bed & Breakfast Inn, located in Palacios, Texas. Established in 1999, innkeepers Nick and Kathy Nichols have been hosting the best guests in south Texas. Just two blocks from Tres Palacios Bay, you and your family can enjoy biking, birding, kayaking, and plenty of relaxing. Seven rooms are available including bungalows with kitchens, and a new suite overlooking our vegetable garden. Full vegetarian breakfast served. Sailing on the Bay may be arranged. We look forward to hosting your stay!

    A Gold Mine

    We had not a clue that this would be one of our best experience with a B&B! The bungalow was ready, in fact we were able to check in 2 plus hours a head of schedule. Facts about our bungalow were explained as well as points of interest within the city. The supplies for the kitchen were very acceptable and extremely clean. The breakfasts were actually more than outstanding, they were healthy, proper portions, and the Innkeepers took time to visit with the guest at every meal. The value was this B & B is so much more than a motel in every way. It was a grand experience and one we will look forward to repeating in the future.

    Relacing place to just get away for a day or two...

    We stayed at the Main Inn overnight and were pleasantly surprised to find such gracious, accommodating hosts. The atmosphere is relaxed and easy, and the breakfast of pear and ginger pancakes was delicious! We stayed in Peachy, and a cat that looked a little "peachy" tried to share the bed with us, but grudgingly left when we insisted. The grounds are lovely, the conversation interesting, and the experience was one we will definitely repeat.

    Must Visit!!!

    My wife and I have been staying at the Main Inn in Palacios, TX for years and it impresses every time. The main house is registered as a historic landmark and is kept in beautiful condition. The bungalows and apartments on the rest of the grounds are great for a weekend getaway or a long-term stay. Nick and Kathy are the most interesting and well-traveled inn-keepers you'll find. Whether it's stories about sailing around the world, playing some guitar or eating the 5-star breakfast, you'll be amazed at how much you enjoy the Main Inn!

    One of My Favorite Places in the World!

    My husband and I have been staying at the Main Inn several times a year for as long as Nick and Kathy have been open (11 years). Obviously, we love it, and our hosts. Palacios is a quiet place to “get away from it all”, and the Main Inn is the perfect setting for relaxing. We have stayed in almost all of the rooms and find them each charming in their own way. Many interesting conversations have been had while enjoying wine and music on Friday evenings in the Bistro, and we have met some delightful guests over Kathy's wonderful breakfasts. The Main Inn seems to attract unique, intriguing people. The Inn Cats are inviting but not pushy. Overall, I cannot say enough good things about the Main Inn, and Nick and Kathy. Go see for yourself!
