Great location just minutes from the center of Tulum, located in a quiet and lovely neighborhood, beautiful beach across the street, and a Cenote a block away. Beautiful new house, nice separation of guest quarters from residence. Delicious breakfast served on the patio overlooking the yard and mangroves, providing a wildlife show each morning of birds and a fox! Very comfortable rooms, nice pool and the view from the roof was fantastic. Highly recommend.
We stayed at Casa Jacqueline for a week, which went by way too fast. Each day began with new and delectable breakfast items. There was enough food to keep us going for hours. The breakfast was served to us on the back patio which was caressed by light breezes. It was hard to push away from the table and leave the B&B to explore the near-by activities. The bedrooms are large, each has an inviting private seating area, as well as a private balcony. We stayed on the second floor and appreciated the sound of the water and waves as we fell asleep. The roof-top area has a hot tub and a seating area where one can look at the Caribbean or the sunset. As others have said, there is plenty to do near-by and in Tulum. One day we went to Tulum Beach and had a lovely afternoon eating at Ziggy's and walking the beach. We were with another couple and one person went snorkeling and saw large schools of tropical fish. Tulum is a town not overrun with tourists. It is what I think of as authentic Mexico. And Casa Jacqueline is the perfect B&B from which to explore it all.
I visited Casa de Las Olas from October 18-25, 2013...my first time in Tulum. I plan on returning to this property in 2014...a marvelous piece of heaven, and an awesome staff. I travelled solo picking up a rental car in Cancun, and making the drive down. Although I would advise anyone attempting to do this to really look into an automatic car, because downshifting upon all the speed bumps (topes) is kind of a pain. Don't bother with a GPS, everything is easy to find, and Sam will supply you with a map to all the hot spots. Sam, Jimmy, Mari, Antonio...are an excellent and attending group of folks who made my visit very personal. I had an ocean front suite which was perfect. Don't over pack...daily wear is quite casual and you live in a swim suit. The beach is immaculate thanks to Antonio. There was a small kitchen in my suite, and groceries are available a few minues from the property.Everything is in the metric system..so look that over before you drive or shop for groceries. There was some rain the last two days of my stay, but it's so warm..who cares? I would recommend this property to anyone..it's remote, private, ultra clean and very well run. This would not be a place for kids...and that's why I like it! Jimmy is an excellent host, and Sam made my stay extra special. Every experience I had with the both of them was so memorable, and shopping in town was a great experience...it would help to have some of the language down, which I intend to do before I return. Most folks I encountered had a bit of English, and if they didn't, hand gestures and smiles went a long way. Thanks to everyone at Casa for making my trip a healing experience and a special time for me. Don't miss the ruins in COBA, A Mayan Clay Massage, and the chance to eat all the Cerviche ( El Camillos in town) you can! :)
At Casa Jacqueline breakfast was served according to our preferences. The hearty portions held us over easily until our next meal. Local fruit, freshly squeezed juice, coffee, pancakes, waffles, eggs and bacon were served with a smile and a cheerful "good-morning." The location of this B & B is perfect. It's close to town; just 5 to 10 minutes by car, but away from noise of the city. Ive stayed at all-inclusive resorts in Cancun, but this is a far superior experience. Casa Jacqueline has two suites, so you and another couple can have the place to yourselves if you wish. If you are traveling with more than two couples, ask Jacqueline to recommend accommodations for the others in your party. There are several B&B's within walking distance and some inns as well. The suites are clean and bright. Cushy bathrobes, soft towels and high quality bedding made for a pampered stay. The spacious two-level room includes two small couches, a king-size bed, lots of pillows, ceiling fans, ac, a small fridge and speakers for music. There is a patio on the 1st floor. We stayed on the second floor, and could watch the occasional car go by from the balcony. There is plenty of closet space, and safes are included for valuables. The decor is a combination of traditional Mexican style and fun, whimsical design, including star-shaped lamps and traditional wood furnishings. The walls are painted in deep, intense colors that fit in perfectly with the overall mood. Everything is solidly built, with ceramic tile on all floor surfaces and in the bathroom. The pool is kept at the perfect temp for relaxing before or after a day in town. On the roof, we soaked away our aches in the hot tub/jacuzzi. The view from the roof has to be seen! The aqua ocean across the road is breathtaking. Further down the road is a cenote where we snorkeled, seeing blue crabs and hundreds of fish. I've stayed at Casa Jacqueline twice. I can't imagine staying anywhere else.
We recently stayed a week at Casa Jacqueline in Tankah (10 mins from Tulum). Our stay was just wonderful. The rooms were charming and clean. Our hosts were warm and gratious and always helpful with information about the many wonderful diversions around. Wonderful beaches, restaurants, snorkeling etc. Speaking of food, Jacqueline really knows how to cook. Deliciuos! Our rooms were just accross the street from the ocean. The smell and the breeze were intoxicating. Especially when on the roof at night. Oh...the stars. Highly recommended TT
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa Dolce Vita. We were thrilled with the beautiful location right on the Caribbean beach as well as the lovely pool and tropical gardens. We were never more than a few steps away from the beach or without a magnificent ocean view, even during breakfasts. Chris and Connie were very gracious hosts preparing the most wonderful breakfasts and anticipating our every need during our entire stay. They get it just right, being available whenever needed, yet always respecting our privacy. The Soliman Bay area is beautiful and very serene making for a very relaxing stay. Yet, the towns of Tulum and Akumal are close enough that we never lacked for interesting places to visit or things to do and there is a great variety of good restaurants in the area. We were sad to leave, but hope to return for another visit!
We loved Villa Dolce Vita! It is beautiful, clean and a fantastic location! There is so much to do that is so close by and you can kayak, snorkel or swim right from the Inn. Plus, Chris makes the most fabulous breakfasts!!! We will definitely go back!
Outstanding! We couldn't have been happier with our stay at Villa Dolce Vita. The setting right on the Caribbean beach is absolutely gorgeous. The photos on the internet really do not do it justice. Everything about the property is immaculate ---- our room, the beautiful tropical gardens, the crystal clear pool, even their raked beach. Soliman Bay is perfect for snorkeling, swimming and kayaking as it is protected from large ocean swells by a reef and what a delight it was to relax in the beach hammocks with a cold drink right by the water's edge. The rooms were very comfortable and nicely decorated. (I sometimes have back problems and was appreciative of the memory foam topped mattresses. Apparently we were one of the first guests to try these out. A+) The breakfasts were a real treat. At home we usually do not have much for breakfast, but we found ourselves looking forward to their breakfasts each morning ........ the food is truly gourmet quality, beautifully presented and with such variety. Add the beautiful table settings and the view of the Caribbean while you are eating, and you really have something memorable. The hosts/owners Chris and Connie made our stay truly special. They are personable and helpful, yet never over-bearing. They gave us wonderful advice as to where to find romantic little places to dine and to walk unspoiled beaches (beaches both right there on Soliman Bay and nearby). I almost forgot to mention the totally romantic evenings..........slipping out of our room onto the beach with a bottle of wine to listen to the ocean sounds and gaze up at the stars. In every way it was just the vacation that we were hoping for to rekindle romance. We'll be back!
