Prince Solms Inn is run by one of the most pleasant and accommodating people I have encountered. Al was polite, friendly and gave a tour of the Inn upon our arrival even though we were late. There is a quaint and enjoyable jazz bar in the basement, a patio to enjoy and the room we stayed in was kid friendly. The only downside to our stay was being in a room adjacent to the patio where smokers from the jazz bar came to. Other than that, I would definitely come back to stay.

We were welcomed very warm in the beautiful historic main building. We 've got the Texas Cottage which is very spacious and fully equipped. The big king size bed was very comfortable. The hotel is in a great location. Just minutes from Downtown New Braunfels, restaurants, tube rental stations and a just 10-minutes drive to the beautiful historic city Gruene. The breakfast was delicious (eggs, jam, bun, bacon, coffee, juice). The jazz bar in the basement of the hotel opened in the evening. But not to hear in the Cottages. We had a great time there.

Al, the innkeeper, runs a fantastic B&B a block from the Comal River, Schlitterbahn, and downtown NB. Quaint and historical (and maybe haunted!), this is a great place to stay with a great breakfast every morning.

This is a great little hotel in a great location. Nothing we wanted (Schlitterbahn, Gruene, Downtown New Braunfels, local restaurants, even a pharmacy) was ever more than about 10 minutes away, and most of it was much closer than that. The hotel has a charming antique feel to it, but our room was quite large with both bedroom and parlor area (Sophie's Suite). There is a quaint courtyard with lots of outdoor space for sitting and enjoying yourself. Breakfast was delicious every morning. There is a jazz bar in the basement of the hotel, but this was never an issue for us as far as noise. My two biggest complaints would be the location of the room. Sophie's suite is literally right by the front door, stairs, and office; meaning there was little to no privacy. We could hear everything that was being said in the hall/front office, and I am sure they could hear us as well. The good news is there are other rooms with more privacy if this is what you want. Also, the curtains in our bedroom area could stand to be washed as they were quite covered in dust. Other than that, the hotel and grounds were vey well kept and we could not have been happier with our decision.

The staff was so accommodating and very friendly. The breakfast was good. The location of the B&B was perfect for a floating experience with friends, as well as proximity to Gruene Hall and downtown shops.

I would have rated some of these options such as service as outstanding but it would not let me click it. We had a few normal issues such as a clogged toilet during our stay and they were promptly fixed. Everyone there was courteous, friendly and I would stay there again any time. This is our second stay at this inn and we love the courtyard area the most!
The Magnolia is the signature flower of the Old South, and this room has all the charm and gentility reminiscent of those days long past. This room is located on the second floor on the courtyard side of the building. The queen-sized bed adds to the softness of this alluring, green room, which also comes with cable TV, an iron/ironing board and a full private bath with tub/shower.
This majestic suite is named for the prince's beautiful German fiancée, Sophie. This room has been a favorite with many guests, and has also acquired a reputation that precedes it. Although the owners have never encountered anything out of the ordinary, many of our guests have claimed that a mysterious female apparition haunts Sophie's Suite. We welcome you to come and stay here, and perhaps see something for yourself. This suite includes a king size bed in the bedroom, full private bath with tub/shower, living room, cable TV, iron/ironing board and a small area with a refrigerator, microwave, and sink.
This room is named for Jessie Chisholm of Chisholm Trail fame. Jessie Chisholm and many other trail drivers passed in front of the Prince Solms Inn as they moved their herds up north. Back then, the street in front of the Feed Store was part of the Old Chisholm Trail and is now San Antonio St. The Chisholm room is located, next to the main building, in the adjacent building called the Feed Store. This room recalls the Old West with hardwood floors and rustic decorations. It has a private bath with shower, king size bed made in Mexico and one double bed in the crawling loft (four feet tall) for small children. This room also has cable TV, telephone, a small refrigerator, coffee maker and iron/ironing board.
This room is named for the beautiful roses that adorn the walls. The Rose Room is located on the second floor on the courtyard side of the building. This elegant room features a nice queen-size bed, cable TV, iron/ironing board and a full private bath with an antique, freestanding bathtub and shower. In addition, the Rose Room connects to the Library Room.
This private, newly-renovated suite blends modern amenities with a touch of rustic charm. it features a king-sized bed with sleep number mattress; jacuzzi tub; kitchenette with sink microwave, and refrigerator; widescreen LCD television; two private entrances; and full-sized sleeper sofa (a roll-away bed is also available, if needed). It is ideal for couples, families and groups that want to enjoy the mystique of staying in a historic inn, while still having all the comfort and privacy of home.
This room invites you to snuggle up with a good book! The theme in this room is one of classical appeal. The Library Room is located on the second floor on the courtyard side of the building. It has a king size bed, cable TV, iron/ironing board and features a full private bath with tub/shower. In addition, the Library Room connects to the Rose Room.
