My son and his lovely bride were married at the Blackwell Hotel on October 25, 2014. Both the accommodations and the wedding were "world-class!" Liz and Abby were not only very professional but also very personable. The accommodations were very clean (thanks to the hotel staff...so sorry as I forgot the two ladies names who prepared the rooms) and aesthetically pleasing. The wedding planner (Abby) was superb! Her ability to move things along during rehearsal and the main event were spectacular! Her leadership style enabled her to gain the attention of her clients in order to complete the task(s) at hand. My son who lives in Portugal was unable to attend the wedding and therefore, had to Skype-in to view the wedding. When the wedding began, the internet disconnected. Abby realized this and immediately went into action and re-established the connection and my son was able to watch his brother get married! Outstanding attention-to-detail! Liz was fabulous with the food preparation and would drop what she was doing to assist everyone and anyone! I would rate this experience a 10-star due to the flawless wedding event but this site will not allow it! Therefore, 5 stars! Rob (father of the groom)
This was my husband and I's first trip to a bed and breakfast. We loved everything about it! The room was very comfortable and quiet. The bed was much nicer and more comfortable than our bed at home. The breakfast was delicious. We enjoyed the yard, fireplaces on the main floor, and the shuffleboard downstairs. It was also so nice to be so close to downtown. We enjoyed hiking nearby and the shopping and restaurants that we could so easily walk to.
Apon arriving we received a friendly welcome from our host, who then showed us around the B&B and brought us up to our room. He also offered us refreshments once we were settled in; advised us about dining options, and sites to see. The room was was quiet and very comfortable. For breakfast we were offered a variety of options and the food was plentiful and well prepared. All in all we enjoyed a very pleasant stay.
My husband and I enjoyed a wonderful 3 day stay at IdaHome over the Labor Day weekend. The house is gorgeous and the gardens and woods surrounding the property were quiet and peaceful. Al and Maureen were welcoming and gracious hosts. Maureen prepared excellent breakfasts everyday and easily accommodated our gluten-free diets. We would have stayed longer if only we could!
Our stay at Ida-Home B&B was excellent. The clean and roomy accommodations, delicious Breakfasts, amenities and peaceful surroundings enhanced our vacation experirence. Maureen and Al were very knowlegeable of sights, tours and driving directions for Spokane, Post Falls and Coeur d` Alene. They added personal touches to our stay that will be long remembered. We will stay with them again!
We enjoyed a 4 night stay and for the most part were very pleased. Although the final night we finally had some neighbors on our floor and discovered that the walls are paper thin. But for the most part it was an enjoyable stay.
We found Idahome B&B on a last minute trip to the Spokane area. It was lovely! Quiet, yet easy to find - our room had a very peaceful patio where we could sit out of the Summer heat and enjoy the views of the nearby woods. Idahome's hosts were very friendly, gave us clear instructions on how to get to the house, welcomed us warmly and oh we had such a fun breakfast - chatting with other guests and enjoying an huge multi course breakfast. Yum! And of course having AC was such a wonderful thing in summer!
We had a great stay at the Roosevelt Inn. The owners were charming, personable, and full of interesting information - while the Golden Retriever was the best-trained, most pleasant dog we had met in years! The rooms were clean and comfortable and the food was terrific. We'll definitely stay again next time we are in the area.
We stayed at IdaHome Bed and Breakfast on our most recent trip out west at the end of August, 2014. I can say I was pleasantly surprised when we arrived. It was off the beaten path, a secluded house set in the woods, with no noise, a charming bedroom with a private bath, patio off our bedroom and refreshments in our room. We enjoyed a little snack on the patio with a drink and watched the deer off in the woods. It's the first time in my life that I saw a porcupine in the wild when I awoke the next morning and looked out my window. Maureen served up the most delicious breakfast as we visited with other guests. It's the first time my husband has every stayed at a B & B and he was a little hesitant. After he stayed at IdaHome, he was a convert. We stayed at some unique places on our trip but I have to say our nicest room was here. For the price, you can't get the amenities that we received at IdaHome at a hotel. First class. Thank you so much Al and Maureen. We will stay here again in a minute next time we are out this way. Close to downtown and the lake. A short drive to silverwood. A great area just to walk around in. John and Tina were terrific hosts. Would definitely go again. Maybe even yearly!
A lovely, inviting Bed and Breakfast; within walking distance of the downtown area. Grounds surrounding this charming schoolhouse (now renovated) is marvelous. Would stay at Roosevelt Inn again.
We rented the Blackwell for 4 1/2 days the week of our son's wedding. It became home base for family staying in nearby hotels and the immediate family from out of town stayed in the Blackwell. Liz and Abby are so accommodating to all your needs! We had the rehearsal dinner on the main floor for 50 people which was amazing (also thanks to Satay Catering). The grounds are gorgeous and great for hanging out in nice weather. We even had a brunch the day after the wedding. Not one complaint from anybody!! Thank you all for ever lasting memories!!!
My husband and I spent two days with Idahome B n B and we were extremely happy. The rooms were large and spacious, the sheets were outstanding and we enjoyed ourselves immensely. The food was delicious! The hosts are friendly and go out of their way to make your stay the best it can be! We intend on returning as soon as possible! If you're looking for wildlife at all, sit on the deck and just enjoy. We saw a wild bunny, a couple turkeys and a deer, all from the deck.

Chris & Larry were fantastic hosts...we wanted to get some us time in as well business...wow what a surprise Chris was non stop in making sure all our needs were met! She is a fantastic cook! We left with our bellies and spirts full. Her place is amazing...state park on one side of her property...river 65 yards from the house and we even caught some nice trout for dinner...this place is peaceful and tranquil...we left rejuevinated and made some fantastic friends...we haven't stopped talking about it to friends and family and will definitely return...this gem of a place is to fantastic to keep secret ! Nelson and I thank this great couple for opening up their house and hearts to us
I absolutely loved my stay at Idahome. Maureen and Al were perfect and caring hosts, breakfast was delicious and tailored to my grain free needs, and we even enjoyed a mini jazz/gospel concert by one if the other guests. Maureen and Al made everyone feel special and so very welcome. Definitely will be back if I am in the area again!
Thoughtful and warm welcome. We were greeted by fresh flowers in the room and warm bread pudding with homemade caramel on top at check-in. Proprietors were extremely helpful with not only recommending, but booking reservations for activities and restaurants. The Roosevelt is within walking distance of the downtown shops and restaurants, lake Coeur d'Alene, beaches, and marina. Breakfast prepared by staff was outstanding and varied daily. Additional breakfast buffet available if preferred. To-go breakfasts were available upon request if your party planned to set out early. Evening wine and beer receptions took place every evening. Warm cookies and coffee available also. Rooms were quiet and well air conditioned. 24 hr. hot tub was great. Convenient parking, easy access to ice machine, and great wi-fi service (free) made the stay even better. The Vrabel Family.
This was my first time staying at a B & B and thanks to Al and Maureen it won't be my last. I loved the quiet cozy country feel of their place and all the beautiful flowers that surround the deck, where they served us a wonderful breakfast!! Our room and bathroom was clean comfortable... it was a hot summer day and when we arrived Maureen brought cold drinks to our room. After visiting with us Maureen also printed off directions from her computer to our next stops. Can't wait to go back!! Thank you to the best hosts ever!! :)
Spokane is a nice place to visit and Phyllis helped our stay to be a good one. We were traveling across the country and picked this home for our last night on the road. The home is very old, but pretty well kept up. Breakfast was filling, but not extraordinary. The other guests were friendly and we had a nice stay.
Great place to stay! The rooms are charming, but not half as charming as the host. Liz made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped in the door. She gave us great tips on how to enjoy the neighborhood and an absolutely wonderful breakfast. I would definitely stay here again. If you need two beds, as my son and I did, ask for room #5.
This B & B has to be one of the best in the country, In fact we would say it is the best. The décor in the Inn was top of the line. Many antiques and very warm and friendly atmosphere. Al and Maureen are very special people. They bent over backwards to take care of my wife's needs. She is legally blind and has many dietary restrictions and they met them all. Thank you, Thank you both. Our only regret with this B & B was that we did not stay long enough to enjoy everything that was available to us. We would definitely recommend this B & B to others and next time in the area we will absolutely stay here. Bob and Elfrieda
A quiet, peaceful woodland experience. One feels almost royal throughout the whole experience and yet able to relax as if at home. Tasteful decoration and attention to details. Delicious and artistic food. It was very delightful to have such pleasant company with our intuitive hosts. To sum it up, emphasis on comfort and relaxation: it's just right.
