This was my first bed and breakfast that I stayed at and it was a wonderful experience. The room was very clean, warm, and the wifi worked very well. Breakfast was amazing! I kept wishing I could have an unlimited portion, but I digress. The bathroom was immaculate and very comfortable. The water was hot and it was very nice after a long day out. Even though the manor is not "right off the water" the drive into town was less than 10 minutes and right off the freeway. But being a little ways out of town made one afternoon extremely relaxing as we hung out on the porch and listened to the birds, enjoyed the sunshine and the constant flow of water from a tiny pond. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs a weekend away.
We really enjoyed our overnight at the Dove Nest. I can't stress enough how clean and comfortable the room was. Breakfast was delicious and the presentation was beautiful. Jitka was a wonderful conversationalist. We only wish we could have stayed longer.
Decided to do a weekend getaway and chose South Haven. When I saw the pictures of Monroe Manor, I knew it was the one! From start to finish, everything about it was amazing! The pictures don't do it justice. The inn keeper was a eye sparkling, cheerful woman who was always available to help. The Arbor room was perfect and the bed ....let's say it was hard to get out of it because it was so comfortable! Visits to town to eat, the beach, the KalHaven trail, the movies....wonderful! Everything about this weekend allowed serious R&R. We will definitely be returning!
We stayed two nights at Manroe Manor. We were greeted and treated warmly, like family. The only issue was that the power in half our room kept going out, so we had to constantly go down and alert the inn keeper. It was colder when we went and we needed to use the fireplace, but that seemed to shut the power down. The food was great, location was great too!
We stayed at serendipity for our anniversary. Our hosts were very pleasant and fun to chat with. Everything was clean and comfy. The tvs are small and only have vcrs. They have quite a few vhs tapes to choose from. There is a hot tub and sauna. The rooms are all pretty small but still very nice. The breakfast was delicious! Heart shaped waffles and fresh fruit and a ton of bacon! We would gladly stay here again!
My boyfriend and I have come here the last few years for Valentine's Day. We always feel so welcomed by Marcia. Her and her husband do an absolutely wonderful job at making you feel like you're at home away from home. A+ ! Thank you so much for such great hospitality and I look forward to seeing you next Valentine's Day!
We stayed here for our anniversary. The rooms in the house are small, but very comfortable. The beds and linens and pillows were comfy, clean and very attractive. The tvs were small but sufficient. We were in want of nothing. The hosts were very nice and helpful and fun to chat with. The food was delicious and the quantities were plentiful. The home made biscotti was amazing. We were provided with pamphlets of the businesses and attractions in the area. They definitely aim to please, and pleased we were!
beautiful B&B on gorgeous property. Hosts Jitka and John were so warm and informative about the area and many other topics, Both were very interesting people and enjoyable to converse with. Food was also very good, and made sure to cater to my fuss budget hubby by preparing something different he would eat, Looking forward to going again.
We decided on an overnight stay in Saugatuck at the last minute and were able to stay in the Lightkeeper's Cottage. The accommodations were perfect for two, the breakfast was excellent and the private hot tub was awesome. David was helpful in recommending local restaurants also.
We stayed in the Ashley Room at DeLano Mansion Inn. It was absolutely beautiful. We came from Indiana where skiing is less to be desired and also much more expensive then at the slopes of Michigan (which have great two-for-one deals or men or women's day during the week). We were able to stay a weeknight here and ski for two days at Bittersweet Ski Resort at a great value. Homemade breakfast was absolutely decadent and every detail was accounted for from DVD selection to snacks and drinks and general warmth of the whole house. Thank you!
Absolutely a wonderful place to stay!! Only stayed one night but enjoyed the whole experience. Owners are very friendly. First Bed-N-Breakfast experience and it was a great one. Small, homey feeling. Short walk to downtown and the beach. Will definitely be going back to stay again.
We stayed at the DeLano Mansion during an ice storm in December. Marcia, the hostess made our stay as enjoyable as it good be. Due to the horrible weather, most of the local establishments were closed. We did find a nearby Pub and ordered food to go and was able to enjoy it in our awesome room all nice and cozy. The bed was very comfortable. I loved the look and feel of the entire mansion. If you want to get a little feel of what it was like to live in a home like this during the 1800's (which I do enjoy) then this is the place! We will be back this time in the summer. A Carducci
This was our first time staying at a B&B and our stay exceeded our expections! The DeLano Mansion is a true beautiful Victorian, very warm and inviting. Marcia is the best hostess, from her wonderful breakfasts, to the knowledge of the area, and a great person to talk to! She offered a special stay 3 nights/ pay for only 2. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable. THere is so much to see and do in the surrounding area, all within a half hour drive. We will definitely return and strongly recommend it to anyone wanting to get away for a few days of relaxing!
Four of us gals decided to do a wine tasting tour and overnight in Saugatuck. We loved our time at Serendipity! We rented all 3 rooms at the B&B itself and had the house to ourselves. This worked out great since 2 rooms had a shared bath and all the rooms are small: having them rented to people who knew one another was great. It would be kind of weird to have strangers stay along with you. The innkeeper, David, was very nice and breakfast was filling and lovely. We will be back!
My wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary in this lovely Bed and Breakfast. The Royal Oak Room was very private with great views of the property. The room was immaculate. The woodwork was perfect. Jitka and John took special care to buy flowers for our room, and both did a fantastic job with breakfast. Definitely a place my wife and I would stay at again.
Lovely stay in the Library Suite, perfect for our four ladies catching up, lots of room to hang out and chat, clean, cozy and comfortable. Our breakfasts were delivered to our door, and absolutely delicious! Thanks, Dave and June for a wonderful stay!
Dove Nest B&B has a relaxed country charm. The location is convenient to different attractions and the landscaped property gives a private secluded feeling. Jitka is a gracious hostess and a wonderful cook. The breakfasts are generous and delicious. Our room, the Pond View, was large, nicely decorated, and very quiet. All in all, a beautiful B&B in which we thoroughly enjoyed our visit!
The DeLano Mansion is centrally located for ease of access to Holland, Saugatuck, South Haven and Kalamazoo. My Wife and I enjoyed our little "Get Away". Marcia is a wonderful hostess and Inn Keeper, and Her Breakfast's were ample and most tasty. The Inn has everything one could need. Much better than some chain hotel.
The inn keepers were very friendly and gracious. Our room was clean and what we expected. The food was fabulous! The grounds were well kept and inviting. Overall a wonderful experience!
