  • Your view as you approach the main house on live oak allee.
    Guests are encouraged to use our private dock for kayaking, fishing, boating, and direct access to the beautiful Black River.
    The North Guesthouse was built circa 1930 for friends and family of the Parker's staying overnight.
    The winnowing barn is the only remaining structure like this in the area. It was used to separate the rice grain from the hull.
    Guests can relax on hundreds of private acres, or explore the many unique areas on the plantation grounds.
    Mansfield Plantation is located on the banks of the Black River, with a private dock and canal access to the river. Grand cypress trees like the one above adorn the property.

    Newly renovated! This antebellum rice plantation, located on the beautiful Black River, is regarded as one of the most intact rice plantations of its era. It was used for the filming of the movie "The Patriot". With over 900 acres of forests, swamps, and open fields, Mansfield is a haven for wildlife of all kinds. The "street" approaching the Manor house is lined with magnificent Live Oaks. Beyond these is a village of original slave cabins, a church and the slave school house. The Manor house itself, though understated on the outside, has exquisite details of period architecture on the inside. A small boat ramp is available for water sports and fishing. Hiking/biking trails abound, and a fleet of bicycles makes exploring fun. Pets are welcome!

    Wonderful

    What a plantation and a great place to stay especially with our dogs. This was our third visit and so enjoyed our stay. Walking the grounds would take me back to Scarlett's time. Kathryn was a perfect host and her breakfasts were equally good. We will return for sure. Georgetown is a quaint coastal town.

    Wow - Mansfield is One of a Kind

    We have been a few times - Mansfield is a remarkable place. Every time we go back, the owners seem to have taken on a new historic renovation project, but somehow it still feel like you're enjoying the Lowcountry some 200 years ago. The breakfast alone—including in your room rate—is reason enough to come. It's not every day that you get to eat breakfast in a huge plantation dining room that was used to entertain guests since before the Civil War. If you've never been, GO. There aren't too many places like this in the USA.

    Wonderful Experience

    We enjoyed the ambiance created in the lovely setting. The accommodations were superior as was the food. Kathy was the highlight of our stay. What a lovely innkeeper. She made our stay perfect.

    Top-notch Southern plantation experience

    I have stayed at this amazing B&B several times,and each experience has been wonderful. The property itself is magnificent, tasteful decor, gracious Southern hospitality, gourmet breakfasts (in formal dining room w/sterling silver)--even dogs are allowed in some of the guest rooms. I can't recommend this property highly enough; it is one of my favorites anywhere!
