This was my first B&B experience and it has set the bar for me. Not only were Anna and Vick wonderful and engaging but their attention to every detail of our stay was over the top. The bread pudding delivered to our room at 9:30 pm was over the top. I had no idea Bed and Breakfasts were like this!!!
Pigeon Creek Inn offers a wonderful get away from the fast pace of life. The Inn is a newer structure built in the middle of 35 acres of woods and all you hear and see is beautiful nature. We stayed in the Summer Suite in the lower level. It was well appointed, clean, quiet, comfortable and dark at night making for a great nights sleep. The large bathroom offered an oversized shower with a cool light show. The innkeeper is friendly/laid back and offers lots of information about the area. The very large screened porch was a relaxing place to have coffee and the yummy breakfast served each morning.
The location was perfect for walking out the door for a stroll through Saugatuck! Very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Wish we could've stayed longer.
Nine of us stayed at Serendipity over the past weekend in various rooms and suites- it was outstanding, especially the breakfasts whether you ate them in the dining room or they were delivered to your suite. A wonderful location with off street parking and genial and informative hosts. A great find in Saugatuck!
The Library room is perfect space for a small group or family. The two bedrooms are perfectly sized for two adults. There is a living room for indoor conversation and a porch for "indoor/outdoor" conversation. There is a spacious private bath for the suite. The breakfast basket was lovely. David was very kind. The proximity to the water and main shopping/dining area is perfect. I highly recommend the Library Room at Serendipity. I am aware that the rooms in the main house share a bathroom - so inquire about that if this is important to you. It is important to me and I won't stay at a B&B with shared bathroom space. However, the Library Suite was absolutely perfect.
Just a fantastic beautiful place. I had only one issue, I had paid extra for a picnic basket and the cookies provided we burnt and the innkeeper didn't seem especially concerned about it. The fact was those should've never made it into the basket. However the basket and contents were very nice. Our overall experience was wonderful and besides that one concern, the innkeeper and staff were great and friendly.
My wife and I stayed at Pigeon Creek Inn for a long 4th of July weekend. I spoke to Jack ahead of time to arrange to stay in the Birthday Suite our first night and the Honeymoon Suite the next 2 nights (which wasn't available for all 3 nights). He was very helpful and accommodating. The Inn itself is tucked away on this 35 acre wooded retreat. So there is a nice view of the woods and nature out your windows and not much else. We woke up each morning to a gourmet breakfast and a great coffee selection to choose from. Jack made something different to eat each day we were there and not a single dish disappointed in the least. Otherwise we were able to drive south to Holland and north to Grand Haven and enjoy some time at the beaches or shopping or whatever else. There are paved bike trails all over this area and so we made sure to take advantage of that as well as play some really great golf courses in the area. All in all - it was a memorable stay and we will return again!
Our stay at Castle in the Country was wonderfully more than expected. The innkeepers were pleasant and informative and definitely proud of their property. I was impressed with how fresh and immaculate the grounds were kept and how spotless the rooms were. I would go back just for Herb's breakfast and Ruth's warm smile. Jay Rifkind
Our stay with Vic and Anna offered a lovely reprieve from the busy lifestyle that we lead. I appreciated Anna's gift of hospitality and talent for fostering relationships. We experienced the wisdom and comraderie of the guests during our stay through insightful conversation....imagine breakfast taking an hour every day! As parents of three busy kids, it was very nice to feel served, whether it's coffee, tea, breakfast or dessert. We love this area and visit yearly and will definitely consider staying again with Vic and Anna.
I loved Castle in the Country. Beautiful nature views from the windows, romantic whirlpool rooms, delicious breakfasts. I also loved the screened in gazebo areas, fire pits. We took the trail to Emerson Lake and took the paddle boat out. I sat on the dock and gazed at the beautiful views. My only complaint is the price should be lowered, I think it's too high of a rate. I understand they are all about luxury and top of the line but it's more expensive than I want to pay.
Staying at Monroe manor was our first B&B experience, and we didn't really know what to expect. The house was a beautiful historic mansion, in a quiet and peaceful area. The hospitality and food was amazing! We would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a spectacular place to stay.
This is a lovely spot in one of the quaintest towns along Lake Michigan's shores. From the ease and friendliness of the check-in to the well-appointed, cozy rooms and excellent breakfasts, Marywood Manor is one of the best b&b experiences I've had. Great location, right in the heart of Saugatuk and just a block from the chain ferry - once parked in back of the b&b, we didn't have to use the car at all over the weekend. Jan and Gary, our hosts, were extremely kind, friendly and very knowledgeable about goings on around town and where to eat. Breakfasts always had a hot dish, strata, quiche etc., as well as full and plenty plates of pastries, bread, home-made granola, fruit; great coffee and wonderful array of teas - something for everyone, served out of the beautiful kitchen, with tables set up on the charming porch - to watch the world go by. Treats, including cake & fruit, available all day with an 'if it's out on the counters and edible, you can eat/drink it!' Rooms a good size for 2 people, with plenty of storage space; we were in the Old Harbor Suite which has the fabulous porch swing - good amenities, including small fridge, bottle opener, glasses, tv & fireplace (not that they were used on this visit). Bathroom small, but ensuite, private and spotlessly clean, with good water pressure! Our hosts also provided some bathroom basics: shower gel, shampoo, hand sanitizer. Lovely, tranquil garden complete with fountain and chairs, a wonderful place to relax with a bottle of wine after a hard day's hiking, shopping...Highly recommended and will definitely be coming back.
Our very first time at a bed and breakfast - loved it! Cheri and her staff were attentive to our needs but we always felt we had complete privacy. Our room was very nice, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Loved the robes and the homemade cocoa. Landscaping was very well done, lush and beautiful.
Everything about castle in the country is amazing!! The rooms, the staff, the grounds, the breakfast are all perfect!!. We have stayed here 3 times now (plus got married here) and already have 2 more trips booked.Very relaxing atmosphere, and the rooms are amazing, while the staff is always friendly and willing to give you great tips on places to go and eat. Top notch all the way around!!
Good location if you want to go to Saugatuck/Douglas area. Everything was simple but very clean. The breakfast was delicious every day and the hosts were a delight. If I go back to the area I will stay there again.
We had 4 night stay with Anna and Vic, including a catered garden luncheon for 30+ family and friends over July 4 weekend. It was a perfect weekend. As others have indicated, Anna and Vic are gracious hosts with astute attention to detail. The home is immaculately restored, as are the furnishings. Genuine antiques are throughout the home. But the furnishings are also for using, not just looking at. Beds frames are upgraded from antique sizes to Queen. We hosted a family birthday party in the garden. The garden is easily large enough for a 20x30 tent, 8 tables. Vic gathered wireless speakers, video, microphone, etc for our event. Anna (and family/staff) also handled the food for our event and it was wonderfully presented. For our day at Holland Beach and Fireworks, they gathered beach chairs and blankets for the family to use. It is clear Anna and Vic love what they are doing. They like to get to know you and are focused on your needs during your stay. If not renting the entire home as we did, I would suggest opting for either T¿HE BARON SUITE or DR. BAERT SUITE as they are cream of the crop within the home. They each have suite style bathrooms. But all rooms have their unique charm. If in the Holland/Zeeland area, I would definitely recommend a stay at this wonderful B&B
This was our first stay at a bed & breakfast, and the Delano Mansion Inn set a very high bar for any other B&B to meet. Pictures on the website, do not do it justice. The decor and furnishings are absolutely amazing throughout the inn. We felt like we stepped back in time to an era when charm & elegance was the norm. . Marcia, the innkeeper, and her husband Kent, could not have been more welcoming and gracious to us..Since we were unfamiliar to the area, the suggestions they offered for our day trip to Saugatuck proved very helpful. They made sure we were aware of all the amenities available to us, so that we felt right at home during our stay. Marcia provided some tasty cookies & candies in the common rooms, as well as coffee and soft drinks available in case we wanted a snack. In the evening we loved having coffee and relaxing on the front porch.. It was so peaceful. The bedrooms are beautiful and very romantic. In the morning, Marcia served us a delicious breakfast in the dining room, which was a perfect end to our impressive stay at the Delano. Thank you Marcia & Kent, for being such wonderful hosts.
What a perfect place to stay. We shared the Library suite with another couple and all 4 of us laughed, ate, drank, shopped, relaxed and enjoyed our annual visit in town. This was a 1st at serendipity and we will be back!!!!
We just returned from our July 4th holiday weekend aboard the Sea Suites. Let me start by saying that there are not enough stars on this review to express how wonderful the stay here is. Accommodations were top notch, breakfast was delightfully delicious, the views were impeckable, location to eating and shopping couldnt be better, the fireworks display was like no other but the best gift of all was owners Pete and Sally! They will be our friends forever, along with the others aboard that we had fun with, Jan and Paul, Aimee and Josh, Dixie and Ron. The best group of people I have ever met and we are all coming back next year. Visit Sea Suites and come home with a full heart and a damn good vacation!
