Tucked away in the woods and lake it was the perfect place to relax. Everything you could want was provided. Turner and Patti were extremely helpful with recommendations of places to see and restaurants in the area. Our room was very nice and comfortable with a great view of the lake. We highly recommend Canyon Road Inn
Very cosy and comfortable. Wonderful and gracious hosts. Perfect. Will be back and not soon enough. Wish we had two days there, but only one. No time to explore the trails there but did sit by the lake at bit. A place to slow down and take in the beauty. J&J
The Canyon Road Inn was everything we hoped it would be for our stay in Turtle Lake - and more! Whether you're a "local" just looking for a little getaway, or an out-of-towner looking for a nice place to stay with everything you need, easy access, and Northwoods peace as a bonus - this is it! Innkeepers Patti and Turner warmly welcomed us, giving us a quick tour of this beautiful and well equipped property, including the small guest-use kitchen area - a big plus for road warriors. We had a few items to store which needed to be kept cold, so the fridge came in handy for us. Our room (Northwoods) was beautiful, spotless, the bed was very comfortable, and came with a "loon serenade" - among other wildlife sights and sounds with our view of the lake. What more can you ask! Full breakfast each morning was artfully prepared and served in the dining room. (I'm still dreaming about that crunchy French toast...) We were in town for a family reunion and the Inn's location, minutes from Turtle Lake Park where it was held, was perfect. Turner and Patti are helpful with area attractions if you want or need it - or even just recommendations for a place for lunch or dinner - and also seem to know just when to fade into the background and let you enjoy the solitude. Outdoors, there are canoes, a paddleboat, a firepit with chairs, and trails to explore. My brother took one of the canoes out for about an hour paddle one evening, and we followed this with an impromptu gathering with other guests at the firepit (Turner provides the wood, but bring your own drinks.) Canyon Road Inn strikes a great balance - giving you the comfort of home along with the solitude of the woods. I'm sure we'll be back.
My wife & I loved our stay at Canyon Road Inn. Although just a short drive from the Twin Cities and not far from the main road, Canyon Road Inn feels very isolated from the craziness. It's beautiful peaceful setting on a small lake, trails and nature is amazing. The owners are wonderful, the breakfast was perfect and the rooms were spotless and quiet. We've already booked another weekend back at Canyon Road Inn.
Another wonderful stay at this off road retreat. Patti and Turner made us feel extremely welcome and went out of their way to cater for our early daily programme. The standard of breakfast on offer was second to none and we are extremely grateful for the warm welcome. Thank you! Colleen and Colin Stanley
This is a beautiful peaceful place in the middle of lots of things to do! We did take some time in the surrounding communities to eat our evening meals and shop, but spent most of our time back at the inn...reading on the deck, sitting in the shade, hiking on the groomed trails. Very nice host and hostess. Would definately stay here again.
Canyon Road Inn is wonderful! Beautiful location, lovely room and delicious breakfasts! The inn keepers, Patti & Turner, are so welcoming and made us feel "at home" with their warm hospitality. We are looking forward to returning! Joan & Alan
The Inn Keepers were very welcoming, and made us feel at home. There were a few personal touches that they did that were very nice. Bed was comfortable, room was clean and very well kept. It was pretty hot n humid, so we didn't take advantage of the grounds or the lake, but we will next time. We did play some cards in the game room. This would be a great place to go with a group of people. It is a very quiet location, yet close enough to civilization. My wife and I loved it and WILL return, maybe even become an annual thing. Highly recommended.
This is our 3rd time staying with Patti and Turner. What a joy to catch up each year. The breakfasts are incredible and we meet the greatest people who usually are there for there 2nd, 3rd.....visit. Comfy cozy and quiet. Den's get better.
We have been to Canyon Road Inn several times over the last few years and are always completely happy with everything. The Inn Keepers are so wonderful and helpful all the time. Great place to visit and relax at.
Fabulous stay in this stylish B&B. A comfortable and friendly place made all the more welcoming by the hosts Patti and Turner. Excellent room amenities and a wonderfully tasty breakfast made this a home from home. The lakeside wooded location gave a high level of tranquillity and solitude to escape the highway and town which was only a short distance away.
Wonderful experience all around! Breakfasts were fabulous, the innkeepers friendly, helpful and accommodating to special request. The room was great - plush towels, robes, little touches to welcome us. We will be back!
My wife and I enjoyed a wonderfully relaxing 2 night stay last week. The rooms are very roomy and comfortable - and very clean. The breakfast was delicious. The hosts were very pleasant and personable. We loved it.
My wife and I returned to this Bed and Breakfast for a visit to getaway for a while and enjoy the beauty and tranquility of the Canyon Road Inn setting. As always, Turner was the perfect host and provided us with a splendid weekend with the opportunity to hike the area around the lake and explore the snow covered scenery. It was cold, but the views and wildlife in the area made it exciting. The fireplace in the room added the cozy touch to warm by with a glass of wine to relax and unwind. Breakfast was spectacular with the most enjoyable flavors and hospitality imaginable. I stayed at many B&Bs across the country and this is by far the best I've encountered. Will definitely be back soon!
Very nice B&B clean, well maintained, modern but tastefully rustic. Much to offer onsite such as use fishing if you desire, campfire, canoes beautiful view of the lake and hiking trails. The owners are very welcoming and breakfasts were terrific. The only downside was the time of year conoes were not available and the fire ring was under water and local activities were minimal. Of course the owners no control over this however, given the nighly rate, I think off season rates would be more appropriate. All in all a nice place to stay.
We stayed one night, our room was beautiful. We walked through the woods for about 2 hours, very scenic. The service was great, food was great. This was our first time trying a bed and breakfast and we certainly enjoyed the atmosphere.
We stayed here after our wedding reception in the haven suite. The bed was beyond comfortable and the suite was newly updated and very nice. We had a delicious breakfast served by the hosts who were very personable and accommodating. There is even canoes and walking trails nearby, and we spent the morning exploring the trails before we checked out. Loved our stay and would highly recommend it!
Canyon Road Inn is tucked away on a rustic road. The grounds were beautiful. We walked every trail and spent some time in the gazebo by the lake. The lake is perfect for viewing wildlife and canoeing. The hosts Turner and Patti were very congenial and gave excellent recommendations for places to hike and visit in the area. This is a must stay place!
This was our first time at this BB. I booked it solely based on the reviews and serene pictures. This place did not disappoint. Everything was so clean. The sheets were amazing! The bed was like sleeping on a cloud (or what I envision sleeping in a cloud would be like), the robes...I did not want to get out of my robe. This was perfect for our honeymoon because we were able to do nothing. We took walks around the property. We went into town (which isnt much) and went to the thrift store and another store that had odds and ends. Turner is very knowledgeable about what is around and he had very good suggestions about places to visit. I cant wait to go back!! Next time I want to go when theres snow so we can cozy up in front of the fireplace. Oh, breakfast was DELICIOUS! and so was the coffee :)
My husband & I spent a wonderful three days at a top notch inn. You can tell both Patti & Turner are proud of the Canyon Road Inn & make your stay a memorable one! After viewing their website, which is very well done, we made reservations. The inn is located in Northern Wisconsin, & nestled in a wooded area. Nice to find in inn that is easy to find & well marked! We were greeted by Turner & met Patti the following day! These hosts are genuinely interested in their guests & happy to meet the needs of their guests. Rooms were immaculate, & it was wonderful having a Keurig coffee maker in your room! The breakfasts were sensational & were served family style at the table. So often inns serve large portions & it was a welcome change to serve yourself. Always plenty of food! Plenty of places to visit close by, & we highly recommend the Dancing Dragonfly Winery! Excellent wines. Plenty of hiking trails & canoes are available to paddle around the lake. Cranes, otters, geese, herons, & loons could be seen from our room. We had a simply marvelous stay! The only disappointment was that my husband is an avid cyclist & no cable was available to watch the Tour Dr France! Not a problem for me! Thank you for such a wonderful experience Patti & Turner! We had a chance to rest & relax. This inn is one of the top three on our list & we will be back!
We have stayed at Canyon Road many times on our anniversary. We're never disappointed. The natural setting gives it a beauty and peace that's not easily found other places. The amenities, food, and hosts are top shelf.
We spent one Saturday night in April 2015. Our room was the Homestead and it was great. Hot tub for 2, fireplace, little basket of chocolate chip cookies. Keurig in the room. Great view of the lake. Hosts were friendly, breakfast was very good. This is the "Only" place to stay in Turtle Lake. You will not regret it!
We stayed one night during the week and had the whole place to ourselves. The room was beautiful and very relaxing. The grounds were also great to explore. I can only imaging how wonderful it looks in the summer and fall months. I have heard the breakfast is very good but we choose the continental breakfast basket delivered to our room. The service was very prompt but we were a bit disappointed to find only a couple muffins, bowl of fruit and juice. I suppose I should have asked. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and plan to return in the fall.
