    Ivy Lodge was outstanding

    I surprised my wife with a weekend stay at the Ivy Lodge. It was a superior experience. The room was beautiful, the lodge itself was breath-taking and it was walking distance to the Walk and we could see many of the mansions along the way.

    Fun honeymoon getaway

    My wife and I stayed at the Ivy Lodge during the second half of our honeymoon. We had a great romantic time. Our room featured a gas fireplace, four-poster canopy bed and the house’s turret. The Ivy Lodge is a good walk or short cab ride to shopping and dining. It is comfortably located in the mansion district not far from Bellevue Avenue. Daryl and Darlene McKenzie are knowledgeable about the area and are easy to talk to. They are extremely accommodating and provide a satisfying breakfast each morning. Very fun experience and well worth the stay--cozy accommodations.

    We'll Be Back!

    This is a lovely and very comfortable place and the Innkeepers, Darlene and Daryl McKenzie, couldn't be more obliging. We were able to park in their lot way ahead of check-in time, a great convenience as we wanted to walk around the neighborhood and along the Cliff Walk. We only had a one night visit but loved the architecturally facinating house, and the food was great! This is a superb location, within a walk to the mansions and Eaton's Beach, and not far from a number of restaurants and shops. After we had checked out, they told us we were welcome to come back later for lemonade. We will definitely come back for another visit, when we can have a longer stay.

Los invitados más notables que se quedó en la sala de la torre son el actor Arnold Schwarzenegger y su esposa, la presentadora de televisión Maria Shriver.

    Satterlee Suite Familiar

    Esta amplia suite familiar tiene capacidad para cuatro personas y está situado en el segundo piso. Una gran sala con una cama king size con chimenea planteadas. Por encima de la chimenea es un televisor con un DVD / VCR escondido en los armarios. A cada lado de la caja son los casos de libros disfrazar un refrigerador. Cerrado en una sala más pequeña es una cama nido con dos camas individuales y la estantería que ofrece su propia televisión con cable. El baño es grande, con un tocador de dos lavamanos y una ducha muy grande para dos personas con un motivo de rana.

    El elegante y romántico Victoria habitación, ubicada en el segundo piso cuenta con una cama king size, planteó chimenea y baño privado con bañera de hidromasaje para dos personas. Las ventanas de esta sala de vistas del lado sur de la propiedad que muestra una de 150 años de edad, arce japonés. La cama king size en esta sala se puede dividir en dos camas individuales y la sala está equipada con televisión por cable.

    La única habitación ubicada en el primer piso, la sala de biblioteca cuenta con una cama queen size y chimenea. Escondido en los gabinetes es un televisor con cable y DVD / VCR y un pequeño refrigerador. El baño tiene bañera de hidromasaje para dos personas y una ducha. El romance es saltar-empezó a ustedes en esta sala con papel de pared de color rojo de seda y fieltro rojo setee a los pies de la cama. Detrás de la cama son ventanales con cortinas de diseño floral.     Most Wonderful B&B

    My husband and I have stayed at the Ivy Lodge many times since our first visit in 2004. It is by far, the most welcoming B&B I have ever stayed in. The owners are most friendly and eager to answer any questions and be helpful. When I arrive, I feel as though I am coming (to my other) home!!! The breakfast is wonderful, the rooms are spotless and the common areas feel as though they are your home. The rooms are beyond beautiful and the interior decoration of the Inn is impeccable. While family suites are available, many rooms are perfect for romance. :-) Diane Lucas

    This was our first time staying at a bed and breakfast and on top of that my fiancee and I were spending a weekend together after having gotten engaged earlier in the week and Ivy Lodge was the perfect place to spend our weekend in Newport. Even prior to arriving in Newport I spoke with Daryl and Darlene and they helped me with reservations and planning events to make sure we could eat where we wanted to eat and get in on the things we wanted to do for the weekend. Upon arriving to the beautiful property we were initially pleased that we were able to walk to the Newport Mansions which we were planning to tour. Darlene met us at the front door and it was like being welcomed into a family member's home. The architecture of Ivy Lodge is exquisite! We reserved the Turret Room, which if it is available and you want to make your stay even more romantic I highly recommend booking this room. We felt pampered every day we spent at Ivy Lodge. Daryl and Darlene make a homemade excellent breakfast each morning (we had pineapple pancakes and eggs benedict with a Grand Mariner hollandaise sauce, YUM!). The inn is very clean and beautifully kept. Also we learned about an important part of staying at a bed and breakfast ...... the other guests. Everyone that stayed was very nice and we actually spend our time touring the Mansions with another couple. The breakfast conversation was delightful. My fiancee and I have already booked our honeymoon stay with Ivy Lodge. If you are considering Newport for a week or weekend getaway consider staying with Daryl and Darlene at Ivy Lodge. You will not be disappointed!

    Wonderful Weekend

    We stayed in the Magnolia Room, was very clean and had a great view of the street. The food every morning was exceptional, different foods than you would expect at a B&B, fresh fruit, breads, muffins, plenty to eat and great snacks for during the day. Make sure you take the time to enjoy the wrap around porch. Daryl and Darlene make you feel at home in their home. Take some time to ask for dinner places and sites to see....they will take the time to make reservations for you and she knows all the great shopping areas!
