Glades Pike Inn

After calling Janet to get a room in the B&B, we found out that she also has a cabin about 7 miles into the Laurel forest. Perfectly secluded, the beautiful spot provided just the right amount of access and isolation. We couldn't have asked for better accommodations or comfort...two bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, balcony, and skylight...a little luxury in the dense, rural woods. Janet made us feel completely welcome, and the cabin was the ideal location for a romantic and private getaway. We will only return to the Glades Pike Inn and Cabin while traveling through Pennsylvania.

My husband and I stayed at the Inn on a stopover to Ohio because we wanted to see Fallingwater and we wanted an Inn convenient to the PA Tpk. We were pleasantly surprised by the Inn and its rooms (spacious, comfy, historic, and with the modern convenience of cable TV. wifi and a ceiling fan) and delighted by Janet's hospitality. Not only was she a delightful hostess, she had great suggestions for dinner and local activities, and the breakfast she made for us and the other two guests was delicious and filling. Her homemade berry jam was an extra treat. She was right on time with early coffee, too, a MUST for me. My husband is a picky traveler, most comfortable in chain hotels and luxury resorts, so I always hold my breath when I book a B&B, but Janet made him right at home and made the stay great for both of us. We'll stop again the next time we are in the area, for sure. Not only did we really love our stay, I thought it was a great value as well. Now I'm thinking of booking the whole place for a family reunion sometime in the future.

My husband and I stayed here 3 nights on a x-country ski vacation. The location was so convenient, close to ski rental and ski trails. Room was nice, clean, comfy. Breakfast was plentiful, healthy and delicious. Janet was very easy-going, accommodating. The ONLY problem was our room was cold. Probably because Inn is old, drafty, hence thermostat was kept very low. Other than that, we loved our stay here.

My children and I first started staying at the Glade in 1990. They went to Summer's Best Two Weeks, a christian camp in Boswell every summer. And I have to say we always looked forward to staying at the Inn and getting to visit with Janet and her mother. Over the years we have many great memories. I want to say the Inn is beautiful, cozy and very inviting. Janet always goes the extra mile whether it's her attention to details, fabulous breakfasts made from scratch or the wealth of information she offers. You will definitely leave grateful for the experience of meeting her and visiting her Inn.

There I was at the doorstep of The Glades Pike Inn with my car broken down.Yes I reach my destination but to my surprise and dismay my car decided it would no longer move.Yes Janet both Innkeeper and Angel came to my aid on a Sunday in Somerset.Her caring is what made all the difference.Surely I could of been put out about my car but Janets smile turned what could of been awful into a nuturing stay.Thanks for being more then just an Innkeeper!!!

Of our 5 b&b experiences, this was by far the best! My husband and I stayed for 3 nights and wish we could have stayed 3 more. The setting was stunning and made for a restful retreat. The Innkeeper, Janet, was a gracious host in every way imaginable. We really felt like we were at home and could stroll around the 200+ acres of property or sit on the porch and drink tea. And the breakfasts were delicious! If you go, be sure to visit the driving range on the adjacent farm, as the owners are wonderful and the sunsets from their property were breathtaking. Take your hiking boots, too, because there are a lot of great trails within easy driving distance, as is Fallingwater.

My fiance and I had a wonderful time staying at the Glades Pike Inn! The rooms are cozy, the breakfast is good, the place is close to many activities and the rates are very affordable! The innkeeper, Janet, is especially nice! We stayed here to be close to skiing, hiking and biking! We will definitely stay at Glades Pike Inn when we are in the area again! Thanks!

We arrived and took a step back into "the good old days" of enjoying the cool breeze on a wrap-around porch, and well-furnished rooms with functional antiques and hand-made bed quilts. We were treated to a great view, easy access to the Wright homes and state parks, and wonderful homemade breakfasts. The people we came in contact with were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended!

We had such a great stay at Glades Pike Inn in 2006 for the National Cycling Festival that we made sure we were back in 2007. Janet is a down to earth person who makes fantastic breakfasts and goes out of her way for her guests. The Inn is wonderful-a real historic treasure.
