Just returned from a much needed break and stayed at the Mary-Penn B&B. We thoroughly enjoyed the comfort and beauty of this very historical home. The Inn Keepers are fabulous people! Breakfasts were perfect. Bea was even able to pleasantly address my GF needs without a lesser quality option. We will go back!

While in the Gettysburg area this past Labor Day weekend we had the pleasure of staying at the Mary-Penn B&B. Absolutely one of the finest B&B's we've stayed at. The room are first rate while the house in its entirety is spectacular. The history of the home is overwhelming as is the attention and service provided by the owners. It's about 8 miles from downtown Gettysburg, plenty close enough to enjoy whatever suites you. The location is rural , quiet , serene and as it should be relaxing. We will be back !

Bea and David have created a B&B that is truly special. For those of you that have an appreciation of beautiful landscapes, amazing accommodations and true hospitality then this is the place for you. The home itself has been respectfully restored and updated. The hearty breakfast personally made by Bea was wonderful. We particularly enjoyed her expansive knowledge of the home and the families that have contributed to the history of this area.

My wife and I spend our anniversary at the Mary Penn B&B over the Halloween weekend. The house is in a very relaxing environment. The creek flowed just outside the house which is good drive into the farm, so no outside noises were heard. Deer were seen out in the fields in the morning. Other wildlife is readily seen also, such as hawks and the occasional eagle. But the best part of the experience was meeting the owners Bea and David. They made you feel at home. If you visit Mary Penn, you must sit down with them and talk about the history of the house and of their family history in the area. We plan to return with our friends for a relaxing visit. Where to start? Absolutely amazing! This was my first ever bed and breakfast and to be honest it will be very hard to top! From the minute I met Bea till the last minute of my stay I felt like I have known her for years! she gave an amazing, informational tour. She made me feel like I was at home and that's what I wanted, Amazing view and very peaceful! I am sure I could keep talking about it because I have so much to say but I don't want to give away my experience and time there, you need to go and see for YOURSELF! Amazing job Bea! Beautiful place and your such an amazing person. Your friend from PA! Ill be back! :) I told you that! Don't wait, make a date!

Every so often you are drawn to a place that has a special meaning. For us this is the spot. Not only is their home spotless, comfortable, and full of history but the hostess, Bea, is a treasure in her own right! From the moment we entered the front door and learned the history of the Mary-Penn it was clear this was not just a place to lay your head but a place to call home. Recommend it highly! Bea and David are the perfect hosts. We stayed for the weekend and we all were treated like family. Our coma onions had been there before and this was my first trip and definitely recommend a stay. The history alone of the house is amazi and coupled with the hospitality makes this place amazing.

Bea and David will take great care of you at the MaryPenn. Part of Inn is in PA, the other in MD, but this Inn is all together a treat. When you arrive Bea will give you a history of the Inn and then treat you to wine and a cheese plat to be enjoyed when you like. There is a beautiful stream right by the Inn, where you can enjoy these treats and solitude. Breakfast was great along with the company of Bea and David. If you like beautiful settings, the quiet, and great hospitality. Gayl and Kurt

My dad and I took a father-son trip to Gettysburg. We absolutely loved the Mary-Penn B&B. First of all, it is extremely cool how historic the building is. It's a farmhouse built in 1740 with the second floor put on using bricks thrown off as ballast in Baltimore Harbor in 1793. It's in an absolutely lovely setting (surrounded by 900 acres of farm) away from the tourist hustle and bustle. Bea and David are extremely nice and were wonderful hosts to us. (David even drove us to see an original marker laid by Mason and Dixon in the 1700s not far from the property. The breakfasts were huge and delicious (and this is coming from a big eater). We stayed in the William Penn room which was really nice and great for us because there was an annex with a twin bed that I slept in. I was a little concerned the inn would be too far out of town, but it's not. It's close and the setting is so lovely and private it's worth the extra short drive. (Also, downtown Gettysburg is a little overrun with fudge shops and haunted tours for my tastes.)
