The out of the way location made this Inn a quiet, restful retreat. Our room was very clean. The bed linens were a nice quality and the mattress very comfortable. The bathroom was large and also very clean. We got two great nights of sleep. We sat by the window and drank coffee in the morning as we looked out upon fields and mountains. A couple of deer came into view to add to the charm. Breakfast was very good. The homemade smoked sausage was delicious. There were several ways to handle the food offered, and I had plenty to accommodate a gluten, egg, and dairy free diet. Dinners were also delicious. Saturday night we reserved the smoked ribs. They were outstanding. I've never had ribs like that. The Innkeepers were friendly, helpful, and had a great sense of humor that made for delightful conversations. It was hot in the afternoon, so we went to the pool for a swim. They said the pool was four feet deep, but I don't think so. It was shallow and my feet touched the bottom when I tried to swim. However, the water was clean and felt good on the hot day so we just lolled around in the water for awhile. We liked our stay so much that we've just made reservations to return. That's the best recommendation I can think of.

We enjoyed our brief stay at Murphin Ridge and would recommend it to anyone traveling to the beautiful farmland of central Ohio. Thank you for a peaceful respite!

Seven years ago my wife (second marriage for both) and I stayed at Murphin Ridge on our honeymoon. We heard that the Inn had changed hands and were concerned about whether the qualities we loved about the place remained. By and large they have. The breakfast was excellent. The grounds continue to be exceedingly well maintained. It is a quiet retreat place where there is little to but connect - and we found many other couples in second marriages and young couples doing just that. Nearby hiking, Amish shops and serpent's mound are all good opportunities to extend the connection. The new owners are down to earth people who work to make the stay convivial. The Memorial Day dinner was a barbecue, which was fine but very casual, we did not sample the usual fare.

If your expectations are in the right place prior to your stay, you will be pleased with your decision to lodge at Murphin Ridge Inn. If you want a break from technology, stay at Murphin Ridge Inn (no television sets in the cabins and slow internet). If you want to hike on flatter ground, stay at Murphin Ridge Inn. If you want to experience semi-Amish hospitality in the land of the Amish, stay at Murphin Ridge Inn. If you want to be miles away from civilization, stay at Murphin Ridge Inn. The cabins are comfortable; the food is tasty; and the experience is refreshing.

My wife and I have stayed at MANY B+B's. This one ranks right near the top. The grounds are great, fire pit is a nice addition, as is the tennis court. Breakfast and dinner were great! Thanks to Kelly for guiding us to some great places to hike, and to Britany for outstanding service and making our stay so memorable!

The cabins are great! Nice and peaceful! We like going to the Murphin Ridge Inn for a quick getaway. It's close to Cincinnati so it's easy to get to but you feel like you are far from home! The grounds are beautiful and staff are great! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

We just returned from Murphin Ridge Inn and had a beautiful, relaxing 3 day weekend there. The Innkeepers, Paula and Gerry, are doing a remarkable job. Our room in the Inn was spotless, they also have Amish built cabins, but we choose to stay in an Inn room on this visit. The cabins are great also, as we have stayed in those before. The meals are presented as if they were posing for a food magazine article, and delicious they were. The staff, along with the innkeepers, are helpful and friendly. The nightly campfires are a great time to sit around and get to know some of the other visitors, many were repeat visitors to M.R.I. The setting is beautiful and sits in an Amish area in Southern Ohio. The Amish can be seen doing their daily chores while driving through the gentle rolling hills. There are a couple Amish stores nearby also, where one can buy furniture, bulk foods, bakery items, etc. A great place to sit back and unwind, whether for just a few days, or for much longer. This was our 4th visit, and definitely won't be our last. Stay here and you won't be disappointed............Gloria & Bill

Randomly selected this inn for a 2 night stay because a concert we would be attending was nearby but found out that Murphin Ridge Inn could be a destinaton all by itself! Beautiful peaceful surroundings yet plenty of shopping and places to see just far enough away to help us stay relaxed and restful. Now hoping my hubby will take me back in the Fall. Friendly, nice people and sweet staff. Loved it!

My husband and I stayed here for two nights for our wedding anniversary. Rooms: We stayed in a cabin (Celebration) and it was the perfect balance of 'woodsy' and luxury. The cabins are relatively new, and are so comfortable. We enjoyed the peace and quiet, the fireplace and the shower/tub amenities. Everything seemed very clean and well kept. Service: The innkeepers and staff couldn't be nicer. Dining: You can tell most everything is home made. Dinner was pricey but SO good. Breakfast was also amazing. It definitely wasn't health food, but worth the splurge :) Area: If you're looking for a lot of action and adventure, you're in the wrong place. We enjoyed the simple tranquility of the area. The towns are small and don't offer a whole lot of entertainment or dining, but that was fine with us. For lunch we picked up sandwiches at Miller's (a huge Amish store and grocery) which was perfect. We drove around the country side, played games in our cabin and did a crossword puzzle by the fire pit at sunset. It was restful and simple. Beautiful place to visit. We talked about coming back again with a group of friends when life gets crazy. It would be fun to rent the cabins next to each other.
