    The Main Street Inn has welcomed guests for over 100 years. The Inn's architecture is of the Federal Farmhouse style and was restored to it's original circa 1885 luster during the winter of 1998 by New York Architect and designer Christopher E. Dubs. The Inn is located on Main Street, in the center of the beautiful mountain town of Highlands, North Carolina. The Inn offers 20 charming and cozy rooms, all with private baths, individual heating and air conditioning, in-room direct dial telephones and cable TV and wireless internet. Situated in the middle of the 5 block downtown area of Highlands, fine dining and shopping at the exclusive shops of Highlands are all within walking distance. Through the years, the relaxing comfortable atmosphere,rooms and inviting aromas from the kitchen have reminded guests of a visit to the country in times past. The Inn serves a sumptuous hot breakfast from 8:30 am until 10:00 am each morning.

    Excellent experience

    The location was wonderful. The staff met every one of our requests. We especially enjoyed the art work that decorated the inn. Breakfast included a wide variety of items to choose from ... all well prepared.

    Buyer beware

    Worst B and B experience ever. Total misrepresentation. Moved us from our booked room (so they wouldn't' have to heat it) to their "best room". The "best room" had no heat, no working room phone and no wi-fi. Entrance from parking up their terrace walk was like walking down a city street full of uneven payment like potholes. Handling made oh one inch pipe. All-in-all worst of the worst for the money and I feel cheated and robbed. Don't trust what they tell you. Validate and verify.

    Wonderful Stay

    We had visited the inn befor the new ownership and loved it...our visit this time exceeded all our expectations you will love it.
