The Labyrinth..;What is it? ;People, formal cultures, and traditions have used the spiral and labyrinth designs as a symbol of their search for meaning and guidance. The labyrinth or one path design ; there are no tricks or decisions to be made ; much as the surrender to walking a sacred spiritual path in life – our only decision is to choose spirit/God and surrender to divine guidance. The labyrinth is non -denominational . People of all faiths and people longing to re-connect to faith come to walk labyrinths. Some of the earliest forms of labyrinths are found in Greece, dating back to 2500-2000 B.C.E. We have built and created an eleven circuit Labyrinth by the old Spring House amidst 100 year old white oak trees for your peaceful enjoyment, meditation and relaxation.

Welcome to Inn at WinterSun where you will be treated as part of our family. We hope to make your experience here as comfortable as you would feel in your own home. Start your morning with a delicious homemade breakfast. Breakfast is served seven days a week at 9:00am in our Formal Dining Room. Don’t worry about all those extra calories because after indulging, you can easily work it off by enjoying the beauty of the estate. We are surrounded by 117 acres of wooded hiking trails, open meadows, creeks and streams. Yes, there are trout in Cane Creek, so remember to bring a fishing pole. You are always welcome in the kitchen should you like a snack… or pack a little picnic lunch to enjoy the peace and harmony of nature! Our kitchen is always open for you to help yourself to fresh local coldcuts, cheeses, fruits and vegetables. Should you want to venture off the grounds, the Blue Ridge Parkway is only about 8 miles away, downtown Asheville is about 10 miles. The World Famous Biltmore Estate is also about 10 miles away. There is so much to do and see in Asheville and the surrounding areas, you’ll always find plenty to do and explore. If you are hoping to recharge and get some peace and quiet, just stay at the Inn and enjoy the sounds of nature with a glass of wine on the Veranda.

My time in Asheville was magical. The location was amazing (including the Inn and the property), food fantastic and the Inn Keeper, Nina, immediately made everyone feel welcome and at home. The only downside was that I was not able to stay for more than a long weekend! I will definitely return to the Inn and would highly recommend to family and friends!

The home and the grounds are absolutely stunning. The views take full advantage of the beauty of western North Carolina. It's pretty amazing to wake up to the view of the Blue Ridge Mountains from your bedroom windows without having to take your head off the pillow! The rooms are stylishly decorated and very comfortable and cozy, each with a gas fireplace. The breakfast is hearty and delicious. In short, if you want to pamper yourself, this is the place for you! It would also be a wonderful venue for a family reunion.

I spent 3 days at a retreat held at the Inn. The accommodations and setting were wonderful. The view from the back porch was amazing. The Blue Ridge Mtn were specacular. NIna the women in charge did a good job of taking care of everyone and the food was terrifeic. I can't say enough good things about my experience at the Wineertsun Inn. I will go back when I can.

Hard to believe such a place exists. Nina the innkeeper is peaceful and welcoming. The grounds are so beautiful--complete with sculptures, hiking trails and a spiritual labyrinth. The rooms are so comfortable you could sleep on and on but then you would miss the day. Asheville is nearby for your dining/shopping needs. I will return because when I drove through the gates I knew it was special.

My partner and I were in search of the perfect place to have a commitment ceremony after going to D.C. to legally marry, we went to several locations and were about to give up when we heard about Wintersun Inn. We made an appointment with Nina over the phone and then went to the Inn to see what we thought. From the breath taking drive up to the Inn, we were already taken aback! All of a sudden you are in the middle of beautiful grounds and a grand structure known as the Inn appears...wow was all we could say!! We met with Nina and knew this tranquil paradise was where we would have our ceremony! Everything from the catering, to Nina the Innkeeper's attention to every detail and making sure all went perfect!! We could not have asked for more! We stayed the night in the lavish suite the night before the ceremony and enjoyed the comfort and beauty of the Inn. Restaurants and grocery stores are within a few miles of the Inn. We are so pleased with our entire experience at Wintersun Inn, that we will be back and have plans of spending our anniversaries there for many years to come!

Prepare yourself when you drive up to the gates of the Inn at Wintersun; for we can attest to the fact the all your expectations will be well exceeded. From that first entrance, as you drive through captivating grounds with uniquely exquisite sculptures lining your path and horses grazing as a backdrop to the majesty of mountains behind; it feels a bit like you have entered a place, somewhat enchanted. And then, within this magical setting the Inn itself welcomes you with a perfectly balanced blend of old world charm and contemporary comforts. Each room is more beautiful than the next and yet you feel completely at home even amongst the delightful decorations and antiques. This is a home designed for comfort and we could happily have spent our whole vacation sitting out on the veranda, drinking in the view. It doesn't end there though, for the Keeper of this Inn, Nina Bradbury, is every bit as delightful and welcoming as Wintersun. After only a few days, we all felt like fast friends and were even fortunate enough on our last day to meet the handsome and talented Colin; chef extraordinaire! Oh my goodness, I never knew breakfast could be that good! Nina and Colin are truly an unbeatable pair and I only wish my husband and I lived close enough to really get to know them. Who knows, maybe one day we will, for we were so impressed that we are thinking of moving to the area. Try the Inn at Wintersun; I promise you will find Magic there!

As a busy executive, it's important that I am able operate in a productive yet fun and peaceful environment. My recent stay at The Inn at Wintersun was amazing on every front. The rooms were impeccable, the food outstanding and OH MY GOD the grounds and the views were spectacular! The team that Ms Bradbury has assembled did an excellent job all week long. Frankly, I plan to return with my family and we will also consider using the Inn at Wntersun for a few corporate events. My rating is A+++++++ EJW
