    OUTSTANDING!

    septiembre 08, 2012

The National Hotel in Frenchtown NJ is one of the warmest, friendliest and accommodating places you can stay. The staff is attentive to your needs. The restaurant has excellent menu options and the rooms provide a serene environment. We keep coming back, year after year. We tried Frenchtown as a weekend escape years ago and like the fact that it was as yet an undiscovered gem. Thank you Marlon for always making our stay enjoyable. See you in a few months.

    Awesome Getaway

    abril 27, 2012

This place was incredibly cute. The building has a really fascinating history, which the affable manager Marlon sat us down and shared. He's the friendliest guy in the world. He made us feel right at home in the hotel and the town, giving us the insider secrets on what to do and where to go. The food was fantastic (try the chocolate pie!), and the drinks were really affordable. Beautiful old hotel bar, and the rathskeller pub downstairs was so cozy. And look out for that big ol' bathtub jacuzzi!

Had a wonderful time - Love the service!

    noviembre 14, 2011

I took my husband here for his birthday and we had a great time. We took the Loft suite and I told the General Manager Marlon the room look better in person then on the website. What I love about our room we had a separate entrance so it seems more personal. We felt our room a little chilly and Marlon turned up the heat and if we felt that wasn't enough heat (which it was) he gave us a heater. We ate in the dining area and the bar and the food was delicious. If you need a place to stay where the area is quiet this is the place. I do recommend one of the attractions there - Alba Vineyard. My husband and I had a great time at their wine tasting. We came late for the tour (to see how the grapes are taking off the vines and put into the machines)- the best time to go is Sept or Oct. to see this process. But our tour guide still took us around to see how they are put the wine into barrels and into bottles. I have to warn you after the tasting you will buy more than one bottle of wine. :)

    Wedding weekend

    noviembre 13, 2011

We booked the entire National Hotel for our wedding weekend. It was a wonderful weekend and our guests seemed happy there. There were a couple mishaps, though. Two weeks before the wedding I learned that our booking of the hotel was not on their schedule and they had given rooms away. It was their mistake and once they realized this, they corrected the error. They were apologetic and withstood my bridezilla moments quite graciously, which I appreciated. However, this was a major stressor that I did not need. Second, I requested that our guests be able to come back to the hotel and enjoy the upstairs bar after as an after-party. I was told this would be fine and the bar would be open until 2 am. However, when we got to the hotel for the after-party, the manager said there was no bartender and we weren't allowed to use the upstairs bar, even with our own wine/beer. We had to squeeze into a kind of dank room off the Rathskellar. I should have gotten this agreement in writing and followed up multiple times to make sure we could have the bar, I regret that. We had fun anyway. I should add it was the weekend of Hurricane Irene, so maybe they closed the bar early due to the impending storm. But whatever the case, they seem to have completely forgotten our verbal agreement. Besides those two issues, the staff was very helpful, accommodating and friendly. When the power went out due to the storm, they came around with flashlights. They allowed late check-outs because of the road closures. The rooms really are charming and the upstairs bar is beautiful. I definitely recommend the National. But, if you are a bride, I would be sure to get all agreements in writing and re-confirm, re-confirm, re-confirm (which you should do with all vendors anyway).

    Perfect weekend getaway

    octubre 09, 2011

Celebrated our anniversary here the weekend of October 8th. Had a beautiful room and the personal service was excellent... had to make a few special requests which were fulfilled immediately. Enjoyed the live music and atmosphere of the Rathskeller Pub on Sat night! Would have liked additional furniture on the balcony, but what was available did suffice for our needs. Would definitely stay here again.
