Bridges Inn at Whitcomb House

We spent Easter weekend at the Bridges Inn, and it was a perfect getaway! Nick and Susan were warm, gracious, and generous hosts. David is a gifted chef, and we enjoyed his bountiful and delicious breakfast (which included a warm apple, pear and cranberry crisp!) served on vintage china in the sunny dining room. We loved our spacious room, which was quiet and comfortable, and beautifully decorated with Victorian antiques (as is the rest of the inn). Little details such as current magazines, Ghiradelli chocolates, and a coffee/tea maker were thoughtful additions to the room. We most highly recommend the Bridges Inn for its exceptional accommodations, food, and hospitality!

Just spent a night at this most pleasant of inns full of atmosphere and antiques--every detail is just right and the family you'll meet is extremely kind and interesting! A+++

We had a great two night stay in December, 2012. The room and house were clean, comfortable and filled with period antiques that create an enjoyable atmosphere. Breakfast was delicious. The location was particularly nice; minutes away from shopping and dining but still offered a small town feel. WIFI was serviceable. We would highly recommend!

We stayed in the slate bridge room - the pretty pink and white one. The room was so charming and cozy! We enjoyed our night so much we decided to stay Saturday night was well. The breakfasts were outstanding - broccoli quiche Saturday morning and waffles on Sunday. There is plenty of food to go around. We had wonderful meal time company and enjoyed talking with them. I stayed at the Bridges Inn in early October and I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about it!! Susan, her husband Nick and David were all very warm, friendly and welcoming and truly made me feel at home. I stayed in the Carlton Bridge Room and it was stunning! The period decor and furnishings added to the cozy, comfortable feeling of the room (as well as all of the other rooms I saw). It was the perfect place to unwind and curl up with a good book after a busy day of leaf-peeping. David's breakfasts were absolutely delicious with a wide variety to suit every palate, and there was enough food to feed a small army! If you are looking for the perfect place for some rest and relaxation, I would highly recommend the Bridges Inn...and I, myself, will be back very soon!

My family and I needed a place to stay, but we never expected a retreat! The Bridge's Inn exceeded all our expectations and turned a necessary trip into a rejuvenating get away. The innkeepers were warm and went out of their way to make us comfortable, the food was out of this world...not just a homemade muffin in the morning...quiche, baked "fried" potatoes, home made bread. We sat on a the screened in porch and it was so peaceful and comfortable. The inn was both private and family oriented. I have never been a cleaner hotel or inn and the towels were the nicest I have ever used anywhere. Treat yourself! The Bridge's Inn can turn a family visit or business trip into a great vacation.

We enjoyed our stay during some very warm days in New Hampshire. The breakfasts were wonderful. We especially enjoyed the waffles. My wife was thrilled that different sets of china were used for each breakfast. We also enjoyed the shaded screen porch where we could sit and relax over coffee and conversation.

Susan and David are wonderful hosts. Our third of many stays yet to come!! Beautiful rooms with tons of amenities, warm and inviting common areas, lovely gardens and creative, delicious breakfasts! We had some special requests for food and David was unbelievably accommodating - getting up extra early to make items that he thought we would like. Two friends and I had a wonderful, relaxing three days at the Bridges Inn. It is a beautiful old home with all the modern amenities one could want. Susan and Rick were very warm and welcoming, the breakfast was delicious, and we felt comfortable making ourselves at home, made good use of the kitchen table to play cards, the living room for TV and Internet, the porch for reading, etc. It is in a pleasant neighborhood for walks and there are great restaurants nearby. Ask Susan for the discount coupon for Elm City Brewery - food was excellent. Our rooms were very comfortable - the chocolates were a special treat. I highly recommend a stay in the Bridges Inn.

We were lucky enough to find Bridges Inn at Whitcomb House on the internet and what a find it was. It was welcoming, room spacious yet cozy, the bed very comfortable. The breakfast was superlative and lovely to wake up to the aromas from the kitchen. Coffee was really good quality. Susan was a lovely hostess and David a talented chef.

I took my wife here for her birthday weekend because she has wanted to stay at a nice B&B "Up North" during the winter. Everything was great including the ownwer and the breakfast! Hey, my wife now likes asparagus! We will definatley be back at least once a year. Maybe next time there will be a little snow! Thanks for a great stay!

I have been staying at the Bridges Inn for years, as my mother lives a short block away. Beyond the convenience of the location, Susan and her family have created a welcoming place for me (and now my husband) to come and relax and unwind when we travel North for holidays and other visits. Our favorite room is The Coombs Bridge room, although the entire house is filled with beautiful antiques and linens. I especially look forward to David's delicious breakfasts, and my vegetarian diet has always been happily accommodated. The friendly, outgoing staff opened their home and made us feel most welcomed. It was a great stay and we enjoyed the food and attentive service immensely. We had one person requiring gluten free diet and this was accommodated with ease.

My husband and I spent a long weekend at the Bridges Inn, staying in the Thompson Bridge Room, a spacious room with all sorts of amenities. I am a frequent traveler in my work (a "road warrior" of sorts), so I appreciate a comfortable, clean, and well-appointed room. It was truly relaxing. However, I have to add that what one remembers most about this B&B is the warm hospitality of hosts Susan and Nick, and the fabulous breakfasts prepared by David each morning (home-baked peach muffins, coffee cake with fresh cherries, a vegetable fritatta, yummy waffles--need I go on?). On Sunday Hurricane Irene hit New England. We fortunately did not lose electric power, so were a bit oblivious to the rain outside, but It was a night to stay indoors and our hosts graciously served dinner to us and other guests, a hearty lamb stew! One tip - we highly recommend the Russian Icon Museum in Clinton, MA, just an hour and a half away, which we visited on Saturday. Also, in Keene I found a beautiful metal "maple leaf" ornament at "Creative Encounters," a gift shop with lots of local crafts.

The accomodations were great, food superb and the staff very friendly and helpful.

We, a women's bicycling group, just spent a delightful weekend biking retreat at the Bridges Inn. The owners are very attentive and friendly, the food was absolutely outstanding. The location is ideal for exploring the area and is very quiet. The beds comfortable and the decor is all yesteryear without being contrived. We would recommend the inn to all.

This is my fourth stay in this lovely place, but it was the first time in the Coombs Bridge Room, which is now my favorite. Everyone who stays here must acknowledge the incomparable hospitality one enjoys here, as well as the delicious gourmet food. Susan and Nick provide such a welcome and gentle presence that one feels instantly at home, yet, the marvel is--one feels like pampered royalty at the same time. This time, I had more retreat-like leisure to absorb the pleasure of a long breakfast. Later, I read by the cozy fire, sitting in the burgundy wing chair, while outside the lace curtained windows of the livingroom, the snow fell quietly. This is a wonderful experience for which I am most grateful.

My wife, and two daughters were looking for a quiet place to wind down from the family visits on both sides for Christmas. We found the Bridges Inn on -line and were quite happy with the visit! Susan our host was friendly and respectful of our want to just hang out and relax for some family downtime. The breakfast David served was outstanding and the Inn was charming with all of its' quaint antiques. We had to cut it short due to the Storm that came in, but are looking forward to our return trip. We were very pleased with our stay at Bridges Inn. Our room was a good size, the bed was very comfortable. There were many plush towels of all sizes in the bathroom. Everything was very clean which is important to us. Susan was friendly and hospitable, wishing to please us in any way. The breakfasts she prepared were healthy and delicious. The bread was made by her son, and tasted wonderful. We will definitely return and recommend this Inn to anyone.

We recently had a delightful stay in this lovely bed and breakfast. The rooms are beautiful, and the breakfast was five-star! If we're traveling again in this area, we will definitely make reservations here again.

My husband and I stayed at the Inn on our 2010 foliage trip. Staying at the Inn was a New England treat! The Inn was beautiful, and our room was decorated very well. The furnishing were outstanding, and so interesting. We were the only ones there at that time,(midweek) so we were able to spend some time watching t.v. in the common area, that was eually interesting. I could spend hours just walking around looking at the beautiful antiques. The breakfast could not have been better. Susan's son, David is an amazing chef. Everything was delicious, and of course set off by antique china and silver. We were made to feel so special. Susan was so sweet, hospitable, and helpful. She is indeed in her element! She recommended perfect restaurants and things in the area. All in all it was a priviledge to stay in her home!

Charming atmosphere, tasty cuisine, and cordial hosts make this B&B a joy to visit. So close to the sites and action in Keene yet serene location give a sense of peace around the inn. Comfy bed was a plus. Looking forward to our next visit.

We stayed at the Bridges Inn in August, 2010. Our room was immaculate, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Susan, the inn owner, is friendly, gracious and accommodating. David, the chef, was positively masterful in creating a sumptuous breakfast using a variety of foods. The whole meal was freshly made including, at least, two kinds of bread. Who knew that you could have home-made English muffins!! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Bridges Inn wholeheartedly..

Our stay at the inn was fabulous. Susan and her family are welcoming, helpful, and highly proficient in hospitality services. What a warm and inviting ambience, complete with elegant antiques, exceptional service and all the comforts of home and then some! Susan greeted us warmly upon our arrival, and made certain that we were happy with our accomodations. Dave carried our luggage to our room and offered us some refreshments. It was like visiting friends! We were given a tour of the delightful & huge 1792 inn...shown where we could access hot/cold beverages, computer/printer, big screen TV, and all the common areas of the house. Gorgeously decorated, the inn is a showpiece in itself. We stayed 6 nights, and every morning we experienced an AMAZING homemade breakfast, with different china patterns featured each day! Dave cooks using fresh, organic ingredients and his culinary skills are exceptional. We were consistently amazed, and completely satisfied. Delightful experience. Many thanks!!!

The Bridges Inn at Whitcomb House is an absolutely exceptional bed and breakfast experience, and that is to stay nothing of the inn keepers. Susan and David opened their inn to two weary professional actors, in search of a nice place to stay for the night. We were to be performing at local elementary schools the next day and stumbled upon Bridges. The nightly rate was a bit out of our price range; us being on a company budget but Susan, David, and staff were willing to work within our budget! They put a roof over our heads for the evening and went above and beyond to offer us a delightful little breakfast the next morning! The room was absolutely charming. From the delightful little antiques right down to the private bathroom. They offered all the amenities we could ever need. The wi-fi and television were a big plus, and did not even take away from the uniqueness and charm of this beautiful, historic home. My tour partner and I awoke to fresh coffee and homemade bread and jam laid out for us with the finest antique china. All in all, we felt like very special guests and that our comfort was the inn keepers' number one priority. And not to mention, the absolutely beautiful surroundings! I would love to return someday soon to enjoy more of the terrific landscape that is New Hampshire and the Monadnock region. Check it out!

We had an unexpected trip to Keene and were incredibly lucky to find Susan's B&B. This was graduation weekend and Susan had a cancellation for the first night we were there. Unfortunately she was booked for the next night, but went way out of her way to find us another place for that night. We got to return for the next two nights. Her hospitality was outstanding, her son's breakfast unexcelled and the rooms clean and comfortable. As a B&B veteran, I would return here in a heartbeat!

I just cannot say enough nice things about this B & B! It truly is the place to stay to feel the "warmth" from Susan and her family and to have the best breakfast in the world. Tremendous job on the cooking David! You are the best. Thanks for the special omelets. Also I would like to add that the Inn is very clean! This was our 3rd visit, and we will definitely be back! The rooms are beautiful, the breakfasts are amazing, and the hospitality is always top notch. A cot has been provided for our daughter each time, which is not often available at other inns. While we enjoy the charm of the inn, the added convenience of having a computer printer available to print out boarding passes for our trip home was very helpful.

The Bridges Inn is the nicest B&B we've ever stayed at because it has all the best characteristics of a B&B without any of the negatives. It is so large we had plenty of privacy and didn't feel awkwardly placed amidst a family in their own home, yet it offers all the warmth and comfort you'd hope to experience in a private home. Our rooms were beautiful and extremely comfortable. We wished we weren't so busy so we could have spent more time relaxing in them. The food was delicious--an amazing breakfast was served in a lovely dining room. Susan (the owner) and her son (the cook) made us feel welcome and at home. The covered bridges in the area were an added bonus. We had a great time and will definitely be return.

I had a wonderful time at the Bridges Inn while visiting in the area for college recruiting. The Inn is in a great location (near Keene, NH and Brattleboro, VT) as a central base for day travel. The rooms are spacious and comfortable--and the snuggly bathrobes aren't bad either! My bathroom was warm on the chilly fall mornings, and while completely modern, retained a tin lined wooden tub. The Schuster family all take part in the management and operation of the Inn and are consummate hosts. I very much enjoyed my conversations with Susan and Elizabeth, and "Top Chef" should know that David could cook circles around their contestants; I hope he is soon discovered in national culinary circles. The Bridges Inn is everything you hope for in a New England Inn-- you even drive over a covered bridge to get to it. I would recommend the Inn as a great place for a weekend getaway, or a relaxing home away from home while on a business trip.

Great way to step into the past. Excellent value. Minutes from Keene and at least (6) covered bridges. Quaint old Inn with the look and feel of days gone by. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the food was excellent from fresh fruit to hearty New England breakfasts. Hosts were friendly and accomodating. Plan to visit again.

Not only was the Bridges Inn the best value in a 15 mile radius but the food and accomodations were out of this world! If you need to go to the greater Keene area for any reason, this is the place to stay. You will feel like a member of the family but eat like royalty. The atmosphere and food are unparalleled! We can't wait to visit again!

This is our second visit to the inn we have loved both of the rooms we have had. Beautiful, comfortable absolutely perfect. Dave out did himself with breakfast I couldn't stop telling everyone how delicious both of our breakfast were. He was also very accomodating to my husbands palate needs. I stayed here in April and had a lovely time. The Inn is very cute and within easy driving distance of numerous covered bridges.

We recently stayed at the Bridges Inn while attending a family reunion in Keene, N.H. We enjoyed meeting Susan, the innkeeper, and her daughter Elizabeth very much. They were extremely hospitable and attentive to all of our needs. We did not meet David until the last day when he sent us on our way with a wonderful sample of Honduran Coffee which we are still enjoying. The Bridges Inn was quiet, clean and charming in every way and the breakfasts were fantastic!! We look forward to visiting again sometime in the near future.

From our very first correspondence with Susan I knew that the Bridges Inn was a special place. They were happy to accommodate my family with 3 couples, 2 young infants and several dietary restrictions. The rooms were comfortable and tastefully decorated. The Bridges Inn is the perfect B & B for visitors to the Monadnock region. Decor of the rooms brings one back into Victorian times; but the SO comfortable beds, the bathrooms, reading material, etc. are definitely of the present. Breakfasts are served in an elegant dining room. None of this going around to find cold cereal and juice drinks. Everything is homemade, delicious, filling and beautifully served. Dear Susan and David, You both worked too hard. We hope you are now resting! We were delighted with our accomodations--of course making the adjustments for older folks. We are fresh air nuts so would want windows open instead of a/c. David or Claudio better have the cold water feed on the downstairs shower checked. l took a pretty hot shower! Guests can control air conditioners in each guest room and can also open and close the windows. The water temperature on showers can easily be controlled by simply turning the dial. Guests should always feel free to ask us for help with anything, such as adjusting the air conditioners, shower controls, or opening and closing windows, and we will be happy to provide assistance.

Clean,quiet and comfortable. Susan and Elizabeth were very accomodating,without being "pesky". We like to be treated as guests but not doted over or watched like children,although we probably could benefit from some supervision sometimes. It's true about the breakfasts, country elegance, delightfully delicious! We stayed in the Carlton Bridge room. If your over 5'8" you will not fit in this bed,it's just not long enough, people were probably shorter when it was built. Charming inside as only a big old house can be, and the garden outside the front door was just beginning to bloom. Very nice. Walter & Tracy , NY State.

My stay at The Bridges Inn couldn't have been better. This was the first time I have stayed at a B&B. Susan is a wonderful innkeeper. She is very personable and did everything she could to make me feel at home. Elizabeth cooked scrumptious breakfasts. I wish I could have hired her as my personal chef. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. I will most surely stay here again when I am in the Keene area.

Home sweet home! Everything was perfect! My family stayed here for Keene State College graduation weekend and my adult children applauded me for my great pick for an Inn. Susan makes you feel at home the moment you step foot into her beautiful Inn which takes you back into time. The rooms are beautiful, clean and very comfortable. The breakfasts.......you'll be ready to make another reservation here in the near future once you've dined here! The food is so fresh and fantastic. One wonderful dish after another keeps arriving. Even if you are not a breakfast eater....this breakfast is hard to resist! This also happened to be Mother's Day Weekend...and I'm thinking about going back EVERY Mother's Day...to be pampered by the beautiful hostess, Susan, and her daugher, Elizabeth who is also a very sweet person and a wonderful cook!

Our first stay at this beautiful Inn was approximately 10 years ago, back when we were dating, and we've been coming to stay a weekend each year ever since! We absolutely love it! We've gone to other B&Bs but keep coming back to this one! The Inn is filled with beautiful antiques all throughout, the living room is very cozy with beautiful furniture, very nicely kept, with a big screen TV to watch a game or a movie by the fire. There are also board games available upon request. You will love the old fashioned charm of this Inn, it's a home away from home! There's a hot tub out back which is open during the warm months of the year, and a tea room, also a gazebo out front to sit and enjoy your coffee, wine, or beer. The Inn is VERY clean and very well taken care of! Susan will take care of ALL your needs, if there's anything at all that you need, just ask! If you stay in the room downstairs you will be able to have a bubble bath in the original tin tub back from when the Inn was first built in the 1700's! The breakfasts are To.Die.For!! You will be SO happy when you come down to the dining room for breakfast, it's not just any breakfast, it's a gourmet meal! You will still be full at lunch time! Believe me! David isn't just a cook, he's a chef! You will be asked if you have any special diet needs and will be accommodated to your satisfaction, guaranteed! Just let Susan know a little ahead of time. You definitely will be spoiled when you stay at this B&B! Lots of shopping and plenty of restaurants in W. Swanzey and Keene, including a brewery, antique shops, book stores, and plenty of sight-seeing, skiing, snowshoeing, biking, and hiking. This B&B is in a GREAT location! It's close enough to everything but situated in a very quiet neighborhood. We highly recommend this Inn!

The Bridges Inn is now at the top of our list of B and B's. It is a wonderful house with an inviting and relaxing atmosphere. Susan is a lovely and very accommodating hostess. This was our first time at the Bridges Inn and we'll definitely be back. The rooms were all beautifully decorated, and the common space cozy with a fireplace. We loved the quiet area and the covered bridges, as well as the proximity to the artsy and picturesque downtown Keene. The breakfasts were more than plentiful and delicious!

Exceptional hospitality, every convenience, very clean. Most eclectic collection of antiques from mid-19th to 1940s, all very tasteful. Susan's hospitality is genuine, and David is an excellent cook, best breakfast we've ever had in a B%B, and hard pressed to surpass it anywhere. Will repeat

Fall in New Hampshire, weekend at " Bridges Inn", and a pumpkin festival to boot equals PERFECT ! Bridges Inn located near covered bridge, white church steeple, and history galore takes you to a stress free zone. And, how can I forget gourmet breakfast served on china in formal dining area... this was a super weekend from begining to end.. opps, I almost forgot Susan the hostess surprised us with special treats in keeping with theme of pumpkin fest.....cannot say enough, loved it all ..... We had stayed at Bridges in 2004 before Susan and David had acquired it and it was lovely then, upon our return in October 2008 (on a leaf-peeping trip from UK) we took my elderly cousin and his wife with us, hoping that it would be just as good. We were amazed that it could actually be better. Susan and David could not have been better hosts, catering to our every whim (hope there were not too many of them) with a smile, whilst never being intruding. David's breakfasts were better than any we have ever had in the US and we have had some good 'uns. The whole ambiance of Bridges was so relaxing that we just didn't want to leave but it was such a lovely way to end our holiday in the US. Thank you Susan and David - especially for the lovely hugs at the end!

This was our first visit to New England, and we had been travelling here for 3 weeks when we came to Bridges Inn. It is by far the best bed and breakfast we have stayed in since we arrived. We were astonished at the elegance of the house and rooms-- most inns in this price range are far simpler. It is furnished in period style with excellent taste, and is very clean. Susan and David are very friendly and hospitable, and the breakfasts are delicious--David is a professional chef.

Our stay at The Bridges was fantastic. Susan Schuster and her family are very gracious and accomodating. They made you feel right at home. The breakfast was absolutely fabulous! David is one of the most talented chefs we have come across. The breakfast he prepared was from local and seasonal items. The sere served beautifully and were delicious. We have stayed at many five star resorts and this was without a doubt the best breakfast we have been served! He is truly talented. When we visit again we will definitely choose to stay at The Bridges!

We do not have enough good things to say about this place. The accommodations were wonderful, Susan and David were gracious and welcoming, and the breakfast was nothing short of out of this world. We can't wait to come back! Thank you so much.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Bridges Inn at Whitcomb House. It was our first stay ever at a B&B and it exceeded our expectations. We didn't know what to expect of a B&B. Anyway, the hosts, Susan and David, were very personable and accomdating through out our stay. They made us feel at home the minute we met them. What made the stay even more exciting was that this used to be the home of my husband's family. The very fact that we were able to enjoy the house and estate made our weekend in Swanzey memorable. My extended family and I (12 in all) took over Bridges Inn for four days recently and had an absolutely special time. What warm and gracious hosts! And what astonishingly great food! We expected the usual pot of hot coffee and a pile of fresh bagels or muffins. What we got was fantastic breakfasts tailored to a variety of dietary needs (a couple of vegetarians, one person that requires a gluten-free diet, a diabetic, and the rest who can, and will, devour anything). You can't stay here and not want to come back. Thank you Susan and David!

The rooms are magnificent, the food is exquisite, Susan and her family are the warmest of hosts. Everything down to the teacups were absolutely perfect for this weekend with my family. I can't wait to come back and stay again!

I was fortunate enough to stay a weekend at this lovely and quaint B&B set in the idyllic village of Swanzey, NH. It's like walking through a time tunnel - I was blown away by the Victorian artefacts and the original condition of the original house. My stay was made much more pleasurable by the truly outstanding hospitality of the hosts - the Schuster family. It was both informal and relaxed, yet very efficient and professional. I have stayed in other B&Bs around the world, where the hosts are tripping over themselves to be hospitable and, unfortunately, don't give you room or time to breathe/relax. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay around the area, taking in the some of the magnificent covered bridges (they need to be seen to be appreciated) and the sights of Keene. I would go so far as saying that the Schusters treat their guests like their own, if not, like royalty and it's because of this that I write this review. Take it from me, this is a great find and I will be returning as soon as possible! I was quite sad to leave - it was like saying goodbye to lifelong friends. Thank you so much Susan and David for making my stay so pleasurable, but most of all, so memorable!!!!!

Ten family members stayed at the Bridges Inn at Wihitcome House from Thursday to Sunday. Attention to our needs and comfort could not have been better. Susan has raised the duties os Innkeeper to an art form. Any request was fulfilled with smiles, speed and pleasantness. Chef David each day presented us with gormet breakfasts which would easily compare to five star restaurant's fare anywhere in the country. The cost for our stay was significantly below the costs of hotels in Keene. I recommend Bridges Inn at Whitcome House without any reservation whatever. Dr,. Joseph Franson, Venice FL

This is such a unique property. Susan was more than accommodating for my last-minute reservation with special requests and so helpful and friendly during our entire stay. My brother and I had a lovely weekend visiting family and I would absolutely stay here again.

Susan and family made our stay a wonderful one! We were glad to see a B&B that allowed children - our 8-year old was thrilled to be staying at a "home away from home". Breakfast each morning was creative, elegantly presented and just delicious. We look forward to being back soon.

Everything about my stay was delightful -- the comfortable room, the exquisite breakfasts, the lovely location. But what was most impressive was the degree of hospitality. I felt truly cared for. I was fortunate enough to stay at the Bridges Inn a week ago and I have to say it far surpassed my expectations. The hospitality was so warm by the entire family, David's homemade bread was so, so good...Thanks David! The feeling I get there is just "warm and cozy" and I actually did not want to leave. The rooms were very clean with a beautiful atmosphere filled with history and antiques. The overall feeling while staying there was beyond what I could have expected. I do hope to return soon. Wonderful house. Our room was beautifully decorated, very comfortable bed. Everything we needed was there and thoughtful touches were added- chocolates in our room! Very friendly and accommodating -Susan is delightful. The icing on the cake was breakfast-David, the chef created a delicious and creative meal!

We only wish we could have stayed longer. The inn was lovely. Susan was so full of helpful information. Breakfast was a real treat.

We are always well cared for at Bridges Inn. The Schusters are attentive and friendly. One bonus for us has been the wheat-free and gluten-free cooking which is available upon request. Even those without special dietary needs will be won over.

I have stayed in both the Slate Room and the Coombs Room and would like to try every room! Both rooms have comfy beds, well equipped bathrooms and their marvelous old-fashioned decor reminds me of my grandmother who attended Colby in the late 1890's and would have used similar mirrors, combs, etc. David does a wonderful breakfast and Susan is a gracious and welcoming host. I just love staying at Bridges Inn and would recommend doing so to anyone coming to this area.

I first stayed at the Bridges Inn in October of 2007 with my Mother, who knew of the Inn already. She couldn't say enough wonderful things about it. I had my hesitations, as I usually prefer the "big hotels", but decided to give it a shot. I am out in the Keene area once a month on business, and will NEVER stay anywhere but the Bridges Inn now! It is unbelievable, and Susan and her family are now my "family away from home". They are so welcoming, and the Inn is so warm and inviting! Breakfast is beyond reality's realm...just incredible. You could only dream of waking up to one of David's breakfasts each day in life! There is no describing how pampered this family makes their guests feel. I could not recommend Bridges Inn more...you have to stay there to find out yourself what you've been missing!

This was my first BNB, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I certainly enjoyed my stay with Susan and David. They were both extremely helpful and welcoming. There wasn't a thing they weren't able to get that my girlfriend or I asked of them. David is an absolutely fantastic cook. Overall a very pleasant experience. I'd recommend it to anyone.

My daughter and I were guests at the Inn during a college visit. Susan greeted us with her terrific smile and made us feel very welcome. The room was warm and inviting. After a terrific night's sleep, breakfast was ready in the dining room on bone china. David’s culinary skills are exceptional. His delicious, creative breakfast will not soon be forgotten. The Inn’s décor is filled with detailed antiques and surprising special touches. We will be back for sure!

This is by far the best experience we have had at a B&B in a long while. The people who run the place are wonderful and clearly love what they are doing. The food is extraordinary—truly a gourmet breakfast. We plan to return every time we're in NH.

We spent two wonderful nights at the Bridges Inn and our stay was made more pleasurable by the beautiful decor of the Inn. As well as the wonderful sense of hospitality shown by the hostess Susan Schuster, we certainly would make it a desitnation upon a return trip to the Monadnock region. Breakfasts were superb!

Staying at The Bridges Inn during Pumpkin Weekend is something we look forward to all year. Every time we stay, it has been such a wonderful time...hospitality under the new ownership is the best we have ever experienced. Susan is the kindest and most friendly inn keeper and there should be more out there like her. David is an absolutely incredible chef. The breakfast was out-of-this-world!!! The atmosphere, innkeepers, and food make for an altogether perfect stay. We will return many times in the coming years!

You can't beat the breakfast or Sunday brunch. Chef David will surprise you with a variety of original recipes. The rooms are exquisite, just the right balance between Victorian and modern. The family and staff are friendly and helpful and the 2 1/2 year old granddaughter, who also serves as sous-chef, is an absolute delight. We will be back!

A historical treasure, as if we were transported back in time, yet has all the amenities of home. The meals were delightfully different, fresh and healthy. The company of other guests and the Bridges Inn family were pleasantly personable.

When in this neck of the woods, you will not be disappointed with a stay at this family-run inn. You will be welcomed and cared for in a very charming and comfortable home, well-located and easily found. My room was very well appointed with an attached bath,along with a coffee maker and chocolates set on a small wicker table by the bed.Vintage appointments and details abound. In the morning, breakfast awaited or they will send you off with food in hand. The owner's son, David, is a local chef. This family is living out a dream to own a B&B and you can be part of it.

We were fortunate to be able to stay in the Carlton Bridge Room which is everything it is made out to be... quaint, equisitively furnished, cozy, and comfortable. The facility was immaculate and well cared for and the innkeeper and her family made us feel like a part of the family. Exploring the many rooms and furnishings made us feel we were back in colonial days. The meals were a pleasant surprise... gourmet! We chose Bridges Inn because we were intrigued by the idea of an inn whose rooms were named for the five covered bridges in the area. We found far more than covered bridges...we found a family-run inn whose decor and furnishings are true to the spirit of the Whitcomb House as it was in all its early splendor. We were warmly welcomed, our every request was met, and breakfast was a work of art as well as a culinary delight. If you enjoy stepping back in time, Bridges Inn at Whitcomb House is worth checking out.
