Mary is a wonderful individual who radiate genuine happiness. It was such a pleasure to stay in her charming "summer cottage" that seems to stretch on and on! We had the Madison Room which was very clean, comfortable and pleasant.

Before our originally scheduled arrival, I had a health issue and could not arrive on the the reserved date. The innkeeper, Mary, was very understanding and pushed our stay out to accommodate my situation. We are very glad that we were able to experience the beautiful, historic inn and to spend some leisure time with Mary. She is a wonderful person. The room and the inn were spotless and our breakfast was world class. My wife and I have stayed at many B&B's in the New England area but rate the Mulburn Inn right up there with the very best.

What a beautiful place. We loved the rocking chairs on the front porch. The hospitality of the young man who welcomed us and baked cookies for us was amazing! Would highly recommend this B&B

The general property is quite nice and Mary is a great innkeeper/hostess. We got the last (of 7) room available for the 3 nights we were staying. The Jackson room is a 2-minute egg at this point, but the other rooms we peeked in on seemed much more spacious and better maintained. Book away from it until Mary has a chance to bring it up to snuff. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Very welcoming & relaxing.
The Jefferson room is the largest bedroom in the Inn. It is said that legends such as the Rockefellers, Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe slept here. All of the fixtures in the bathroom are original; take special note of the grand white pedestal sink in the bathroom, the largest in the house. Slabs of marble were placed under all of the original toilets to avoid water damage to the hardwood floors. One excellent feature of this room is the five large windows, which provide an excellent source of lighting, as well as a terrific breeze in the summertime.
The Washington room was the original master bedroom to the Ivie Estate. The room originally extended to the end of the hallway and the Monroe room served as the foyer for the elevator service to the 2nd floor. The Washington room is the only room in the inn, which boasts silver light fixtures. A king size hammered metal bed compliments the silver light fixtures, and an antique dresser, night table and matching armoire complete the room. The Bathroom contains an original six-foot long soaking tub and a separate walk in shower.
The Pierce room was originally one with the Jackson room. The four Ivie daughters resided here until they were eventually married. The entrance to the room was originally a large closet. In 1986 a wall was put up dividing the room into two, and the bathroom was added. This room features a lovely king size pencil poster bed as well as a twin bed. Directly opposite the king bed is a lovely mahogany woodwork electric fireplace to add ambiance year round, and an extra bit of warmth in the wintertime. At this time the bathroom has a walk in shower making it perfect for guests who prefer only a shower, or might have difficulty with a step in tub/shower.
The Monroe room originally served as a foyer to the master bedroom of the house. Elevator service was provided to the second floor through what is now the closet. A writing desk and a small variety of books were also located here. The light fixtures are all original, and the silver one in the bathroom indicates that this portion of the bathroom originally belonged to the master bedroom, which has all silver light fixtures. This room has a beautiful queen size antique poster bed in it. The small size and cozy nature of this room make it a favorite of those looking for our most affordable accommodations, or enjoy being close to the one they are traveling with! The toilet and sink are original to the house, and belonged in the Jackson room bathroom as a part of the matching bathroom set. At this time the bathroom has a walk in shower making it perfect for guests who prefer only a shower, or might have difficulty with a step in tub/shower.
The Jackson room and the Pierce room were originally one large room. This room housed all four of the Ivie daughters until Florence married Karl Abbot and moved into the Abbot House in 1923. The hanging light fixture exhibits the Art Deco style of decorating. The peach colored bath fixtures are all original and were imported from England. The original bathroom had two matching sinks and toilets so that the four daughters had more space in their dressing area. The sink itself weighs approximately 200lbs. The tub/shower is a tiled in claw foot tub. This room has a lovely queen size pencil poster bed and a love seat to curl up with your favorite book!
The Madison Room boasts mahogany woodwork throughout. The famed inventor Thomas Edison slept here. Edison visited the family frequently and gave the original electric stove located in the library to the family in 1924. The original owners manual is still with it! The hand carved queen size mahogany bed was acquired through an auction of the Kennedy Estate. The round turreted area is a unique feature of this Tudor Style Mansion; even the glass in the windows is curved! At this time the bathroom has a walk in shower making it perfect for guests who prefer only a shower, or might have difficulty with a step in tub/shower.
The Adams room is unique from any other room in the inn. The round turreted area with curved glass and woodwork of birds-eye maple are just a few of the special features this room as to offer. A wonderful queen size bed and matching armoire complete the picture. Original light fixtures exemplify the influence of the Art Deco period. The bathroom contains original pink fixtures imported from Europe. The tub is six feet in length, and the pedestal sink weighs almost 200 pounds. Barbara Hutton and Cary Grant spent a part of their honeymoon in this very room. However, she firmly believed that visiting New Hampshire once was more than enough and never returned!
