  • Casa Escondida Bed & Breakfast Video: Casa Escondida offers our guests the best of both worlds....a secluded, country setting that also happens to afford effortless access into historic Santa Fe, picturesque Taos and much more! Due to our central location, you will only need to unpack your luggage once during your entire visit to northern New Mexico. We are nestled on six acres with mountain views. We offer 8 intimate and comfortable guest rooms (all with private baths & cozy robes). Four of our eight rooms are pet friendly. You will find that all of our rooms are filled with antiques and accented in a rustic southwest style. Some rooms offer fireplaces, private decks or patios, kitchenette or wood stove. Casa Escondida is somewhat akin to a southwestern country inn. Our completely TV-free environment enhances the serenity of your stay. After a day of sight-seeing, enjoy a soak in our outdoor hot tub. A full, hot breakfast is served each morning in our sunny breakfast room.

    Casa Escondida ofrece a nuestros huéspedes lo mejor de ambos mundos.... un país aislado, establecer que también ocurre a permitirse el acceso sin esfuerzo en el histórico Santa Fe, Taos pintoresco y mucho más! Debido a nuestra ubicación central, sólo necesitará desempaquetar su equipaje una vez durante su visita todo al norte de Nuevo México. Nos estamos ubicados en seis acres con vistas a la montaña. Ofrecemos 8 íntima y confortables habitaciones (todas con baños privados y túnicas acogedoras). Cuatro de nuestras ocho habitaciones son mascota amistoso. Usted encontrará que todas nuestras habitaciones son llenos de antigüedades y acentuadas en un rústico estilo suroeste. Algunas habitaciones cuentan con chimeneas, cubiertas privadas o patio, cocina o leña. Casa Escondida es algo parecido a una Posada del suroeste del país.     I’m sorry you were disappointed with New Mexico high desert area that we are located in. We are definitely surrounded by the foothills of New Mexico. Perhaps you were expecting topography more like what Colorado offers. Just to clarify the hot tub situation, our hot tub had just been completely drained and cleaned the day prior to your arrival. We depend on a well for our water supply. What you mistakenly thought was a dirty hot tub, was a clean hot tub that simply had a high iron content. It does take 3 – 5 days after a complete drain and clean, for the mineral content to be filtered out of the hot tub water. The waters are checked daily (temperature, chemical levels, etc). Had you expressed your concern while you were here, we could have easily explained why the hot tub water had an “iron-colored” tint to it. We DO have hair dryers in all of our rooms. Perhaps you overlooked it. They are either hanging on a hook in the bathroom or they are below the bathroom sink (in the vanity). Had you asked, we would have gladly directed you to the location of your in-room hair dryer. Just so you know, it is customary to tip the housekeeper when staying at a bed & breakfast (or hotel or motel), just like it is customary to tip your wait-staff when dinning at a restaurant. You used a Groupon for your stay. It was stated on your Groupon that room taxes and gratuity are not included. We only bill for a tip when it is part of a promotional stay, such as yours. You were billed $8 for the housekeeper tip. This is actually somewhat of a “light” tip for a 2-night stay vs. what the average tip is that most of our guests voluntarily leave when they are not doing a promotional stay. I’m glad that you had the opportunity to try us out for a very nice promotional price but it would seem as though we are not a good fit for what you are seeking. Thanks for giving us a try.
