Fairview Inn

I knew it was a good B&B ahead of time but it exceeded expectations. The home had a very lovely unique feel to it. It wasn't a typical 4 diamond hotel. The staff were courteous by far from snobby. The Sunday brunch was one of the better overall meals I have ever eaten in my life. Pecan pie, cheesecake, creme brul'ee , banana pudding, and or so other deserts satisfy any ones sweet tooth. They also offer great services around town and have a very nice selection of historic civil war items and books. My family had a very good time and will definitely be returning.

I chose this B&B for our anniversary weekend getaway and it definitely exceeded my expectations. All the staff are super friendly and go above & beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable & relaxing. The 24 hour guest pantry is awesome with ice, filtered water, soda, fresh baked goods, coffee, etc. The breakfast was delicious and very filling each morning. We stayed in the English Suite on the 3rd floor and it was fabulous from the decor to the jacuzzi tub. They offer a game room, library, & gift shop as well. I also had a 25 minute massage at the nomiSpa which was wonderful. If you love history, I highly recommend staying here, and also visit the Old Capitol Building & museum a few miles up the road, which is free by the way.

My son, his fiance and I very recently stayed in the Magnolia Suite. We were in Jackson to find a home to lease before he begins law school and she begins medical school. The staff was beyond helpful. It is more than a hotel, you feel like you're home (but even better). Their attention to detail and the little things make such a BIG difference. As stated in earlier posts, the food is at the restaurant is amazing and the breakfast is also amazing but our server made it even better. She was so helpful and patient with us when questioning her about the area for our home. My son has decided that he would like to live their permanently...Sorry this is so long, but if you are undecided about a hotel or this bed and breakfast (home) I can honestly say I will always stay at the Fairview Inn when in Jackson...

The rooms are nice, but it is the food - wonderful cookies and cake available in the guest kitchen (near a small, cozy sitting room for guests) and the BEST BREAKFAST ever - that made this such a hit for my husband and I. Plus the Innkeepers and staff made a huge effort to be accomodating. A lovely place.

My husband and I spent the first night of our honeymoon here, and we were totally blown away. We were greeted the second we pulled into the circle driveway. The Fairview perfectly combines antiquity with elegance. The rooms are very spacious yet cozy. The 24-hour snack bar offers free soft drinks, coffee, and fresh baked goodies. We were able to enjoy some macaroons right out of the oven. After mingling with the other guests over breakfast, I was in need of printing our reservations for the next night's stay in New Orleans. When I informed the manager that the printer was out of paper, he practically ran to get me the printer paper. That was one of many instances of their impeccable service. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast!

Discovered this Inn over the Christmas holiday and was very pleased on all counts. The room was tastefully appointed and spacious, the staff friendly and helpful, and the overall environment made you want to stay longer. Great breakfast with homemade granola along with traditional style.

Went to celebrate my birthday and stayed in Tack Suite which was breathtaking. This Inn is absolutely beautiful, service is exceptional and friendly. If you need a night of romance, seclusion and relaxation, this is the place to go!

I chose the Fairview Inn for my June 2010 wedding and it was absolutely a perfect choice. The property is magnificently beautiful, the rooms clean, the food is great, and the staff ever so friendly. The setting was gorgeous and everyone loved the place and the food. I would definitely recommend this Inn whether for a wedding or for a weekend retreat. Thank you Fairview staff.

I am originally from Jackson, but my wife and I have lived in Nashville since 2007. We recently stayed at The Fairview Inn for a week and we were very impressed. Our room was well-decorated, comfortable, clean and private. The grounds were elegant and were useable for relaxation, reading and dining. The staff was helpful and hospitable. The food was delicious. While we are not aficionados of the typical B & B, we will rank The Fairview Inn as our favorite- it has the best features of an elegant hotel and an historic inn.

My husband and I stayed at the Fairview Inn on a recent trip to Jackson to visit our college age son. This inn is beautiful and was one of the highlights of our trip. It is surrounded by big magnolias and crepe myrtles. We stayed in an attic suite and it was beautiful. The breakfast was excellent. We dined one night at their restaurant, Sophies, and it was also excellent. It was nice dine there and not have to drive after dinner.

Great service & wait staff. Elegant, historic home. Mysterious. Down to Earth.

The Fairview Inn is a beautifully maintained property and the Innkeepers are delightful and accomodating. The restaurant serves delicious food with friendly service. The room we stayed in had great decor and the bath robes were a nice surprise! The location is close to everything including the airport.

We stayed in the quiet, cozy, cool, spacious, elegant Third Floor Suite; it's black and white color scheme was complemented by rich, dark woodwork. Loved relaxing in the oversize Jacuzzi with overhead skylight. Tasty buffet-style breakfast made it easy to eat well but quickly, since we were traveling on business. Dinner in Sophia's Restaurant combined friendly service with elegant atmosphere; the food was delicious and creative. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Jackson, that's for sure. Great for business travel or a romantic escape.

Peter and Tamar have taken an adequate B&B and turned it into a multifaceted gem. The inn is relaxing and comfortably furnished. Savory meals are served in their lovely restaurant, Sophie's. Their full service spa is too good to miss! The staff is friendly and responsive to guests' unique needs. I highly recommend this inn!

My stay was wonderful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was a beautiful, well-decorated, clean inn. the dining room, food (not breakfast) was a bit ordinary and sparse. Overall, though, I was very pleased.

I couldn't stop eating...and eating...and eating- the food is phenomenal! The decor is fun- I enjoyed peering into each room to see the decorations and themes. The staff was all very solicitous- two thumbs up!

The Fairview Inn overwhelms from the minutes you walk in the door. The warmth of the decor and staff are really special. You feel like you are at home. The rooms are not 'hotelly' and are all different. Will definitely will come again.

My and I went to the Fiarview Inn in March. We scurried to our room, the Hayloft Honeymoon Suite. My husband was surprised upon entering the room~e indicating this wasn't the room he looked at on the internet. Thinking he'd made a mistake we quickly made reservations for dinner at Sophia's. As we were getting ready, a wedding party, band began to play. By the time we made it to dinner we were literally screaming with each other in order to hear ourselves over the band. The waitress was very apologetic for the noise. The food was spectacular. We then went on the grounds to find a quiet place to sit and talk. The Inn is smoke free, however, the grounds are not. We went of to our room only to be disturbed by the band until later that night. We heard something in the walls most of the night. The next morning my husband discovered that the animal had actually eaten a hole about the size of two silver dollars, in the wall. You could see the fur of the animal as it attempted to get out. We immediately gathered our things and left the room. We asked to see the Inn Keeper and were told that he was not available and were instructed to speak to his daughter. We did so and were told that we could expect a call from the Peter. Still thinking he'd booked the wrong room, we looked on the Fairview Inn website to see what room he'd intended to book. We were even more disappointed when we discovered that we were in the correct room. The website, however, did not actually depict the decor of the room. The site had a very elegantly decorated room. The actual room itself was not elegant at all. After several days I called the Inn and spoke to Peter Sharp. I infomed him of our incident and the fact that the site was not factual in the depiction of the room. He stated he was unaware of both and would get back with me. I phoned 3 times and still did not get a return call.

My wife and I had to change plans for a visit to New Orleans because she had to teach a class on our 23rd Anniversary. I decided that we would stay in town at the Fairview. We had been there several times for wedding receptions and thought it might be a nice surprise. After reserving the Hayloft, I canceled dinner reservations that I had made at another restaurant and reserved a table at the Fairview. As it turned out, it was a cold weekendend and a perfect choice not to leave the Inn. What a great stay. From the time I first contacted the Inn to the last person I handed the key back to, everyone was a delight. The suite was large and warm with a jacuzzi tub and walk-in shower. Plenty of room to stretch out and enjoy our special occasion. Best of all, no 3 hour drive back home. We will definitely do this again.

This is a fantastic property. Beautiful in every way. The food and service far exceeded my expectations.
