"We have just returned from a dependably pampered and restorative weekend in Berkeley Springs, WVA, staying at Highlawn Inn, a hilltop B&B. This is likely our twentieth visit over a number of years, and a huge draw has been that we will have a visit with the gracious innkeepers Sandy and Tim. Sandy is a keen cook who feeds guests abundantly with fresh, local food beautifully presented and deliciously prepared to appeal to every palate, with herbs and edible flowers from her garden. Rooms are impeccably clean and comfortable, summer and winter. Innkeepers and staff are happy to make dinner reservations or recommend a day's excursion for hiking, gallery openings or spa treatments in town. Dine with strangers, make new friends! "
